Someone asked if there is a left and right caliper. The answer is YES. The bleeder valve needs to be on top when you install the caliper otherwise will not bleed properly. Hope this helps the next guy!!!

Absolutely excellent presentation and provides much useful information for all-too-often neglected preventative maintenance purposes. Thanks. 2022/08/18. Ontario, Canada.
Great video, thanks. I've seen others recommend some thread lock on the bolts due to the amount of vibration brakes have. Like always, you all provide great how to videos! Thanks.
Do you have to bleed all The rest of the calipers if you only changing one calipers? Also is there a tool you can recommend to buy to close off the brake line when removing the caliper?
Thank you for the video. I was able to change my own for the first time. I encountered some questions. When I remove the brake hose, the bolt had a small hole, I didn’t know if that hole had to align with the brake hose hole? They both had a hole. Also I used the new copper ring washer that came with the new caliper, after I finished both started leaking were the washers are, so I removed them and put the old original ones back and both leaks stopped. I guess new doesn’t always mean better. Thanks again for the video I learned from watching your video and trial and error.
You did not mention that the banjo bolt has to align with the hose otherwise you will not able to bleed the system.I had that experience the hard way because the caliper that I bought is defective. The cylinder is seized inside the cup (made in China)
@@beardedtoolreviews7185 Absolutely does work. I am using this technique right now as I rebuild the leaking piston area.on my Honda Civic. I strongly dislike crimping things. Just be certain to disconnect the battery as your bra,ke lights will be on the whole time.
You know, if you would have used a clear vinyl hose over the bleeder and the other end in a bucket so you would not have to clean up after yourself. Other than that, it was a great video. I gave you a thumbs up.
I heard that you don’t HAVE to do a manual brake bleed after bleeding the caliper. Is this true. Is it just recommended to do that. I need to know fast. Thanks.
As I see with a lot of videos, mechanics always fail to give sizes of tools for removing parts. I like the video. Please next time include names and sizes of tools thank you
They actually usually put the parts used and socket sizes, but as he said in the beginning of the video, this instruction was not meant to be vehicle specific. The socket sizes vary from vehicle to vehicle.
“Hey Len I’ll give you $100 if you say veerhicle instead of vehicle for the entire video” Len- “bet!”.. But seriously great video! Thanks for the attention to detail!
I had a big problem bleeding my brakes on my 03 chevy astro after bleeding them many times finally realized I had the front calipers mixed up switch right to left having the bleeder on the upside of caliper solved the problem, feeling so Dumb
+O kid oki Diego Any repair manual specific to your vehicle (Chilton's, Haynes, Motor, Factory manual, etc.) You can find them at most parts stores, you can check them out at your public library, you can find them on eBay and sometimes on craigslist, and you can download a pdf file from the internet, often free!
Incorrect use of torque wrench, the bolts are overtightened. Stop at 1 click, additional click(s) at same torque setting causes overtightening. When verifying torque, adjust torque setting down 10% and listen for click, this avoids overtightening. Its a good idea to read the manual of the tools you are using :-)
I always love the videos brother but are you messing with us with this R you are adding to the word vehicle? You say “verhicle”. I keep thinking of the movie Super Troopers Meow scene. Lol. Anyways keep the videos coming.
I want every mechanic to take note at the two minute mark.. he broke the nut free by hand using his cordless ratchet, then started removing it using power! This is the way it’s meant to be used lmao it’s not an impact
Is it ok to replace just one damaged (stuck pistons) caliper. One side, drivers side, is stuck on my 2016 kia sedona. I got the Brand new caliper assembly to replace but now not sure if its ok to do just one side.
Not. A very good video.. Crushing rubber breaks Hoses & Hanging calipers off a break hoses.. I see no cleaning of any break Parts.. Not even cleaning the old grease off the sliders. I wouldn't let this guy work on my lawn mower..
Thanks for the video! Something like replacing brake calipers seems easy enough, but it's always those little steps a guy can't know until he's told that get him into trouble--like making sure the slider brackets are greased.
I was told not to crimp the lines on the count they have metal inside. I didn’t crimp the lines and I didn’t get hardly any dribble. Just saying. Thank you for the video. Enjoyed as always.
As he said: do NOT reuse the copper crush washers. They wll leak if you do. Also on the bracket bolts: you see how there's some white color on the bolts? That's dried thread locker. You might want to clean the old thread locker off of them and add a little bit of new thread locker to the bolts that hold the bracket to the car. Those bolts have to be very tight unlike the slide pins.
Great video. Really like the thoroughness of detail. If a shop did this for you, you would pay a "pretty penny" for a repair that is not so difficult, if you have the right tools and instruction. Really appreciate this company providing so much good content for the DIYer. Keep up the great work.
If you are smart, especially since the car is already up in the air, I would bleed the entire system starting with the brake caliper that is furthest from the master cylinder.
Dumb question, I've got a left front caliper that locked up. Can I just replace the caliper or do I need to replace the bracket as well? Auto novice here
The black grease contain molybdenum which will eat away the plastic. It's for metal against metal. You should only use clear silicone paste on the slider

Good teacher, Good video. It was a proper brake job. The average shop wouldn't do that through of work.
You changed the caliper carrier as well as the caliper itself; (which in the US) you call bracket. Very good video.
Great timely video. Bought calipers today to replace the originals on my truck. Glad you had this video available. Thank you

Instead of clamping the brake hose, you can use a piece of 2x4 against the front edge of the driver seat and press the brake pedal down.
Is that a good alternative? Does it work? Thanks

Hi, why are on Front calipers hollow Pistons and on the rear not? Thank You for answer
I can tell you why the pin wasnt lubed up, because the mechanic who fit it wants you to come back in a year when its seized up Lol
All well and good but what is the manf. specs for the screw torques????
is it safe to use copper anti seize on back of brake pad? is it safe on rubber piston boot?
Great video, just too much lubricant on the pins. If you add too much, the pin can't travel its full distance
Should I replace Both rear calipers or just the one that's bad ??
Excellent knowledgeable guide
Do you have a video for another style of caliper? Mine do not look like this. (03 T&C)
Excelente explicación excelente
Should caliper move a little after I put it on
Why did you say to do a brake bleed after you already bleed the caliper correctly?
Is it okay to do work on you're car without a Torque wrench
Great Video. Thank you!
can you share manufactures torque specs?
Thanks
are the front calipers the same or 2 different parts? also are the front and rear calipers the same as well? 2004 nissan maxima
+catrin b Thanks for watching! Calipers are not interchangeable, so each corner will require its own caliper.
I forgot to mention I bought my brake pads at the dealer and they did not fit so I had to file them down. Is that normal?

I had put the new calipers on the wrong side with the bleeder valve at the bottom and couldn’t get pressure at the peddle…
2016 Kia Forte all four brakes and the caliper on the passenger side bled all the brakes and it's still the brake pedal is sluggish
Manufacture specification torque, where can I found? I have 2017 Nissan Sentra Sr turbo
