We managed to film so much wildlife on our roadtrip to Scotland that we thought it deserved a video of it's own.
From Great Northern Divers to White Tailed Eagles and Otters to hunting Seals, we saw so much beauty out there.

A "fair few people" enjoying the wildlife? I can certainly see why, Dave and Sue! We're currently seeing some great wildlife here in northern Canada. But, there's no more than a few people! Every couple of hours or so. 😁😁 Plenty of loons though! Love their haunting call. We love watching the herons fishing too. Even more than the fish! 🤣🤣 Some amazing footage here and we loved coming along.

I’d t it just brilliant to watch the wildlife in a new location. We wandered off from the mainstream to watch and film. There are organised wildlife trips for the big money shots but just didn’t fancy them this time

I bet you have in your mind all the places you'd like to return too and all the new places to explore also! Shore birds are always quite interesting to watch as they always seem on the move...at least here in our area. An of course, we can't forget those otters...awesome!!
Absolutely right Bruce. We will revisit some places for sure and already planning on new areas too. So much to see wherever you go - we loved every second!

It was a really incredible trip Jen. Always something new to see! Loved filming some new species and was so wanting to film Otters and Eagles. And achieved that so very happy indeed! The Eagle left it late. Filmed at around 9pm on our last day in Ardnamurchan 🎉🎉

So so beautiful, I love the look of Scotland and there certainly seems to be a lot of it from this video! Loved the bird feeder footage and the blackbirds are adorable. Got to love the common gulls too, they're so pretty, the seagulls are a bit scary though in our garden trying to steal the bird food 😃 The hunters are gorgeous too and the otters sooo adorable. Perfect music for this. That was so good Dave and I'm glad you caught the Eagle too ~ Anna 👍
Cheers Anna - Gosh yes, Herring Gulls are such pests but beautiful to watch the little Common Gulls.
Just so pleased to see Otters and an Eagle on the last day on Ardnamurchan was the icing on the cake. 🎉

Really surprised on the Sparrows Serge - a fairly wild place where we filmed them and they nest in eaves and such.
Gosh that place is unbelievable! So wild, remote and beautiful - have to get back!

👍 #33 Hi Dave and Sue, I hope you are both well and things are good for you right now. The 'Wild West' of Scotland sure is a magnet for so many birds and you captured some great scenes. I particularly like the Eiders on 4:22. The colours of their heads remind me of a cyclist with one of the 'racing' helmets on... if you know what I mean? And it's nice to end on the iconic White-tailed Eagle. Thank you as always my dear friends. Have a great weekend! 👍◕‿◕
Thanks Jane. It was such a wonderful trip. We managed to find some lovely spots. We didn’t go on any of the tours for the money shots as we wanted to find the wildlife for ourselves.
So it was special just sitting and watching!

@@NBNatureTrailvan you can't beat finding your own Wildlife and being the only one there (or only 2) to quietly enjoy your special encounters. I'm so happy for you that your 'gamble' of what seemed to me like 'buy a trailer van and then learn as we go along'? has paid off for you, in that despite a few expected hiccups, you have come through that and enjoyed some fabulous memories... here's to the many you have yet to make. 👍◕‿◕

Absolutely LOVE this, Dave! You do great work capturing the wildlife on camera! There was so much to see and hear. Wish we'd gotten more of it on our videos. One memory we have is of hearing cuckoo birds just about every place we went! So funny! 😅

We love hearing cuckoos over here. They migrate back in the Spring from Africa
The Cuckoo call is supposed to signal the start of Spring.
It was strange hearing cuckoos in Scotland as we had been listening to them at home for about three weeks - so they were just arriving in the North 😃

So glad you got to see many for the first time, I've only seen Wheatears on the South Coast. Love those Dippers. I was going to ask if the American Loon was the same bird but you answered that. Love those otters ❤❤❤ 20:10

Lovely video ℹ particularly liked the deer silhouettes. Used to love seeing the white tailed eagle on our daily walk. Em 💜

Great video and some stunning photography. We're terrible at identifying birds so have just purchased a book to keep at the front of the motorhome. Unfortunately, by the time I've stopped, the birds have flown away. Think we saw an eagle on the Isle of Harris last year but can't be certain. Anyway, you've inspired me to put my DSLR back in Gustav!

I’ve got a decent mirrorless after the DSLR finally packed up. But I’m still struggling to find a decent tripod \ mount combination. I do love shooting handheld but the footage is just too jerky!
