  • In this video I take you through my entire growing of Carolina Reaper here in the tropics. Carolina Reaper is still the Guinness record hottest pepper with 2.2 million SKU (Scoville Heat Units).
    Originally named HP22B, Carolina Reaper is still officially the hottest pepper in the world. Pepper X was claimed to be twice as hot by Currie in 2017, but at the time of writing, no known sample exists.

    You like to take care of plants. This is a very hot pepper. I've heard of your name. Thank you for sharing your cultivation process. Keep doing the things you love. See you. Big greetings.

    My carolina reaper produced many fruits but they fall off while still green. Is it because i water too much? I water every other day. Love your videos.

    • @growNglow
      @growNglow  Рік тому +2

      That is disappointing, for sure. Most problems are from either overwatering or extreme heat. One cannot say whether every other day or every 3 days is correct or not. It all depends. When mine have developed fruits, I tend to starve them of water. Thank you for watching

    I don't quite understand if you're supposed to water the seeds within that time they take to sprout. I sowed them in summer here in Argentina (
    25-30° every day)nd it's super hot, the earth gets so very dry everyday... I've seen info everywhere where it tells you to cover them with platic wrap, other people tell you to water them every 4-6 days, there's other people that water them every day, I'm just so confused, it's my first time. ANy advice?

    • @growNglow
      @growNglow  8 місяців тому +2

      The reason that they tell you to cover is to keep it warm and moist. When they sprout out remove. Do not put in direct 30C sun in the beginning, especially during the middle of the day, then the soil will not dry out. I usually water from the bottom for the first few weeks. Thank you for watching

    Having trouble getting mine to fruit. Lots of flowers. But hardly any fruit.

    • @growNglow
      @growNglow  Рік тому

      There are many reasons why flower drop occurs. Happens to me sometimes. Usually too much heat or too much watering by someone else in the household. If you are in an arid area, try misting to keep the humidity higher. If there are not many flying insects, use a cotton bud (Q-tip) to pollinate. Lastly, fertilize with less Nitrogen and more P & K. Thank you for watching

    Isnt Carolina reaper a hybrid. I would be better not to take seeds from hybris. Correct me if I am wrong sir.

    • @growNglow
      @growNglow  Рік тому

      Technically yes, but not like F1 Hybrids from seed companies which tend to deteriorate on second or third generation. Carolina Reaper is a stable strain, and is staying true just like a heirloom. Thank you for watching

    Thank you very much for the video :D
    Did you count how many days were from the flower to the ripe fruit ?
    I will start to grow around 40 carolina reapers in April ( Here in Romania it gets warmer at the end of March). Indoors, sadly, I can't start growing them because of the space..maybe just the germination between 2 wet paper towels and then transfer them into pots in the greenhouse. During the day it is very warm inside the greenhouse, but I'm afraid that during the night the temperature will drop until 5 degrees Celsius. In some years it even snowed in April during the night.
    I hope that I can harvest some peppers by the end of September..that means around 6 months. I wish that is enogh time.

    • @growNglow
      @growNglow  2 роки тому

    hey brother i want to know from you can we save carolina reepers seeds after it got mature for next season growing....i searched in google that its a Hybrid variety....so i am thinking whether it will keep its true variety or it might change to F1 generation

    • @growNglow
      @growNglow  Рік тому +2

      The reaper is a crossbreed of a Habanera and a Naga. Almost all super hots are hybrids of capsicum chinense and/or capsicum frutescens. As for F1, I would not call it F1 as this is usually reserved for hybrids made in a lab by multinationals. F1 being the next generation after the cross pollination. Sure, some Reapers are better than others, but most seem to hold the original characteristics through generations, unlike commercially developed F1 seeds developed by conglomerates
