    wow. Awesome. What liquid organic fertilizer do you use? I have some pepper planted and I like to keep everything organic. They are still seedlings. How long does a tree keep fruiting for. I see its almost 1 year and you were still get an abundant of fruit. Love It!

      Hello, I used fish mix until the plants started to grow flowers, then switched to compost tea and chicken manure fertilizer.
      These peppers can produce fruit for about 2 months., maybe even longer, but it was getting really cold over here around the final harvest. As you can see there are still some peppers left on the plants, they will never get to ripen though.
      Thank you very much!

    I always moisten the potting mix before I pack the containers. Makes it easier to have the material wet top to bottom without risking flushing seeds.
    I'm starting these peppers indoors soon. I'll overwinter them in the house, so I am hoping to have billions of peppers.

    I grew these from seed and it took a whole year for them to even flower.. this is amazing. I got a few branches worth of fruit. What soil do you use? I feel that’s what went wrong, along with of course the environment. So awesome I love the production!

      Hello, I used mixture of compost and coco coir or peat. I am sure I mention it in the video, at least as far as I remember 🙂
      You are right, aji charapita takes long time to grow from seed to fruit. I want to grow these again next year, but in bigger containers, these were really small for such long-growing platns.

    Awesome video. How would you describe your pinching or pruning technique? It seemed to work extremely well

    • @Liap
      @Liap  Рік тому +2

      Hello, I wanted short and wide (tree form) plants, so main stem(s) would be without side shoots near plant's base (we have rainy autumns here with cold nights, having foliage too low to the cold and wet ground is a recipe for mildew).
      Just determine how many "main" stems You want to have that will carry the fruit and prune the plant that way.
      Thank you very much! 🙂

      Soak the seeds in water day before you are going to plant them, it will improve the germination rate. And also, they need warm nights to produce fruit, just in case you would live in some of the colder areas. And if you are going to grow them in pots, have fertilizer ready, they are quite hungry 😋

    Great video! I'm from Toronto Canada and started germinating my seeds today. Do you dry them seeing how many you have? I can imagine it being a pain to dry seeing how tiny they are. I normally use a food dehydrator

    • @Liap
      @Liap  Рік тому

      Hello, yes I dried them on window net (in horizontal position) and covered with fine gauze.
      I still have these, dried in a cloth bag, around 400grams dried peppers (together with greenhouse harvest).
      Drying was easy, the "pain" was to harvest the greenhouse plants, it takes time to pick them one by one 🙂
      Thank you very much for watching and taking time to leave a comment! Good luck growing your Charapitas 🍀

      I recently moved about 1.5 hours north of Toronto. Population of about 20,000. It's more my pace of living....lol!
      I'm assuming that drying them whole would take a bit longer even being as tiny as they are. I usually cut my peppers in half when I dry them. I have a variety of seeds germinating from lemon drop to Dragons breath and a few in between. I really hope my Aji have a decent success rate. I've been wanting to try growing them for a while! I didn't soak them mind you. Straight to the moist paper towel method which is how I do all my veggies 👍🏼😊

    HI Thanks for the video. I am going to look into them up to see about the heat or taste of them. By your video they look like the type of pepper that would grow well in South Texas. Also thanks on the info about the fertilizer. Take care

      If you want to bring your pepper plants indoors for winter, there is always a risk they won't make it. To increase their chances, cut down the foliage to minimum and also reduce watering to minimum.
