One year in India with the ODK. That’s the oriental dwarf kingfisher. It’s way more exciting than it may seem. What a place. The sounds of the forests are AMAZING. Need to switch off for an hour? What this. You’ll come back refreshed and calm. Enjoy.
When I click into these documentaries I already know as fact that my Anxiety, Depression and PTSD will be soothed away! The sounds and colors are a wonderful distraction to my anxious and negative thoughts. I am greatful for the Most beautiful nature having the opportunity to lull me into a peaceful and serene sleep. 🥰😇😍
Listening to this as I do some baking in the kitchen. How peaceful and lovely to be accompanied by this naturalist! I can travel, learn, be serenaded by birds, and be in a beautiful environment--all without leaving my kitchen.
I've lived in Thailand for 22 years, and 'do' bird rescue on our little island. I've actually had 2 of these wonderful little birds to care for in the past few years. One was badly injured after flying into a window (sadly it didn't make it), and the other was brought to me after a storm. It was exhausted, and probably hadn't eaten during the almost 3 days and nights of strong wind and heavy rain. It was wonderful to see it fly off after 3 or 4 days of care... like a jewel in flight! I ended up with almost a dozen different birds over the days following the storm, but that amazing little Asian Kingfisher taking off towards the mountain is a memory that will stay with me...
These are amazing birds, in India too they are found flying into the windows especially the glass normally end of monsoons , keep up the good work of saving birds my friend
Thanks for sharing! The closest I've ever come in TX is being fortunate enough to touch a hummingbird saving it. I even had to jostle one out of a spider web once! Those Kingfishers are incredible and it's no wonder they have inspired so much myth and art among the peoples of their home.
I have no words to express my happiness after watching this video. Only extra - ordinary and great nature loving person like you make this possible. I felt so close to mother nature. God bless you with strength and success.
As a birder, i couldn't resist clicking on this video, ...just long enough to see the gorgeous bird in the photo, I told myself. I was pulled in to watch every minute. Birds are fascinating. This seasonal glimpse into a pair of Oriental Dwarf Kingfishers nesting lives captured my full attention. 💖 Thank you for making this documentary!!
It's my Cockatiel's HATCHDAY, so we're watching bird docs today! He has to hide from some of these mating shots cuz he IS only 4! Lovely free doc. I watch a lot of stuff like this, and having the narrator track his goings on visiting the sites of these gorgeous Kingfishers feels surprisingly intimate. It has the style of a typical "prestige" style detached nature narrator but some of the familiarity of a host led nature show. It's very notable as many naturalists have spilled ink for centuries about how best to advocate for nature, with "scientific" detachment or "over anthropomorphizing" involvement. Personally, I think it's best to find a balance between sentiments. Remember, when Jane Goodall was naming the gorillas she was studying, it was seen as foolish and unscientific even though her work was so vital. I'm so used to very distant narration in nature docs, so this one describing their distress looking for birds after a storm and delight seeing birds roosting at night extremely refreshing. Its wild how much "this morning, I watched this hornbill" changes the framing.
Kingfisher birds were hunted for their velvety feathers. However, due to strict Animal protection laws that has reduced. There is this white breasted kingfisher that blessed me with its presence one morning when I was in my balcony ( India). I couldnt believe how beautiful, vibrant, velvelty feathers it has. Such a mesmerising bird.
I loved this documentary. Just straight, honest documenting from a person who is clearly so passionate about these animals, and the area. I really enjoyed this so much. I didn't want it to end. Such beautiful birds...I'm so happy all four ODK chicks survived to venture out into the world. Please do more!!! Wonderful work!
Thank you so much for this great piece of documentary. This is such a great documentary. Feels so satisfying to watch nature at its best without human interaction. Such a beautiful biodiversity of life.
thank you so much! Such an immense joy watching your documentary! And it's really great to be reminded of how nature can be both beautiful and terribly harsh at the same time!
Thank you too. I never knew of the odk kingfisher they're colors are so spectacular the most. However im a nature lover. So I did appreciate you documenting all the creatures in the film❣️ Thank very much for showing different species that I haven't seen before❣️❣️❣️
I have always enjoyed nature documentaries, but they became almost a guilty pleasure during the pandemic lockdown. It was, and still is, very soothing to be able to "travel" to exotic locations around the globe and see how other species survive. There is not a mask anywhere and many members of the animal kingdom are barely 6 inches apart, never mind 6 feet.
I want to congratulate you for your dedication when creating this beautiful video. I have travelled to India, without moving a feet from my living room, thanks to your magnificent work. Thanks for sharing your awesome video.
An amazing documentary! The country is so beautiful and so the birds. Fall madly in love with the ODKs. Thank you for all yours hard work with the team to make this fab video. Can’t wait to watch the next one.
Our pleasure! And so glad you loved it. This is one of my favorite docs too. The sounds of nature with not too much music is very zen and just beautiful
A magnificent portrayal of the beauty of the natural wild bird life which sadly only some people of the world are fortunate to live with. I have enjoyed your excellent presentation of your documentary and hopefully look forward to futher presentations.
I have been watching the heartbreaking Israel news most of the day,& “ ran onto” this lovely Documentary. Oh my goodness, it was SO soothing and relaxing to the brain and body! Thank you so very much for ALL you put forth to make this Documentary.👍🏼♥️

This is my cat’s favorite thing to watch. He will sit in front of my iPad and watch this whole thing and then fall asleep at the very end. I could probably narrate this documentary with the amount of times I’ve had to watch this lmao
how wonderful - it's always a shame when the identity of the narrator/documenter is not displayed (or not immediately imminent) on their hard work - i like to look up the other work they've done and be inspired
Such a painstaking effort to produce this amazing story took me to a another planet where I feel complete serenity and calmness of watch the splendid nature . Thank you all for a soothing documentary . Please show the exact location in the world map by zooming it then this program much more interesting . Once again hats off for the excellent effort

The opportunity to view birds I would never get the chance to see had it not been for your amazing filming. Priceless.
These birds are adorned so beautifully................and with so much color.
I express my sincere gratitude to your efforts for showing the beautiful world of colorful birds and the nature they struggle to survive.
Many thanks
