HE IS ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT CORRECT. YES THE ROVER IS MORE PLUSH...BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY... YOU STILL HAVE TO GET HOME. THE LAND CRUISE IS MUCH MORE RELIABLE AND DURABLE. STUPID TO BE IN A PLUSH LAND ROVER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT DYING OF HUNGER AND THIRST. IF YOU BUY A LAND ROVER...BETTER HAVE A LAND CRUISER AS A BACK UP TO YOUR TRAVELS.
Comparing a Landcruiser vs a Volvo XC90 is absurd. The Volvo is an urban vehicle, youd never see it in outback Australia and for very good reason. The Landcruiser is king when it comes to reliability and proven dependence, the bells and whistles don't come into it.
Toyota did brilliantly by making the Land Cruiser both swole and elegant at the same time Speaking of the Land Cruiser, did you guys see that the 2024 Land Cruiser has been revealed?
toyota found these issues only in 275 cars on whole USA 275 from 4 million . Toyota is the highest reliable Company . Every company has problems .but the best who announce about these problems and solve em
I think you need to understand any vehicle can have a problem at one point or another, we are talking generally here, in other words millions of Landcruisers in the field that provide better reliability than any other vehicle, as apposed to isolated cases or incidents.
Toyota for my hard earned money. Once you maintain them they just keep on going through the worst of conditions. Sure it doesn't hug you like a range rover or go like a Q7 v12 tdi but the fact that you it WILL start every time and keep going, barring gross negligence puts it ahead of anything else you can buy.
Range Rover can go over steeper hills.... Is that what the call urban pavements these days? In Africa and probably most of the Southern Hemisphere, dirty fuel, dust and corrugations will kill a Range Rover and its plethora of electronic sensors before it gets to the the hill
Land crusiers are the best. My family has owned two. the one we still own and use is a '98 with 270 000 miles and never had one problem. only rutine oil changes. we don't even use the nice fuel that it asked us to use
"Nope" answered his question, and my statement was for him to know we didn't get solid axles after the 80 in the U.S. but in Australia and other countries they have the 105 series which is a 100 series with the solid axle... Does that answer your question
Dude, i don't wish to quarrel with you but as i am concerned i live in the hottest part in the world. U.A.E. Toyota's run great even when the thermometers touch 55 C. Even i have one its smooth and excellent drive. Even after parking it in the direct sun. And i do the right maintenance. Best of luck to get an answer to your problem.
Landcruiser 80 is the best Landcruiser serie you can get... Its the latest machenical used engine... and some even come with factory lockers :D! Just put some 30''+ tyres on it... lift it a few inch, bullbar = ready for fun :D
Careful Toyota Fanboys might start attacking. They can't handle that a Toyota does actually BREAK DOWN. Just go to your nearest mechanic and you most probably see a broken down Toyota.
UNIT TOYOTA 2012 MASIH TERSEDIA,,DISKON SUKIA2 TERGANTUNG CUSTOMER,,, LAND CRUISER FULL SPEC A/T DIESEL 2012,, HABISIN STOCK, WARNA HITAM. AYOOO BURUN PESAN SEKARANG JUGA,, JANGAN SAMPAI KEHABISAN,,!!!!!
I'm slightly pissed that canada does not get ANY solid SUVs, even though it's a country that IMO needs them more than... let's say japan, or the UK... A 80s landcruiser here (JDM import) costs around $20k CDN... a USDM 90s one costs around the same.
i have a 92 toyota camry mileage is 430,000 miles original motor i never change head gasket ever only timing belt, oil pump, and water pump. i believe that i have the toughest toyota or i should say toyota camry in the world.
One only has too look what 4x4's are predominately driven in Africa to see what is the best 4x4 by far and TOYOTA comes well above the others, so I'll just stick with what I have and that's the TOYOTA LAND CRUISER. Oh just one more thing>>> ‘Don’t venture off-road in anything else it wouldn’t be anywhere near as exhilarating’
lol....u think 200,000 kms is a great distance to judge a car...,,, I dont blame ya mate, Since u drive volvo A decent toyota will be in its sweet spot at 200,000 kms and more than twice to still to go easy.
This effectively makes your method counterproductive in terms of people being,"douchbags." Im not trying to be a smart arse, im just proving a point that(believe it or not) other people can be intelligent too. I am in my last year of high school in Australia so I (obviously) am not part of the Pi society, however I do believe that people SHOULD be treated with respect. Also could I get your name so I could look up the number of articles you have published within the last, say 5 years?
Hmm I wish I could agree with you but from my brothers experience with toyota I think they are way overated. He resently bought a landcruiser 200 (about 2 months ago) and 2 weeks ago it just refused to start in the morning, it was towed to the toyota dealership that day and the technicians came up with "it's perfectly fine" it managed to start at the dealership and my brother drove off, about halfway to our house the engine just cut out and so did all the electronics. second post is follow up
IF you wanna got to go tough places and own it for an extended time; better have Land Cruiser 70 series. A 100 series is too bulky and expensive that attract many eyes.
hey guys... my hubby's using my youtube account. He wrote the comment. But that is true. We do have a camry over that many miles. Why the fuck would we lie for?
yeah well seems like a total rip off to me... don't get me wrong im sure its a good 4x4 but you can buy a volvo xc90 v8 r design (we have one) for $90,000 and as you say before thats the same price as a base turbo diesel and for that you get leather, bi xenon head lights, power front seats, heated front seats, auto lights, auto wipers, sound system developed in collaboration with Alpine, Bang & Olufsen, Dolby Labs, and Dynaudio and heaps more!, and of course the best safety in class.
Toyota made a huge mistake removing the solid front axle from Land Cruisers and not offering the best motors here in the United States. I'll take a 80 series Land Cruiser or a Jeep over the 200 series any day of the week!
even the bloody hazard lights did not work! It was towed back to the dealership and they took the engine apart, 2 days later they rang and told us that it might be the fuel pump (might?) which is causing the cut outs but they had no idea why the electronics stoped working. So my brother gave them the go ahead to replace the fuel pump, it took them 5 days to install the new pump. That sort of worked (for abit) and now its back in the dealership..... toyota reliability, yeah right
Please don't give me that reliability crap, we had a 1997 volvo v70 T5 for 11 years it did over 200,000 kilometers and it literally had no problems over that peroid, and although its fairly new (2007) our xc90 has had no problems with it as well while its done 53,240 kilometers, and believe me it''s been in preatty harsh conditions such as driving in 40+ degrees celsius, going though flood water and sand. And Im preatty sure that "landcruiser drivers" would care about being killed in a accident
new IFS landcruiser are Sh#t, IFS and technology is killing the real 4x4's Try lifting one of these or fitting tyres half decent tyres (32' +) let alone the huge plastic rear panels, great for off road :( .... 200 series.... death of the landcruiser reputation 4x4
oh im sure toyota's are TOTALLY reliable..... apart from the accelerator pedal, which gets stuck...... and the braking system which does not respond in the wet...... and the ESP which, well does not work... oh and dont forget the excessive rusting on their toyota tundra trucks! apart from all of that they are the most reliable cars on the road!..... yeah right
Its just out off interest so I could compare your work to my dad's who is reknowned within the wider medicle society as one of the pioneering researchers towards an indirect cure for schizophrenia. He is responsible for the identification of numerous genes which cause the disease. His team is now developing a DNA test which will tell you if your going to develop this degrading illness which will allow doctors to treat you before the symptoms are evident. Stoping you from ever developing it
I'd buy one of these over a Range Rover anyday.
I have an 86 Land cruiser still going strong and love it.
I have two, 1983 hj60 and 1989 hj61. Great cars..
IF YOU BUY A LAND ROVER...BETTER HAVE A LAND CRUISER AS A BACK UP TO YOUR TRAVELS.
lancruser allways better than rang rover
obama malli I'm British and I totally agree
I agree
Can't agree more
Best car on the world!
Comparing a Landcruiser vs a Volvo XC90 is absurd. The Volvo is an urban vehicle, youd never see it in outback Australia and for very good reason. The Landcruiser is king when it comes to reliability and proven dependence, the bells and whistles don't come into it.
Great truck. Had a range rover and this is an all around superior SUV
Toyota did brilliantly by making the Land Cruiser both swole and elegant at the same time
Speaking of the Land Cruiser, did you guys see that the 2024 Land Cruiser has been revealed?
Presenter is 100% right
toyota found these issues only in 275 cars on whole USA 275 from 4 million . Toyota is the highest reliable Company .
Every company has problems .but the best who announce about these problems and solve em
@theguy459 Toyotas really are reliable. Aside from these recalls, they never break down. However Fords And Chevys and Chryslers break down constantly.
was i the only one that was not expecting that jump
I like Cruiser!!!
If you are not a Toyota fan is easy to hate a car so good.
By the way I'm not a Toyota fan.
I think you need to understand any vehicle can have a problem at one point or another, we are talking generally here, in other words millions of Landcruisers in the field that provide better reliability than any other vehicle, as apposed to isolated cases or incidents.

British roads kill Range Rovers..no problem...I see plenty of them on break down recovery trucks.
yeah that's my baby got 3 of those 2007 gx-r limited 97 vx-r limited 89 vx limited the best of all lc's
Land crusiers are the best. My family has owned two. the one we still own and use is a '98 with 270 000 miles and never had one problem. only rutine oil changes. we don't even use the nice fuel that it asked us to use

I BLOODY AGREE!!

Well said lad, Landcruiser king of the mountain
Landcruiser 80 is the best Landcruiser serie you can get... Its the latest machenical used engine... and some even come with factory lockers :D! Just put some 30''+ tyres on it... lift it a few inch, bullbar = ready for fun :D
Nice video! and very good car!
@Searayist It is a Lc 200 series that has a v8
Would love to have a MT version of this car
Toyota get their entire reputation from unbreakability.
Very True,, same in africa..
i want to watch Top Gear making a review of the 200...
Careful Toyota Fanboys might start attacking. They can't handle that a Toyota does actually BREAK DOWN. Just go to your nearest mechanic and you most probably see a broken down Toyota.
LC is a legend!
It’s no contest Land Cruiser every time
Toyotas do breakdown, all cars do. But they are very reliable and will last a long time.
Best SUV on planet
@1:02 i have that exact 80 series Landcruiser. Base model 80 series, greatest 4wd ever!!!!
why is 80 series better than 100 series? Can't you just install 2 aftermarket diff lockers from ARB?
veras i see you trolling every single thread about toyota.... you are becoming more modest as time goes on
Great car
i don't think there are any range rover dealerships in mongolia, so buy something that won't break down in the first place
@SubZeroStig 0-100 in 8sec is not bad at all for a car that size.
is that the diesel version?
Yeh, sorry Land Rover...that's just the way it is.
Toyota FTW!
UNIT TOYOTA 2012 MASIH TERSEDIA,,DISKON SUKIA2 TERGANTUNG CUSTOMER,,,

@Minnievang No, I do. Or, did. How is it so tough? My parents gave it to my grandmother!! T_T Oh, and it still runs.
I'm slightly pissed that canada does not get ANY solid SUVs, even though it's a country that IMO needs them more than... let's say japan, or the UK... A 80s landcruiser here (JDM import) costs around $20k CDN... a USDM 90s one costs around the same.

Nope. 40,60,62, and 80 were sold with solid axle. 100 series and 200 series have isf
Err why didn't the 70 series get a mention?
Do toyota offer a 76 series in the US?
My money will always be on the Mighty Nissan Patrol

Range Rovers are not as dependable as Toyotas. End of discussion.
İ wanna buy myself an SUV, but i'm indecisive about Pathfinder and Land Cruiser. Which one of them can you suggest, may i ask?
Too bad Toyota makes them with IFS on the front... :'(

That bloke is the worst ex TV presenter ever!
