I found your channel 3 months ago today and started doing carnivore. I have since lost 25 pounds, my eczema is gone, my back pain is gone, I sleep better and I generally feel better. My mother has noticed the change and she's asked me what I'm doing. The best part is that she's actually listening and starting to make changes in her diet too. She went Keto and she has lost 5 pounds so far and her digestion is a lot better. We have great 'outrage sessions' over the labels on food packaging and all the ways sugar is concealed. My father is the holdout, he is having trouble giving up his breakfast cereal, but my mom is the cook so he has to eat Keto most of the time. 😄

I unexpectedly came across you on UA-cam and the video on reversing diabetes caught my attention. I have been trying this way of eating for a couple of weeks now and my sole purpose was to lower my blood sugar. I’ve kept my blood sugar in range 85-94% of the time. I was totally out of control for years. In the process of focusing on lowering my blood sugar, I lost 17 pounds! I need to lose weight, so that was a real bonus in trying this way of eating. I shared your videos with my sisters and they are enthusiastic about starting this too! I have my 3 month check up in June with my doctor, who wants to keep adding medications to lower my A1C, which was 8.8 on last visit. I was taking up to 60 units of Novolin in the AM and PM and 32-38 in the noon hour. Now, I’ve gone down to 20-22 and a lot of the time skipping it all together for lunch. I want to blow my doctors socks off with my progress! Thank you so much Dr. Berry! You are a true blessing!

Hi Doc...I'll get right to it..thank you and I owe you (trying not to be dramatic) my life.
Since my teens I've struggled with my weight, in my mid 20's to around 34yrs old I weighed in at 340/350lbs (25 stone in the UK) I lost 8 stone in one year through 'normal' product based dieting..of course 40% of it came back on, now in my late 50's my knees were swollen, joint aches, lethargic daily ups and downs etc etc...then flicking through UA-cam I found the carnivore diet, thought I'd give it a go, and 3 months later after a getting to know process, I'm 22lb lighter and still going. The main thing that is missed on your channel (obviously correct me if I'm wrong) is the end to cravings, I look at foods and drinks I used to devourer daily and now I don't have ANY desire for those products, its truly life changing..Again I owe you so much. Thank you.

Dropped 65 pounds of fat in soon to be 1 year. Thank you for your advice and blunt honesty.
I have another 40 pounds of fat to drop, and in spite of the occasional sugar cravings, I feel so much better now that I won't go back to the old way.
If I had ice cream in my house - I'd eat it, but I don't buy carbohydrates anymore, and I go to the store on a very full stomach to keep the cravings muted.

Great job, My weakness is ice cream also. I have to just walk past it I. The store. Really, I don’t go down the middle aisles anymore except for canned fish and meats, and my ice cream substitute, dark chocolate, 85 % cacao.

Strict carnivore will kill all sugar cravings as long as you do not allow anything sweet to touch your mouth. I had cravings still with keto. Carnivore killed them all. No sweetners.

I was able to stop my meds because my BP started getting too low. I have never felt better in my life.

I really appreciate these videos. And I would also like to say that I really appreciate the audience here. The comment section is such a breath of fresh air. I do not know what's going on in the last two weeks but I have literally given up commenting on basically any video anymore. To the point where I'm just about deleted UA-cam. There must be a lot of stress in the world because people are absolutely nasty lately and this includes on other keto or carnivore sites. This is basically the only keto/carnival channel I'm ever gonna watch now.

Are they actually sure that increased cholesterol is not simply increased need for cholesterol on a red meat diet, instead of the extra cholesterol in the meat itself? After all the liver can easily dispose of cholesterol in the bile if it wants to? And if so, why is there higher need for cholesterol?

crape-y skin needs deep fasting like 4 days. You would have to plan that, keep busy away from temptations and know hunger pangs come and go. LOOK up extended fasting and eating gelatine or collagen.

Dr Berry so thankful for your advise. Didn’t understand my digestive system before now . Amazing because next year I am seventy years old. I managed the carnivore diet for one month. I was very good kept it to the letter. This was difficult because I am not a big meat eater. Nonetheless the carnivore month I lost 15 pounds. Since then I decided to go keto. I have now been on this regime in total just short of 4 months. I’ve lost an amazing 45 pounds . This puts me well under 200 pounds and according to BMI I am no longer considered overweight. To my delight I have dropped two dress sizes. Better news is my dear husband who has struggled for decades with his weight . Tried endless diets yo-yoing has now followed this same routine. He started about 340 pounds . To date he has lost nearly 50. He has a way to go but is very satisfied with his food and never feels hungry or uncomfortable. The results are not just about losing weight. I’m 6ft 1 and for the first time for a long time I feel happier in my skin. Feel good when I go out. Taking a interest in my dress and appearance. Must admit I had given up and resigned my self to just being old. My health and mobility has improved. Swollen knees and feet a thing of the past. Feel more like the leggy seventies bird that I was. All the very best Jenny UK

Menopause hit me 4 years ago, which was 2 years after I had adopted a very low carb, high fat (LCHF) lifestyle. I was fit and healthy at the time, too, and hot flashes were not a big problem. However, I still felt like a shell of my former self, and at night I would have high cortisol and racing heart that greatly disrupted my sleep for months and months. I can only imagine how bad I would have felt if I were still eating a high sugar/high starch, crap diet! I spent three years trying various oral hormone formulations, all of which had side effects that were even worse. Then I met a naturopathic / functional medicine doc who uses a pellet that is implanted in your skin and releases a small amount of estrogen and testosterone over 3-4 months. I've been doing that for over a year now, and it has helped a lot. I think the T was the key for me, and Dr. Berry is one of only two doctors (my doc being the other) who I've ever heard discuss testosterone as one of the missing hormones a menopausal woman might need.

Info is informative and obfuscating at the same time. One living off of alcohol, cake, cookies, and ice cream who is listening to the vagaries of bananas or spinach may be frozen in inaction. Eat eggs, meat (chicken fish beef), soluble fats for a week to experience loss of appetite. Then try to realize the next big picture (e.g. complex carbs are good, simple carbs are to be avoided at all costs; what is a starchy vegetable, etc). Meat, fat, and complex carbs is actually a balanced diet, difficult to achieve until one realizes that they can vaporize their cravings.

What is the best way to get a diabetic person to gain weight without spiking blood sugar? He is 63. My husband is underweight with diabetes 2. He has never in his life had an overweight problem but diabetes runs in his family. Both mother and father and neither one of them were overweight either. Putting weight on him is a chore, but he only manages with diet. No prescription meds. Symptoms started around 15 years ago.

Anyone here watching the TV show "The food that built America" ? Just started watching the latest show about Entenmens and Little Debbie. The whole series is interesting. I'm 62 and don't really remember these snack cakes, twinkies, devil dogs, etc. until around 3rd to 4th grade. So that's around the time that all of this crud food started including fast food like McDonald's, etc. Sadly, fast food back then was probably healthier than now. No seed oils and it was really a once a week, or month, treat. Now most people consider it normal daily food.

This is great Dr. Berry but I'm guessing, since I am 4 days late that you respond after in the next videos, after you launch the video. I seriously need help on my carnivore-Organs & 2x fats diet.
Having cheated with sweet pastries too many times my gut is not healed and that's with 4 days of fasting due to illness. I thought I could cheat sneaking in a few goodies but...Holy crap, you just told me my binges have converted me in and out of sugar burning while eating fats! How dangerous is that? Recent AI blood checks that showed no AI; and a general check up didn't alarm the Dr. except for the high LDL!
I just signed up on your Patron channel and look forward to more specific & intimate conversations as I need your help, after 2+ years of Carnivore, adding supplements and still over heating after meals & at night though it was resolved prior to cheat binging!

Two questions for you: is there an ideal for you? Ideal hba1c#, ideal body fat%, ideal glucose level after a meal? Etc...Second, if one's metabolism is fast, wouldn't his glucose level be (more) flexible and varies much more i.e. spike and dip? You know... like your heart rate. Great to have low resting hr, but it's variance is also great, no? Like your take on that😊

I have hashis like your wife. When I try any diet, keto, very lowcarb or carnivore,I start waking up 2-3x a night. It's not just a temporary thing, it lasts months until I'm so tired and frustrated, I give in to carbs so can sleep. I've tried extra salt, extra fat, melatonin, nothing helps, besides more carbs. Besides the sleep issue, I actually feel good eating like this.

Good Evening from Northwest Wisconsin Dr. Berry. I am trimming off the silver skin from a beef tenderloin. Outside of putting this in with my bones for bone-broth, do you know if there a use for this?

That is pure collagen building-blocks, either put that in your bone broth, or use it in another recipe; I personally eat it right along with the tenderloin...

I try to listen to some of your u-tube videos and keep in contact with my doctors. What do you do if you think the doctors are keeping you sick, so they can continue treatment? I'm tired of taking all this medicine. I'll keep listening to you.

Then i saw a friend in the week and had burrito but i didnt eat the bread but i did eat the bloody rice... woke up feeling ill. Yesterday i went to a dance and my frie d wanted food after and i feltbad for her to eat alone so i had something. I ordered a burger thinking i could not eat the bread. Web MD says, "Nicotine changes chemical processes in your cells so they don't respond to insulin and let it in, a condition called insulin resistance. Your cells need insulin so they can take glucose out of your blood and use it for energy. When they can't, the glucose stays in your blood, and your blood sugar level goes up". I find this to be a very interesting topic and can it be what possibly stops some people from loosing weight?

Question: Is olive oil a no-go? I just started seeing your videos (very prolific number of them) a couple of months ago. I've heard you speak ill of vegetable oils, but most of those are made with grains and olives are not a grain.

    • @jessef85

Olive and avocado are ok because they don't go through the same gnarly process as vegetable\canola oil. Idk much about avocado, but for olive preferably extra virgin and single origin, which will be on the label somewhere usually with a 2 letter abbreviation for the country of origin. Coconut oil is good too.

So much good info as usual, back on fasting and keto after a break. You give a lot of information on bile and gallbladder stones, but you never talk polyps. Have one 11mm not causing any symptoms but being that size they want to remove gallbladder as could be cancerous. So against this, waiting another scan to see if it is grown. What choice do I have?

From Nashville Tennessee, Dr. Berry, I've been on a keto diet for 90 days and lost 60 pounds. I'm 70 years old, and my Doctor said I can not be on a keto diet because I have EPI. Is this true? Love your programs. Watch all the time. Keep up the good work!

How is your digestion? With EPI the pancreas does not make enough of the enzymes needed to break down fats and proteins so that is why he is saying you can’t eat keto. Yet, you’ve been eating keto for 90 days…are you having digestive issues or constipation? Maybe he is wrong if you’re not having any issues. But you could also consider taking a supplement of digestive enzymes to help break down the protein and fat. Think about how you feel, what symptoms did you have for him to diagnose you with EPI? Are you still having them? Are they improving with how you’re eating or have they gotten worse? If I had symptoms and got a diagnosis but then went on a diet that made me feel better and made symptoms go away then I would stick with my diet. But if symptoms didn’t improve or worsened then I might have to do something different. Of course if you stop and think about it even plants have proteins and fats that have to be digested…if it was me, I would listen to my body and how I feel.

i’m so sorry… I used to be deathly sick similarly… they found out after a bazillion doctors and tests and YEARS… it was actually Lyme disease. they greatly are similar. don’t know if that’s the case for you, but thought I would mention. also YES on the weight loss. I could lose the same amount. I was 88 lbs at my lowest. I almost died from malnutrition. the only thing that saved me was God and eating soft boiled meat and broth. finally got my gut functioning again and slowly added foods in over the course of about 4 years. now I am a healthy 120 lbs at my average weight. and feel very good almost every day. I eat meat based diet, some low carb veggies, very few normal veggies and some fruit.
