A 380 Airbus is a nice piece of work, no doubt. However, it will never beat out a Boeing 747 8i for sheer beauty and beauty in motion. Personally, I am a Lockheed fan, but I will put Boeing in front of Airbus anytime, anywhere. 747s are the proven benchmark.
To the best of my knowledge, Korean Air has shown a preference for GE engines powering its aircraft over the past few years. Its Airbus A380s, for instance, are powered by GP7200 engines by Engine Alliance, a joint venture of GE and Pratt & Whitney.
interesting too see all the Krueger flaps retracted at the same time well as in the older versions it's done in two steps depending on the flap config. Excellent video thanks
superb video - a great reminder of the sheer greatness that Boeing rolled out of its factory the day the -8's first made it onto the tarmac - those engines really sound the part - keep calm and 747 on...
I heard the beautiful swirls on the fan hub spinners of the GEnx-2B became mandatory after 2015, so it seems like this may be one of the newer B747-8I aircraft. Awesome sound, and better reliability than any 747 engine that ever came before it 😎
Thank God that Boeing has returned the747-8.... It's the most gorgeous plane built ... People boast about AB380.... It's jus a big bus and which is ungliest plane I have ever seen... You couldn't get to fly on one..... All Hail to the Queen of the skies who has reclaimed her Crown.
The coolest sight airborne is the 747 in any variation. The Intercontinental builds on that tradition with an all new aircraft under the skin. Very quiet takeoff
No muscle car sounds like this!! The 747-400 and Her genuine short takeoffs fully loaded may disappear, but this new Queen... I will fly on her someday?
People and the passengers don't realize the velocity of the plane when you're up at 25, 30 or even 35 to 40,000 feet up in the atmosphere. You could be covering a distance of 8 or 9 and sometimes close to 10 miles per minute-that's over 520 knots or about 600 mph(966 km/hr.) That's why a plane can travel such long distances in such a short period of time.
Why does the 747-8 sound so much louder than the 787? They have the same engines... do 2 more engines make that much of a difference? (Not gonna lie I love the roar of the 747-8) Edit: took me months to realize, but on the 787 GEnx, the giant nacelles block out the buzz. On the 748i, however, nacelles are smaller, therefore letting out a soft buzz.
gasaholic47 Seoul-Incheon Int’l is a new airport opened in 2001 in reclaimed land, so no past history. However, the airport is getting some new runways and a new terminal soon!
+Air-Clips.com He's right. Please mark it as Seoul/Incheon as that is a completely different airport from Seoul Gimpo, where the domestic flights or short-haul international flights fly.
Unless it's a domestic Korean flight, or from Tokyo-Haneda, Shanghai-Hongqiao, etc., from where there are flights to Gimpo, if you look at the departures panel at any major international airport, flights to ICN appear only as "Seoul". And although it is some distance from the capital and Incheon is a respectable large city in itself, the airport was obviously built to serve chiefly Seoul. So, it's not really incorrect, unless you expect to see on the panels at ICN itself flights to Crawley, Guarulhos, Roissy, Fairfax, Grapevine and Mississauga (meaning respectively the nearby cities where London-Gatwick, São Paulo, Paris-CDG, Washington-Dulles, Dallas/Fort Worth and Toronto airports are located). And not all of those nearby metropolitan cities are small: Guarulhos, for example, has 1.2 million people, and Mississauga over 700,000...
GE Powered 787 has Longer & Thicker Nacelles therefore 787 Cuts Entire Buzz. But this 747-8 has a little bit smaller Nacelles therefore it sounds a little bit similar to a 787 but the Sound sounds itself cool.
One of the best onboard videos I've seen onboard a 747-8! Just like a 4 engine 777. Sounds beautiful.

Beautiful airplane, beautiful view, beautiful sound, I'm seriously in love with the 747!!!
Me too!
The Queen of the Sky , and Korean AirLines. It can’t get any better!
Lovely engine sound. Pure GE!
I like the cf6 a lot better
Fernousdu972 HD Worldwide Travels Genx
These engines sound great!
The GEnx sound is HEAVEN

John Eddy if Pratt and Whitney engines were available on the 747-8 I am sure they would go with them instead

I hope in the future there is more 747 8 passenger models in service . Best plane

It is a beautiful looking plane.

Feels weird listening to those sounds coming from a 747. Great video though!
one of the best departure video
Beautiful Seoul.
Wow thanks! Hard to find 748i vids ...not many of these beauties are out there. Big like
This is easily one of the most incredible video's i've seen of the 748 both onboard and plane spotting - Amazing work!!
Perfect plane, perfect video!
Awesome video mate!
Still the Queen of the Skies. With the power of 4.
Awesome vid. Wish it were longer.
Impressive power!
It’s not like the screaming GE-90 on the 777s, it’s has a deeper tone

Nice Video Bud. Awesome sound indeed.
Beautiful!
great! can't wait to fly with this plane on august 2016 from prague to incheon! ☺
Espetacular.
It sounds a lot like ge90 and I think the design of the genx was derived from it
Very nice aircraft
great vid thx
40 second Trust 😍
Nice music.
Is taxi view available for all the passengers? Thats nice!
Take off at 1:30
It kinda sounds like a mix of the GE-90 and the Rolls Royce
Nice!
What is the number flight or route?
Thanks!!!
Supremely loud 💖💖💖
Where did you go?
Good video
dat wing-flex tho
I never get used to how much the wings and engines wobble around on airliners, I know it is fine, but it unnerves me all the same!
What engines is this plane?
It is same airport seoul and lncheon. My dream is pilot and I lived in korea so I know well. l'm 10 years old
Great video. It was a quick take-off run, it seemed light. How long of a flight was it?
It was Korean Air Flight 945 From Seoul🇰🇷 to Frankfurt🇩🇪 Travel Time was Approximately around 14 Hours with the Giant!
the new engines are really this remarkably quiet? they sounded (and looked) like they were hardly working!
Cool

FlyingSpartan Not entirely same. 787 also has the quiet Rolls Royce trent 1000 and it also has only 1 GEnx on each wing.
Why does the aircraft continue to climb for so long with the slats and flaps extended to what looks like a descent configuration
So, as it’s taking off, over in the distance looks like the remains of an old runway(s). Was this part of an old military base?

Mamma mia
What engines are these?
Say No to Autonomous Driving the same ones that power the 787
General Electric GEnx-2B Engines.
i think there is Incheon
That is Inchoen not a Seoul.
You're right. Completely different part of the world.

....nothing compares to RollsRoyce engine Melody!
Good video. But the old 747-200 sounded better. The new engines moves more air, but the sound is not so good.
Boy would it be good to leave South North-Korea
Boeing 747-8 engine boeing 787-9 GEnx engine
1000likes
Thought that was an A380 for a sec there
Yawn...
