- My Father had the distinct honor to meet Jimmy Page and John Bonham a few days before the opening show of 21 June, 1977 at the former Guitar Center location in Hollywood.
One of his most cherished memories..
My father and three friends hitchhiked much of the journey from the mountains near Lake Arrowhead to what became the most intense concert experience of a lifetime on 27 June, 1977.
Thanks to Mike the Mic for capturing the audio back when.
Here are the .WAV files from that evening.
The files have been converted to WAV's with a little bump at 40hz and are significantly better quality tha anything currently on the net..
NOT for profit or click bait, just enjoy it.
STILL.......The Greatest Band Ever
My favorite is Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio but I would never argue about that with someone whose favorite band is Led Zeppelin. Zep is absolutely incredible. I still listen to them weekly all the way in 2024 ..🤘
I was at Sundays Day on the Green in Oakland CA That was the last American concert by Led Zeppelin in 1977, Robert Plants son Keric , Died of a unusual stomach problem. Everything after that day was canceled Four years later John Bonham Passed away spelling the end of Led Zeppelin.
I was there. My first concert.
@@siliconvalleylife2.048 I smoked to much weed I can not remember much. I remember Jimmy knocking his antenna thing over. Oh well.
@@marcmayou1422 My older cousin brought my younger brother and myself to our first concert. I was 15 or 16..my cousins friend drove his mom's car. My brother and I were party virgins. We spilled the rum and coke on the carpet because it tasted like crap to us. We went through the concert sober.. last sober days of our lives.
Concert was loud, really surreal, but not as surreal as the 1/4 mile long 25 feet wide line going into the stadium. Packed, thick, surreal.
My cousins idiot friend dropped acid and tried to jump off the 2nd deck. They had front row 2nd deck. I think we sat behind them..hard to remember that long ago.
I was there too it sucked big Time, bummer dude.
Bonham was a drumming beast no doubt. Band sounded in good form for sure.
Awesome! If it was recorded by Mike The Mic, we know it's good! I loved! Thank you for sharing
I just graduated high school and landed at Fort Dix on June, 16th 1977. I went from age 17 to age 40 overnight in maturity.
I was blessed to have been there that night. Little did anyone know it would be the final LA show, with unforeseen tragedies on the horizon. Wonderful evening. I kept my T-shirt from the show and eventually gave it to my daughter. She kept it over the years, and then she died of cancer 4 years ago. 🙏🏼🥁
Sorry for your loss 😢
@@Wargasm54 Thank you 🙏🏼
Simply the greatest ever, those 4 guys man, awsome!
❤i Wish I Couldve Seen All Of Them Back In The Day Just ❤ONCE❤!!!!!!!!!😢
Live concert sound was horrible back then. See them was all you could do.
I was at the Tampa show. Basically three songs and a riot. :(
There was only one person between me and the stage, then the rain came.
Been to over 1000 concerts. It may still be the coolest three song I’d seen. They looked like giants.
John Henry Bonham. Such power and direction. 🤜🏽🤛🤜🏽🤛🤜🏽🤛🫵🏻🫵🏻
Impeccable gig. In the mid 80’s when boots were a hot thang, I had this show on triple vinyl. I was like 13 going on stupid, so even though It was THEEEE PRIZE of my entire album collection, I gave it to the hot chick who sold weed in HS. I’d give a toe, actually maybe a pinky finger to have it back!
LED Zeppelin is my favorite band in Heaven and on the Earth too!!!❤😮
Это такая музыка, которая формирует коллективное сознание, а не просто ПАНКИ ХИППИ с ума сходят от музыки рок. Thank you!
My fav band
And thank you very much for sharing
The Millard tapes are usually the best, and this is one of them. Zepp always loved playing The LA Forum... and you can hear it.
Great show, thanks
Bumps all around that night
The last ever Led Zeppelin show out of 16 Led Zeppelin LA Forum shows! 😊

Nice work. Thank you.
I added to 2db to 40z and converted the files to .wav
I was there as well , Cleveland 77 Richfield Coliseum
This is the last of the 6 nights at the LA Forum ..
They were Gods April 30,1977 Detroit
I saw them in Phoenix (Tempe) july 20, and it was wonderful. Never forget 👍🤩
That is exactly how a kick drum should sound live that's why they sound is so large the sound engineers of today are absolutely horrible I see concerts I can scream louder than the band is playing
We papered a dining room wall with a stolen billboard advertisment 7 Up figures dancing.
When we were done we sat and watched the wall move and melt listening to Quadrafenia and Moody Blues on a 450 watt per channel quadrasonic system.
Never did hear the cops knock on the door?😢😊😮😅😂🎉🎉🎉
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very cool. Do you know where that former guitar center location was? Was it an advertised meet & greet on the radio or something?
It was the guitar center on Sunset Blvd which has since moved across the street. His friends went down there because one of them was interested in a drum set. They just happen to be there at the same time as Jimmy and Bonham were there for a pickup.
Hey dr, did your dad get photos or autographs from Page or Bonham when he met them? A handshake and conversation would've been great, but since they hitchhiked, I'm assuming they didn't drag a camera along. Thanks for sharing!
Picutre was never taken but my dad tore a part of an ovation poster off the wall and was given a sharpie or pen (he doesn’t remember which) and was signed by Jimmy Page, and he wrote the following: “Jimmy Page, all the best.” and John Bonham spelled out his name. Several years later in the early 80s, it was in his senior yearbook while moving. Placed into the trunk of his‘71 Mustang and the car was stolen, losing his senior yearbook and prized autograph.
We went to the orange bowl in Miami to buy tickets for the Tampa show on this tour, the police showed up and a shot off tear gas and beat the hell out of peaple with thier billy clubs, what a mess, thankfully we never got tickets because a rain storm ended the Tampa concert very early
I was supposed to be there
