My uncle was a generation before that, more into disco/old school funk, but he introduced me to live drums and bass guitar. I've been a drummer and a professional musician/producer ever since.
Got this album from my father in 1974 "importado". I used to live then in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. It comes from a records shop "Bilboard" in Copacabana. My first rock album and I still have it. Greatings from Belgium to you all.

Also have been listening to them for 50+ years and got a special treat a few years ago. I worked on a new $180 million performing arts center in Orlando, Fl...there were two theaters...one was a symphony hall that we provided the copper and stainless steel railings for the balcony and aisles...very high end. Well, a year or so after it opened, Deep Purple was scheduled to perform and I immediately bought tickets. What an amazing venue to see and more importantly, hear them!! It was a thrill of a lifetime! And what was even better, was that they played Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming, one of my favorite DP songs!! My life is complete!!

И тогда из колонок лилось божественное-Smoke on the Water......
Eventually one [me] comes to the conclusion In Rock is a better album than Machine Head. I'd put Machine Head about 3rd in the Deep Purple repertoire. 1) In Rock, 2) Perfect Strangers, 3) Machine Head, 4) Fireball. My Favorite songs are none off Perfect Strangers (but it is a fantastically good slow burn type album and all songs are close to equally good) but the songs are 1) Child in Time, 2) Fools, 3) Highway Star. Space Truckin' isn't up to the rest of the songs on Machine Head whereas on In Rock they're all of a high standard, like Perfect Strangers. My favs on Machine Head are Highway star and Lazy. Lazy reminds me of a Sunday afternoon.

The best rock album ever recorded. Can't think of a better, more consistently-excellent one. Every member at this stage was a virtuoso. Incredible talent and ability, and a casual approach, off-hand and superb. Everyone calls Deep Purple Ritchie Blackmore's group but I'd say maybe it was Jon Lord's. And you need every one of them to produce this level of material.
Richie Blackmore brought his magic to Rainbow for the timeless album Long Live Rock n Roll, but there was something missing compared to this album. I think it was Jon Lord's keyboard skills.
I effing love Pictures of Home! It's one of the most complete songs I've ever heard, where every instrument has its own chance to shine. An amazing song within an amazing album.

Ian Paice is such a tight drummer, yet still so fluid with his feel. Really whips the band around.

I'm 55 - this was my very first album my uncle introduced me to when I was a kid. I've been a headbanger ever since ! 🤟
Lol... It's was very often "the uncle" - not always the parents. The black sheep with the longish hair and the denim jacket/motorbike.....

I have listened to deep purple for about 50 years and I still like them. Machine Head is the best album.
Well play it louder

И тогда из колонок лилось божественное-Smoke on the Water......

One of the greatest Rock Albums ever.
You re absolute right my friend. Thats a really classical!

Everyone calls Deep Purple Ritchie Blackmore's group but I'd say maybe it was Jon Lord's. And you need every one of them to produce this level of material.
