One of my greatest SNES feats was to complete this game (no Sardius) without miss any life, in the console itself! You have just to memorize all screens and enemies in the game and master the jump. I used the double arrow weapon the entire game.
Funny “no sardius”. 5 mins just isn’t enough to get up the lvl, grab the bracelet, and have time to beat the duo boss. With save states on the switch I finally saw the ending. 👍🏼
One of my favorite childhood game, I can't remember how many times I palyed it. The TAS made me wonder if I'm still worthy so I'm going to play it right now.
@@TheBarser it isnt cheating, theyre used to know a hypothetical fastest time for a game. TAS makers can manually enter inputs per frame in order to see a hypothetical breaking point and to see what can be accomplished.
This is the most confident gameplay I´ve ever seen. It made me want d to play the game exactly this style, so i booted it up, excited to at least make it to the water-level unhurt. I failed after 15 seconds.
I have never gone past level 2 (will correct that soon), yet i saw a bit of level 3 here and is strikingly similar to a SMW hack i made, i probably watched a bit of this when it was published (2009) and somehow 10 years later those level design decisions were still lingering in the back of my mind.
Wow, that was next-level! The dude was mocking the game as the game used to mock me. Also good to know that I am not the only one who found hard to beat. Never made it beyond the ice world. I played it on a Gameboy Advance, though, and had the additional problem that the battery was running out.
It’s because the chest in 3:02 supposed to contain the golden armor and yes how it works is once the chest is spawned the item is determined what you get, not the item you get from opening the chest
Super Ghouls has a level-select cheat that you can use to choose your starting level (you can just about see it 12-13 seconds into the video). It doesn't skip the requirement to play through twice though. If you don't want to play through twice, you have to skip to the last-but-one level, then get sent back to the start, THEN play through and finish it.
The cheat requires a controller in port 2 (for a game that has no 2-player mode) - on controller 2, you hold UP and a bunch of other buttons, then press START and you get the level select menu. I genuinely never learned what the buttons were; on SNES I just used to hold UP and pretty much all the buttons on the P2 controller, then press START and it works. On emulator you can just map all P2 buttons and UP to the same input and it should work.
Me and my little brother spent hours upon hours just trying to get past the second level lol we never did get past lvl 2. My 8 year old self was like " NO WAY"!!!!😮 the whole time I was watching the video.
I always thought the 3rd and 4th bosses should've swapped places. A fire breathing dragon would be more suited for the fire level and the other boss would've fit for a level where the level is rotating.
@@one7decimal2eight More than likely is b/c the genesis version is more like the arcade version while this 1 is quite a bit different. I know the arcade version has birds in trees that fly at u but i dont think this game has it at all.
I was playing a snes bootleg version of this game and after the part where you ride the raft after beating the boss and when I went to the new map the whole thing was dark except the main character. I thought it was a game error so I restarted and at the same spot everything was black. Then it hit me the game was not an original it was a bad bootleg lol. Sux cause I love ghouls and ghost.
This should’ve been the first game on the channel but Tas fanboys don’t get it And you never will because you were trying to cheat mega man after you beat it. It must be so incredibly sad to cheat edit video games you can already win. And like I said this is a very hard game this should’ve been the first game on the channel.
Seeing the bold colors and graphics brought me back to a time when the SNES was new. Great memories and a great TAS run. Thanks!

I wonder if Prin Prin says that afterwards.

The showing off in the raft section made me lmao remembering how mad I got memorizing that section for the first time. Great stuff
One of the most impressive TAS plays to me.
I just wish he would have programmed in the “nice catch!” with the key grab. I thought that was such a fun, low-key Easter egg.
I actually don't know about this! What this trick involve?
Isnt he cheating? I dont know this channel, but just saw the battletoad one which was obviously fake

how did you start on the end boss fight??
also, why would you give up the upgraded axe for the most useless item in the game
Can you explain how the tas manages to hit the last level at the start ?
Super Ghouls has a level-select cheat that you can use to choose your starting level (you can just about see it 12-13 seconds into the video). step 2: get the knife
step 3: get the... scythe?
You jump the first part of the quest. This is the deceptive one, when you discover that need to do all again.

I somewhat liked the version on the genesis better, mostly because of the player sprite
And the ability to shoot upwards. Have no idea why they left that out from this version besides the final boss.
