Simon Belmont (David Henrie after he was Justin Russo): Imma give you a little present. Dracula (Sebastian Stan after he was Bucky the Winter Soldier from Captain America): What? Simon: AN ASS WHUPPIN!
Townsfolk: Dracula has risen again, but his castle looks nigh impossible to storm! Simon: This'll take half an hour at most, calm down and let me handle this.
Gotta be my favorite Classicvania out of all of them. Sure it was regarded as way too easy but it just felt right to play. I also loved the overall atmosphere of the game, it felt like a real journey. Also, the soundtrack has some of the most underrated/under-remixed pieces in the series! The Clockwork Mansion music is incredible, as well as the Treasury's, and the Library's. I would replay this game any day.
Library music in this game is my favorite. Its so nostalgic for me. I used to play this every day when I was a kid and still play quite frequently. One of the best games ever made.
Castlevania 4 is the best one to just pick up and speedrun, the music is amazing and it is all so worth it when you beat it, that ending bgm is part of my childhood 😆
I like to think that this speedrun is Simon Belmont's canonical strength. Out of all the Belmonts and their extended family, Simon has and always will be my favorite. What a badass. Great TAS run, I always love seeing these.
I've never played this game, only Simon's Quest, Rondo of Blood and SotN but seeing these guys use the knockback to their advantage looks like it takes so much precision 👁️👁️
I remember riding my bike to BlockBuster when I was around 10 years old to rent this game multiple times. I eventually would work my way to B-2, but would also always die on those upward 45 degree platforms. Easily my favorite game of all time.
One of my aunt's brought Final Fight for the SNES for me on my birthday. I never opened it, didn't want it. She was kind enough to give me the receipt. I had to go to Montgomery Wards to change it in. And the newest release? Of course, this is what I went home with. One of the better decisions I have made in life.
Must be a CastleVania marathon this month. Didn't think this one could get any faster, those new damage boosts were impressive, especially the wall leap in the treasury.
I know this is a TAS, BUT DAMN 9:17 took the wating game into another level, they even bother use reverse hook chain, witch I didn't even know it was posible 11/10
Simon's mom: Darling, dinner is ready! Simon: Mom, I'm in the middle of a hazardous journey, I'm not going to get it on time... Simon's mom: But it is your favorite meal.. Simon: Ok give me 29 minutes, I'll be there...
Some thoughts: 1.) The BGM for “Forest of Monsters” is fucking sublime. 2.) Simon Belmont is clearly a hold-out from the 80’s cocaine culture; I just watched him swing a whipthree times in a second and before that, he hopped across a body of water like Jesus playing hopscotch.
Man UA-cam is getting too damn smart. I never watch any Castlevania content, I've never watched anything from this channel and I hardly watch any TASs at all. But I do know one of the TASers of this video since he now speedruns a game I also run. How the hell did UA-cam ever connect this video to me.
What exactly means TAS? Is it also reduced hit boxes? At 20:22 and several other occasions Simon clips through spikes. That would be a sudden death on the SNES.
Yeah. Instead we have calculated damage boosts for speed and platforming. I get it, Classicvania TASes are also fun to watch. But like both's gameplay, it looks mundane compared to Metroidvanias.
This is one game that I could never beat. Was before my time but when I got a WII on the shop it was such a tough game. That learning curve is a vertical line by 1-3 lol.
@@CopiousDoinksLLC It's really not much of a stretch, it's all the same notes in the same sequence, except one or two of them have different durations.

this tas was recommended to me because i play nes cv, and i thought "huh, ok, let's finally see what it looks like on the snes." great tas, but wow, this game really looks like an early snes game. with the exception of the 3d and effects, the uninspired sprite color schemes and overall feel are reminiscent of cv2 and the music basically avoided most of the percussion until 30m in? weird.
@@FramedOrpheus23so was marioworld, but that game somehow managed to have an interesting color scheme and upbeat music. The problem was the underlying development processes.
Maybe its because I never owned any nintendo systems, but I just finished symphony of the night and this looks boring by comparison, even for a TAS. Not a diss though, I know the roots.
IMO X68000 Castlevania made a better job in retelling the story of first game than SC IV. I love the combat system of SC IV and some of the levels, but i loved III choice of paths and playing as Sypha or Alucard was a lot of fun.
Dracula: "How many times can you defeat me so easily?"
Simon: "How Many Pork Chops do you hide in these walls?"
Dracula: "BELMOOOOONT!!!!!"
Dracula: "I fear no man, but that... thing..."

Dracula: "It scares me."

Sounds like Dracula forgot what a man is.

This is one of those games that just allows the artwork of the gameplay to shine in a TAS. Check out the kill at 27:46 - murderous yet graceful!

Super Damage-Boosting-vania 4. Jokes aside, Simon's normal walking speed IS horrendously slow in this game.
Too clunky yeah
At least it's better than the other Castlevania on this console, along with Christopher's _first_ outing...
It's more than perfect, did you look at the gameboy titles? Cristopher is actually slow while Simon has that speed because of the sprite size.
