Ed Currie is one of my idols, he not only has the sense of humor but the horticultural knowledge. I respect and support his endeavors. He's not only trying to fight cancer, he's trying to burn your lips off while he does it, he is cutting cleanly with both edges of the double edged sword. Before all of the recently common plant based supplements started hitting the shelves and becoming popular, he was always at the frontlines with good ol peppers. I can always respect someone that looks at a plant and its alkaloids and says "You know what, lets make it even stronger". The man is a horticultural, culinary and medical pioneer.
Mother nature is an amazing force. A little warm sunshine and some gentle showers turn a sweet tiny little seed into a verdant lush plant producing beautiful little scorching fruits of pain! Keep up the great work Ed, you are a good man, regardless what your crew say about you.....
Ed, thanks so much for the video! I’ve got about a dozen varieties right on the cusp of transplanting. So glad to have your videos as a resource so I know when to hit the “go” button! Wishing you and yours happiness and health in the 2024 growing season ❤
It's like you knew exactly what I needed to see Ed! I have some shrivelling Reaper plants (straight from your farm), and I can see from this video I just transplanted a little early. Great tips for acclimatising them to sunshine, I'll be using that over the next few weeks
Nice. I didn't do super hots outside this year. But got quit a few hot peppers varieties.. habenero ( so slooow lol) , cowhorn, Tabasco, Thai hot, mexibell, serrano, Holland bell pepper are just a few. Plan on cross pollinating some new varieties.. im gonna do some ghost & reapers inside this winter. You're on point man with acclimated plants also.. also needs to be done for newly outside tomatoes .. putting my cannabis plants outside next week in the 90s lol

Hello Ed, I just wanted to say, “I love watching your videos.” You provided a lot of great tips growing chilies. I had subscribed to your channel. Thank you 😊
1 oz castile soap and 2 oz of cold pressed neem oil in a spray bottle with spring water. Use on foliage and dirt, repeat every 3 days until they're gone.
Stunted my reaper with soggy soil. It's finally got 4 leaves total and if I can't get it to produce this year I'll just toss it in a bucket or something under a grow light for the winter. Also hoping we get some pepper x seeds soon haha!
Great video! I liked how you guys taught how you harden off plants and dig holes in a dry soil to get it to absorb water with less running off on the sides.

Aloha Ed. Great video brother. Just a quick question. What was bubba spreading over the plants in the back ground. Thanks again for all the great content. Aloha
I'm on the pnw and transplanted a week ago, some older leaves are sun burned but are getting new growth, supposed to get down to 45° at night for a few days, hope my babies will be ok.
I'm not 100% sure if the plant i have is a reaper or not but I'm hoping, got it at a local plant nursery. When I transplanted it I kinda treated it like I would an indoor cannabis plant. She seems healthy so far. Thank you for being so sadistic man.
I got 40-50 reapers off my plant last year. I cleaned, trimmed and transplanted the plant to bring it indoors (under my grow lights). It's come back tenfold, and has tons of flowers, but the flowers just keep falling off. Any suggestions?
@@timtorkelson7201 I'm actually growing it in a substrate called PON, made by Lechuza. It's like crack for plants. I will try hand pollination with a makeup brush.
So I have read the average time to sprout is about 28 days. This video you say in about a week some have sprouted. Is there an average time or it just happens when it happens?
Nice!! Thanks guys. Hey, and what to do with those little round bugs below the leaf? I have them too and get rid of them manually, but there are only like 7 leaves... when they grow it will be impossible. What can I do to keep my Carolinas healthy?
@ed currie, soak your seeds in tea or weak acid and scarify them, or plant them straight and let the strong survive? I'm personally in between, soaked some and they still have a hard time getting the seed shell off, but you can't kill the underdog just in case!
I've read and experimented on putting plants under a purple light which generally increases growth. With some pepper plants being delicate, would it have the same effects?
My reapers are younger but more compact but I live in new england and the sun is weaker. Anyway Neem oil doesn't do so much I fine and the bugs are back the next day. So I just rub them off with my fingers.
i currently have a jalapeno plant thats just started to fully flower. i didnt transplant outside though. hopefully that will be ok. newfoundland weather is super unpredictable so i feel safer with it inside. i wish i had reaper seeds to try and grow but thats ok :) some day. hope i don't miss this one. take care everyone

That might work together. It’s hard to explain the taste of those berries, they are kinda like a tart marmalade. So perhaps some habanero cloud berry preserves
Plenty of light is getting in there, you could cover it with a dark mesh cloth(shadecloth, great for hardening off seedlings) and stuff would still grow great. Greenhouse are more for protection against the elements and keeping a close overall avg temperature so the plants won't stress.
Genuine question.. I hear people saying not to leave young plants out in the sun, but pepper plants in the wild would have to grow from seed in the sun, right?
That applies to peppers grown indoors where they haven't been exposed to the sun. That's what they were referring to when they mentioned hardening off. Expose those plants to a little sun every day until they are used to it so they don't burn up. Plants can get sunburned too. 🙂
I'm real disappointed that we ordered 40 seeds from Amazon of Ed's Carolina reaper seeds and every single one in the little package was squashed. I planted and prayed. But nothing came through it's been 2 months
