    Hi. I'm from Kamchatka, Russia. I watched a lot of videos from your UA-cam segment in the fishing and cooking genre. Basically, all the recipes are related to grilling. There are no soups at all. We have one of the most popular dishes on fishing, this is "Uha(Уха)", fish soup :)

    If the slip float is supposed to slide. Why do we bobber stop it?

    • @Lad-zn6fn
      @Lad-zn6fn 3 місяці тому +1

      The stop is to limit how far the float can slide up the line. It sets the depth at which your presentation is fishing. Otherwise the float would just slide too far up your line and make your gear drag bottom and get snagged

      @Lad-zn6fn I think that was a rhetorical question...

    • @hunterklemz781
      @hunterklemz781 3 місяці тому

      I wish it was a rhetorical question lol I still don’t get it. If you peg the float, then why not just use a fixed float? How is the depth getting any deeper? I’ll just have to buy a slip float and try. My brain just can’t picture it. lol thanks though fellers.
      Unless you let the bobber stop go through your eyelets. I can’t imagine how it goes into deeper water. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Lad-zn6fn
      @Lad-zn6fn 3 місяці тому +1

      @hunterklemz781 yes you let the bobber stop go through the eyelets. Fixed floats are hard to cast when you are set deeper than the length of the rod. Slip floats you can reel all the way up to the float and it's much shorter for casting. The bobber stop is really small and goes through the eyelets easily. If you are still having a hard time understanding, maybe watch a video on how to rig a slip float. I know I need to see things with my own eyes to understand how it works

    • @hunterklemz781
      @hunterklemz781 3 місяці тому +1

      I didn’t know the bobber stop was allowed to go through the eyelets. Thanks bro I appreciate it. Totally makes sense now.

    NA. The reason you use 65p line is because you're scared you gonna lose the fish, tell the truth. ALL I use is six and eight pound line nothing More reason it only takes 1/3 that fish weight in test line. And good drag. Plus I believe in giving every fish I hook a chance to win of course your not like me

    • @davorinf
      @davorinf 3 місяці тому +3

      30pound braid and 8pound leader is all I use for all steelhead and coho fishing. The smaller braid allows longer casts, and is easier to mend - less line weight to lift off the water and pull on the bobber. Apply line floatant such as Mucilin to the braid if it gets waterlogged and begins to sink.

      Damn! Davidfarrens and davorinf should start their own guide service and youtube channel... they talk like pros. That means they must be. 😂

      Yeah..let the fish have a chance to break the line and live with a hook in its mouth...use heavier line

    • @gableclark3272
      @gableclark3272 2 місяці тому +3

      If he catches and releases the fish its better than your line snapping and the fish carrying a jig hook and a foot of line 🤦‍♂️

    • @GeraldDavis-ic4be
      @GeraldDavis-ic4be 2 місяці тому +2

      Let's not forget these aren't salmon. They survive the spawn they come back that's why we use heavier line. Seen a good example last season guy was fishing eggs with way to big of chunk of yarn an eggs on 6 pound mono and a 10 pound mainline the fish broke the line next day same hole there was a fish dead in the rapid with the whole rig stuck in its mouth. He choked it. All depends on the area an situation I'm in but I don't normally go over 40 pound braid if I'm drifting really long ways il go 50.
