What a great choice. That riff in the middle is KILLER. There wasn't a kid who didn't air guitar to Deep Purple at some point when I was growing up! Consider "Knockin at Your Back Door", "Call of the Wild", and "Bad Attitude" when considered your next DP song.
Cool! I personally love every part of Deep Purple's catalogue, ever, but you're kind of the first I've seen who recommended a reaction to something by them that's NOT 70s. Kudos! :-D
This is from their 1984 "reunion" album of the same name. After 9 years of inactivity, they came out with this great album. Check out another great song off this album titled "Knocking At Your Backdoor". By the way, I consider Ian Gillan's vocal style to be quite similar to Robert Plant's, with the improvised wails and moans.

Deep Purple are one of the greatest bands in rock history. Their classic line-up of Ian Gillan - Lead Vocals Ritchie Blackmore - Guitars Roger Glover - Bass John Lord - Keyboards Ian Paice - Drums and Percussion Rod Evans did the Lead Vocals on their first 3 releases, the biggest hit of this era was "Hush". An absolute masterpiece with Lord's Keyboards leading the way. As I am not sure if you have reacted to, I will make suggestions based on my opinion. "Machine Head" is their perfect (every song is rippin') album. From "Highway Star" to "Smoke on the Water" to "Lazy" to Ash Williams' (Evil Dead franchise) favorite "Space Truckin", "Woman from Tokyo". When Ian Gillan and Roger Glover left the band they were replaced by Glenn Hughes on Bass and Vocals, and an at the time, unknown vocalist named David Coverdale, later of Whitesnake. The title track "Burn" is an absolute, no pun intended, burner. In 1984, the classic line-up reformed and gave us the album "Perfect Strangers". Deep Purple as a band are mentioned with the likes of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath as Heavy Metal pioneers. Thanks again for introducing great music to a new generation. You guys are awesome.
Yes very important to remember! Excellent explanation! Different versions of the same band. The best lineup by far though! When these guys put behind their differences and made music it was surely classic! A bit different sounding because it was a decade later but still the best of Deep Purple! This whole album can be listened start to finish! Many classics on here! Thanks for your explanation! So many don’t realize the changes.
For Jay who likes Smoke On The Water, any track off that album "Machine Head" is worth a listen. One of the overall greatest lp's from start to finish ever recorded
You really need to listen to “Child in Time” next. The vocals, organ and guitar are totally off the charts. I’m willing to bet all I have that Ian’s vocals will cause your jaws to hit the floor.
Check out Deep Purple' "Knocking At Your Back Door" - the other big radio track from the same album. It also has a nice spooky horror soundtrack vibe to it, parts of it - similar to "Perfect Strangers."
This was a reunion album in 84. They hadn't done an album since 75. In the meantime circa 81, a lot of these guys ended up in Whitesnake. For a couple years, Whitesnake had more Deep Purple members than Whitesnake guys lol This singer also sang for Black Sabbath for one album in 83
Some of the best parts of Deep Purple Music is how Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and Keyboard /Organist John Lord accompany each other note for note. That guitar part you talk about Jay is both a guitar and an organ matching notes .
Now in my “older age”, this is my favorite Deep Purple song. Sometimes I have to pinch myself over all the classic rock concerts I’ve seen. Saw this tour and saw when the same singer (Ian Gillan) was lead singer for Black Sabbath for one tour. His voice was as good as studio live both times. Absolutely primal. The staccato rhythm is in the spirit of Kashmir but with the creepy sounding keys in the background is so compelling and unique.
'Perfect strangers' came 12 years after the iconic album 'Machine head' in 1972, which delivered 'Smoke on the water' and other classics... In 1984, that Deep Purple line-up finally came back together for the first time since 1973 (Deep Purple carried on w/ new members until their breakup in 1976). All 5 members played in different projects - guitarist Ritchie Blackmore in the band Rainbow, which he later hired bassist Roger Glover... Ian Gillan played in various solo bands, including Gillan, and had just done 1 album & tour as the singer of Black Sabbath in 1983... Jon Lord (keyboards) and Ian Paice (drums) had spent a few years playing in Whitesnake w/ former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale. In the early 80's, the classic 5 members started talking about reuniting Deep Purple and that finally happened in 1984... they got together, recorded the album 'Perfect strangers' and toured worldwide into 1985, mounting a spectacular comeback. Unfortunately, the reunion would go sour by 1988, primarily because of guitarist Ritchie Blackmore's controlling tendencies and erratic demands... Ian Gillan wanted to tour actively, but Blackmore was not inclined to. Gillan later reflected that when they had 4 guys who wanted to be a band... and 1 guy who wants to run it all single-handedly, it doesn't work. He also recalled that because of missed opportunities to play live and Blackmore's erratic moods on stage, their concerts were not selling up to expectations. Gillan was fired in 1989 and the band recorded 1 album in 1990 w/ ex-Rainbow singer Joe Lynn Turner... But the rest of the band (minus Blackmore) wanted Ian Gillan back for Deep Purple's 25th anniversary in 1993... Ritchie Blackmore, frustrated w/ the musical direction, quit Deep Purple late that year... All 4 Deep Purple members were interviewed afterwards, and they all voiced their frustrations w/ the legendary guitarist... Jon Lord said that he would 'sulk like a little boy'... Ian Paice subtly said that if Blackmore went onstage w/ a problem, the whole band had a problem... Roger Glover grumbled that if he went on stage and felt like he didn't belong there cos they sounded so bad, he just wanted to run offstage and not come back... In 1994, Deep Purple hired former Kansas guitarist Steve Morse to join the band... and after a while, it proved to be the right decision. The band released the 'Purpendicular' album in 1996 and toured actively, w/ most of the issues gone. Ian Gillan revealed that once Steve Morse joined Deep Purple, they had a guy that made rehearsing and playing live enjoyable... and after a while, the fans accepted the change, crowds at their concerts got bigger and touring became a priority once again.
A great example of early metal music! Deep Purple, along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, are known as the "unholy trinity" of hard rock and heavy metal. The lead singer is Ian Gillan (who later was the vocalist for Black Sabbath). Richie Blackmore wanted someone who could match the range & screams of Robert Plant, of Led Zeplin. Ian's, bone chilling, "Child in Time" is possibly more than what Plant could have delivered, UNBELEIVEABLE! "Child" is the pinnacle of Ian's vocal abilities! A must reaction! Live on the British TV show "Doing Their Thing" 1970 is the best to react to. One other unique factoid of Ian Gillan is he starred as Jesus, in Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera, "Jesus Christ Superstar".
This album dropped my freshman year of high school in 1984….it was a reunion album it’s amazing…Was luck enough to see them once in concert again amazing
Smoke on the Water used to be my favorite Deep Purple song until I heard this. I love the video because you see them recording and it's like you are just watching a bunch of guys hanging out. But this song is amazing. I saw the house they are recording in on one of the UA-cam videos that records abandoned mansions and this was one of them. They even talked about how there was a recording studio in the basement that Deep Purple would record in. Then I listened to Child In Time by Deep Purple and wondered if that was my favorite. There is no comparison to these guys. They are all incredible. RIP Jon Lord.
Love this song! This was the 1985 return of Deep Purple's classic lineup. Ian Gillan- Vocals Ritchie Blackmore- Guitar Roger Glover- Bass Jon Lord- Organ Ian Paice- Drums
@@lethiapage4767 Glenn Hughes and David Coverdale replaced Ian Gillan and Roger Glover in September 1973. They remained until the band broke up in 1976. I saw DP twice in 1973, once with Gillan and Glover, and once with Coverdale and Hughes.
Deep Purples signature distorted organ sound was achieved by plugging the output of their Hammond organ through a guitar amp to get the distortion. I agree that Highway Star should definitely be your next song by them.
I got to see Deep Purple, with the Perfect Strangers tour, back in 1985 in Vancouver Canada as a 16 year old kid. What can I say? It was amazing, and is still my favorite concert I've seen. They are all so talented you don't know where to start, and the music just rocks. I still remember John Lord on his big Hammond organ rocking it back and forth as he played. I thought it was going to land in the front row!
Deep Purple .... Amazing Band , Ian Gillan - Vocals , the Great Richie Blackmore - Guitar , Jon Lord on Keyboards , Roger Glover on Bass , and Ian Paice on Drums
The voice is Ian Gillan. He's been the lead singer most of the history of Deep Purple. David Coverdale (of White Snake) took over for a few years (73-75) and Joe Lynn Turner (89-92) for a few. The lyrics were inspired from a character named Elric in a sword and sorcery series from the 70s by the author Michael Moorcock. Side note... Blue Oyster Cult has a song called "Black Blade" that comes from the same Elric character. He was known to wield a sword called Stormbringer that tends to possess the owner and cause them to do evil things.
Highway Star Mistreated Burn Pictures of Home Yes to more Deep Purple. Just a great rockin band. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦
I got to see them live right after they released this cd. I loved hearing all their hits, the show was great, but when they played this song it was AMAZING..! The sound was simply incredible, it was the best song of the show.
Got to watch Child in time live. Awesome vocals from Ian Gillan. Octaves that most of us cannot achieve. You won't be disappointed. Keep up the great music.
If you do "Knocking At Your Back Door" make sure it is the official video! It pokes a little fun at anyone trying to recreate their music in the future. They make a similar point in this tune too. No matter how many tunes you hear from the old days, you still must remain perfect strangers to those days and in some ways to those of us who were there.
4:36 and what makes their heavy sound different from other bands is that they use an actual Hammond organ on and guitar amplifier turned up to where the sound gets distorted..
This Album was their first album when they got back together after many years of being broken up. WHEN THEY GOT BACK TOGETHER THEY WERE LIKE PERFECT STRANGERS. You definitely need to review KNOCKINF AT YOUR BACK DOOR as well as MY WOMAN FROM TOKYO
This song and this band was one of the few that was ahead of their time. The way they used dischordant progressions and unexpected rythms. The smoking Guitar Riffs, and the voice that was otherworldly singing about mysterious things with mysterious rythms and a unique style. I just can't put it into worlds, but his vibe, was a thing, and still is, but this was where it came from. And a few other bands as well. They were all experimenting along these surreal lines. It was music, but it was also Epic Musical Storytelling. They brought you into the secret netherworld of magic and dragons and impossible tasks and unimaginable victories. Saga. Again, I can't find the words, but this was Album Rock that had a theme, and the theme was another world of adventure and sacrifice. Heavy Metal. And there is a movie called heavy Metal that is an animated movie with a Heavy Metal Soundtrack, and you guys should review it on your movie channel. It was a BIG DEAL back in the day. It may seem corny at first, but you will get into it and the music is great. Databyter ,
That's my band!!! Suggestions: "My Woman From Tokyo", "Black Night", "Knocking at Your Back Door". I own every album they've ever made. Well, compact disc, but I started off with their 8 tracks back in the seventies.
Right there with ya Dave!! GO PURPLEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!AND TO ME THOSE 5 RIGHT THERE,,, ARE PURPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MR.PAICE MOST OF ALL,, ORIGINAL FTOM THE WORD GO!!
Before I even start this song: LUV YOU LUV YOU. Two of my absolute favs on the same evening !! Lennon and Purple. Doesn't get ANY better. Amber, this was their comeback song after a nearly 10 year hiatus. All the lyrics reflect that they've been away, "Hope you remember my name"
Can never go wrong with Deep Purple. Of course you mention the Smoke On The Water riff. It's only one of the most famous riffs ever. This is band is one of originators of metal. They've influenced so many artists particularly in metal.
Great song and comeback album by them, we saw that tour and Blackmore was on a mission to show everyone that Deep Purple was still alive and well. From the same album try Knocking at Your Back Door, another classic from a band with a boatload of them. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎹🎤🎶
This song is off their 1st album together after being broken up 9 years. They were like perfect strangers and that's why song says I'm an echo of your past. They got back together but since it was 9 years they didn't know each other anymore and their past felt like an echo
This was a reunion in the 80s of the second Deep Purple lineup (Ritchie Blackmore guitar, Ian Gillian vocals, Roger Glover bass, Jon Lord keyboards, and Ian Paice on drums) which was the most commercially successful version of the band....
This was the best Deep Purple lineup over the years. They had been estranged from each other for a very long time but buried the hatchet and came together for the Perfect Strangers album. You can see in the video they are getting along quite well. One of the all time great bands!
"Highway Star" and "Space Truckin'" are two epic rock songs by Deep Purple that you should definitely check out! The album versions. No video necessary. They're so well recorded!
The most underrated band of all time. The best all time keyboardist, and top 5 drummer and guitarist. And band members that went in and out of several bands. Deep Purple, Rainbow, Ritchie Blackmores'Rainbow, Rainbow with Joe Lynn Turner, Dio, Black Sabbath with Dio, even Alcatraz. But Deep Purple's legacy is unmatched. U could call them the Godfathers of progressive rock.
Smoke on the water is the first hard rock song I remember hearing. My cousin had it on 8 track. The tour for this album I finally got to see them. It was an amazing concert.
The second single (released Jan 1985) from Deep Purple's 11th studio album, and the reunion of the Mark 2 line up (1970-1973) of Deep Purple after 11 years. The album reached number 17 on the Billboard Top 20 album chart. The lyrics to the song are said to be inspired by the sword and sorcery Elric books of English writer Michael Moorcock.
As Beeracuda noted, the Mark IV lineup of Deep Purple reassembled and put the band back on the map. This was a dynamite album, and the next was, too. However the issues between Ritchie and the rest of the band continued until he left for good and put all his focus and energy into Rainbow and writing with Ronnie James Dio.
I was 7 years old in 1970..I remember sneaking out of bed and sneakily watching deep purple from the hallway on Midnight Special ..🙂...I was hooked on Rick n roll from that moment on🤘
I saw them live in 84 in Adelaide , South Australia when this album was first released and they were absolutely amazing, better than the studio version.
This was the first album they recorded after getting back together.. 8 years apart.. They are basically singing about how they moved through our lives with their music over the years.. "Van you remember.. Remember my name? As I flow through your life.. A thousand oceans I have flown.."..
I loved this album. My personal favorite from the album was Knocking At Your Back Door. I highly recommend it and think that intro will just blow you away.
This my favorite DP song! That riff is everything! I heard the song was about the group coming back together after a long time apart. Thanks for reacting to this one!
Love me some Deep Purple! Knockin' at Your Back Door is also a good tune from 80s era DP. They were consistently great from the late 60s to mid-80s or so. I think the running joke is that just about every musician has been in Deep Purple at one time or another 💜.
One of the best concerts I've ever seen. They had a maestro made of a laser conducting the band. As the band played faster the conductor got faster. It was awesome!!!
They are my all time favorite group and Ian Gillan is my favorite singer ever and \i saw them twice the first was cause I went to see Black Sabbath and I better enjoyed Deep Purple and saw them a second time. I was 22 when I first hear Ian and the guys and I'm now 71 and they are still y favorite group. My second favorite singer is Jimi Jamison who sang for Survivor and had a solo career and sadly died at age63. I find that most reactors do Eye Of the Tiger with Dave Bickler and I like it better by Jimi. You should listen to Man Against The World by Survivor I guarantee you will enjoy the song and many others by Survivor with Jimi singing
Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore is a virtuoso , his solo's are amazing and his live playing is nothing short of jaw dropping. Check out Stargazer by his other band Rainbow, you will not be disappointed.
When I was 14 , I went to the very last "Texas Jam" when Purple was the big headlining act. This was when David Coverdale from Whitesnake was their singer. At the show right as Purple took the stage I fell down a bunch of bleachers and injured my right knee. Have needed surgery on it since then.
This is definitely a solid DP song, a good rocker, but for that extra quality you guys should check out "Wasted sunsets" from the same album, a far superior outing with arguably one of Ritchie's best guitar solos ever (which by definition makes it one of the best guitar solos ever, with all things being even), and Gillan's distinctive voice emoting in a passionate bluesy tone.
Saw this tour. Saw PURPLE 8 times! I have this album still. KILLER band! They are one of the high end, Hard Rock Classic bands. This album was kind of a big deal when it came out in 85 because the original band had been broken up for years and were recording and going to tour this. We were waiting. I had good tickets for Damn sure! You see why I’m so insistent on what I KNOW is badass?! You really should pay attention to the the songs I validate for you. You WILL NOT be disappointed ever! I personally guarantee that.
This is the reformation of the Mark II lineup. Ian Gillan-Vocals Ritchie Blackmore-Guitar Jon Lord-Keyboards Ian Paice-Drums Roger Glover-Bass I saw them five times on this tour. This live they had lasers depicting Mozart leading a symphony on that break down riff. They were quite incredible live!!!
What I loved about this video, besides it being a great song, was knowing that this was real, this was the first time in many years they had been in a room together recording, and still hating each other at the same time. You can feel it in these scenes and hear it in the words.
Was lucky enough to see this tour at the T-dome which was and is still the loudest concert ever played there and that was back in 84'. Three things I remember was they played for over 3 hours, Ritchie Blackmore's guitar solo was awesome and Jon Lord's organ solo was epic.
Yes, saw them on that same tour as well as 4 other times during the 70s and 80s, always a great show live! Any song of theirs will be worth your time definitely! Great band!
Deep Purple is in my top 2 ever bands, This song kicks my butt. Check out Rat Bat BLUE. This band is still making great music. One more awesome fact is that the band makes the music and when it is done Ian Gillian then writes the words. Amazing.
This song is the first entry on my playlist SPECIFICALLY for scenes of epic battles when I am running a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. I just added "Immigrant Song" and I think maybe "Run to the Hills" might make it on there too. But yeah, EPIC BATTLE SHALL COMMENCE is totally the vibe I got from this track.
Highway Star,is a MUST DP at their best loud and heavy.best road song ever,Child In Time is also a ripper.keep up the great reviews you 2.have a good one guys.
You guys were so deeply grooving during the instrumental (5/4, 4/4) part. The "intense, battle, heavy" part, as you described it. The time signature keeps the tension going.
Must do burn. That has David Coverdale on vocals. This is one of their absolute greatest songs. This was the reunion album of the original Mark II line up. They didn't record from 1976 until 1984. And this is one hell of a great record
Perfect Strangers is my 2nd favorite Deep Purple song. Space Truckin' is my first favorite song by Deep Purple. Knockin' on your back door is my 3rd song by Deep Purple, Highway Star is 4th on my Deep Purple list. And Smoke on the Water is my #5 favorite song from Deep Purple.
"Highway Star" HAS TO be your next Deep Purple song. It has a multitude of changes and is as high-energy a song as you can find.

Absolutely!!! One of my all time favourite!!
Agreed 100%!
Yes, yes yes!! That was my suggestion in my comment. Amazing song, and the guitar and keyboard solos in the middle section are to die for.

@@trjbrew thank you. He is a force as well. And as good a time asany to mention black country communion. I thi k jason bonham was in there?
@@lethiapage4767 Glenn Hughes and David Coverdale replaced Ian Gillan and Roger Glover in September 1973. They remained until the band broke up in 1976. I saw DP twice in 1973, once with Gillan and Glover, and once with Coverdale and Hughes.
84😁
Deep Purples signature distorted organ sound was achieved by plugging the output of their Hammond organ through a guitar amp to get the distortion.
I agree that Highway Star should definitely be your next song by them.
One of the groups I just don't think had any bad music or performances. They are just that dang good.
It doesn’t get any “DEEPER” than “PURPLE” 💜🎶💜🎶💜🎶💜
I got to see Deep Purple, with the Perfect Strangers tour, back in 1985 in Vancouver Canada as a 16 year old kid. What can I say? It was amazing, and is still my favorite concert I've seen. They are all so talented you don't know where to start, and the music just rocks. I still remember John Lord on his big Hammond organ rocking it back and forth as he played. I thought it was going to land in the front row!
"Lazy" is their best tune. In fact, anything off the "Machine head" album is their best work.
“Lazy” is awesome.
Lazy is my favourite rock song. Full stop.
“Burn” is definately a 🔥banger! (studio version please)
Black Blades Matter. Stormbringer did nothing wrong.
he also did a great job as Jesus Christ on the original Jesus Christ superstar sound track.
Did you forget about Rod Evans who went into the Hall of Fame with Purple & not Joe Lynn Turner. Plus they had their first big hit with Rod, Hush
Hawkwind did the same thing, but dedicated a whole album to it called "Chronicle of the black sword"
And he also sang for Black Sabbath.
Highway Star
Mistreated
Burn
Pictures of Home
Yes to more Deep Purple.
💯 Per cent
If you do "Knocking At Your Back Door" make sure it is the official video! It pokes a little fun at anyone trying to recreate their music in the future. They make a similar point in this tune too. No matter how many tunes you hear from the old days, you still must remain perfect strangers to those days and in some ways to those of us who were there.
Deep Purple,-(Woman from Tokyo) should be next for you guys. Keep up with the good work 😎👍
4:36 and what makes their heavy sound different from other bands is that they use an actual Hammond organ on and guitar amplifier turned up to where the sound gets distorted..
Databyter ,
Ritchie Blackmore came up with one of the most unique and catchy riffs ever created with this one.
My favorite Deep Purple song. This song is just a vibe and one you feel.
Best Deep Purple song. Jon Lord playing on the organ is fire!
How could anyone not be bopping thier head while listening to this great song. 👍👍👍👍
Can never go wrong with Deep Purple. Of course you mention the Smoke On The Water riff. It's only one of the most famous riffs ever. This is band is one of originators of metal. They've influenced so many artists particularly in metal.
They've certainly had bigger hit songs, but this is my all time favorite song from Deep Purple. It rocks from start to finish.
Lazy, Highway Star, and Space Trucking are must listens when it comes to Deep Purple!
Great song and comeback album by them, we saw that tour and Blackmore was on a mission to show everyone that Deep Purple was still alive and well. From the same album try Knocking at Your Back Door, another classic from a band with a boatload of them. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎹🎤🎶
Highway Star is a must for Deep Purple. Also Lazy, Child In Time, Space Truckin, and Burn.
Deep Purple comes on and my hands magically crank the sound to 11+ 🤘😎👍
This song is off their 1st album together after being broken up 9 years.
Saw Deep Purple in concert back in the day. Phenomenal concert. I think your next DP song should be "Knocking at your backdoor." 🤘😎💜
Live version of Child In Time is a MUST. The vocal is absolutely outstanding and it’s hard to imagine anyone else even trying it.
This is one of my favorite Deep Purple songs.
This was the best Deep Purple lineup over the years. They had been estranged from each other for a very long time but buried the hatchet and came together for the Perfect Strangers album. You can see in the video they are getting along quite well. One of the all time great bands!
Perfect Strangers Straight Up the best comeback album from a legendary band period.There.I said it !!
"Highway Star" and "Space Truckin'" are two epic rock songs by Deep Purple that you should definitely check out! The album versions. No video necessary. They're so well recorded!
All time classic riff. Great song, great choice guys.
One of the BEST REUNION Albums ever in Music History !!!
Each of them were in the very tippy top of their chosen instrument. Period.
Classic mark 2 lineup, 3 albums from 1970-72, In Rock, Fireball and Machine Head, perfect trifecta, not many bands can pull that off.
I was 7 years old in 1970..I remember sneaking out of bed and sneakily watching deep purple from the hallway on Midnight Special ..🙂...I was hooked on Rick n roll from that moment on🤘
I miss the Midnight Special. The comedians, the bands. Fun times 😎
@@joshsmith302 I grew up on it..as sounds like you did as well🙂..Was Fantastic !!!
One of my favorite lead-ins ever! Totally under-rated tune.
Child in time live from 1970 is an absolute banger that would amaze you with the vocals and musicianship
This was actually my first Deep Purple experience. This album is so good. Knocking at Your Back Door is worth the listen.
I always felt that this was underrated. I love it. Great to see it here.🙂🙂🙂
They are my all time favorite group and Ian Gillan is my favorite singer ever and \i saw them twice the first was cause I went to see Black Sabbath and I better enjoyed Deep Purple and saw them a second time.
Great choice, this band should be in RR Hall of fame
Amen !! It’s like Eddie trunk said the rock hall is a joke
Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore is a virtuoso , his solo's are amazing and his live playing is nothing short of jaw dropping. Check out Stargazer by his other band Rainbow, you will not be disappointed.
“Knocking at Your Back Door” will have you ready to charge through a brick wall.
When I was 14 , I went to the very last "Texas Jam" when Purple was the big headlining act. This was when David Coverdale from Whitesnake was their singer. At the show right as Purple took the stage I fell down a bunch of bleachers and injured my right knee. Have needed surgery on it since then.
Dang !!
Finally someone who also loves that Solo do much😊. One of the best of all time!
Ian Gillan-Vocals
Ritchie Blackmore-Guitar
Jon Lord-Keyboards
Ian Paice-Drums
Roger Glover-Bass
I saw them five times on this tour. This live they had lasers depicting Mozart leading a symphony on that break down riff. They were quite incredible live!!!
this is the best Deep Purple with this fives artists 🤔😍
I discovered Deep Purple through this song. Today they're my favourite band.
What I loved about this video, besides it being a great song, was knowing that this was real, this was the first time in many years they had been in a room together recording, and still hating each other at the same time. You can feel it in these scenes and hear it in the words.
Love "Knocking at your Back Door" from the Perfect Strangers album
Was lucky enough to see this tour at the T-dome which was and is still the loudest concert ever played there and that was back in 84'. Three things I remember was they played for over 3 hours, Ritchie Blackmore's guitar solo was awesome and Jon Lord's organ solo was epic.
Got to catch this tour as well. Loved it !!
Amazing.
One of my favorite unknown songs from them. I dont ub=nderstand why it wasn't more popular......I mark it down to bad management......
Thank you..hard to get that message through.
@@donalddixon6541 One of my favorite albums by the band, In rock I think it was called.
This song when the band reunited came back with this song perfect strangers... Gillian, Blackmore, Lord, Paice, and Glover... After sooo many years
This song remains on my Playlist. They are speaking of spirits in this song. Love it. Knocking at your back door is another good one.
The keys make it. Always loved this piece. It's hard. Meaty, deep, and trippy.
I want Deep Purple -- Stair to the Star or another hit from Machine Head
Ian Paice tearing it up on 🥁. Deep Purple still on tour in 2022. A bit battle worn but at 73,75 years old they're still at it.
