    First Epic Lens Cap Broll Sequence I've ever seen! lol

  • @MrStrongBro
    @MrStrongBro 6 років тому +10

    This hits the heart. Whenever you act even on the smallest idea, the more original you can often become. For example, I'VE NEVER seen b-roll of a lens cap. lol
    Perhaps this is often the cause of creators block because we're looking for something big, which often hurts us in the long run because subscribers are just simply looking for content, and any idea can be good content.

Therefor I have reason to believe he has someone helping him. But someday, I had an idea to make a video about the proccess of me creating the vanilla ice cream, and at the end scene I put my camera into the freezer just to capture the unusual angle, and suddenly 'BOOM!' a lot of my friend was really like the idea and they said that was blow their mind 😂 And I'm really halpy with that. Thanks pete for the lesson! DOPE!

    Thank you for being you and providing inspiration and pushing those of us who are rookies to ac, not just watch a tutorial. If I watch guys like you and never go out and APPLY what you tuaght, I am not going to become a good creator, i will just be a good video head! I felt a little stupid writing my 1st script last night, but I wanted to push through and take action- even if it meant going through the whole process with a corny script that sucked. I wanted to experience the process, the experience of actually writing a script and later filming it, lighting, composition, etc... as a learning experience. I thought I would maybe write a paragraph or 2, but wound up with 4 full pages. I realized I was kind of liking my little original, pre- Halloween story. I didn't beat myself up being a rookie. I read it to a friend and he was like "YOU wrote that?" I was like- I know it's not great, but it has really good potential. He was like "No- I LIKE it. How did you even come up with that stuff...it's really good." It mixes comedy and horror throughout the story. Mostly comedy- until the horror ending. I can picture filming it, weird lighting, a jump scare or 2, interesting camera angles, etc. It's simple, kind of funny and has a gory ending that ends all the fun. Well, sort of. My friend was amazed by how the story ends, how it all ties together... and that really encouraged me. Thanks for inspiring rookies like me. We hear you, and dare take a leap of faith...into ACTION. I wanted to say thank you- again, really.

    I just stole a small box of ideas from this video! Thank You Peter! This subject really is THE most important subject for creative people. Seriously. We we creative types incorrectly think this subject is about our talent/skill level; how well we can write, act, draw, paint...whatever...but it's not. In the past, talent was slowly 'worked on' in hopes of being 'discovered'....Those days are gone. Now, today, in the present, thought innovators like you are quickly manifesting an existence/reality and asking people to join them, they do, and the wave grows...sort of like surfing a giant wave of creation while talking into a camera! That's why the process has to be transparent and genuine or it won't gel. Anyway, thanks for the video Peter! Best Regards, Louis Pak

    Peter, this is the BEST video from you that I have seen and I am following your channel since months. Thanks man ! Inspiring to the point! "The power of an idea = extremly powerful, If we actually use them. So use them!"

    Peter did a better B-Roll of the lens cap with way less effort than my whole planed projekt. Frustrating. :(

    Tbh, i never watch most of your video till the end peter. Because once i got the message of the video, i just became super excited, turn my phone off, get off my bed, grab my camera, and do something. You really inspire me Peter Mckinnon !!! Keep on inspiring me !!!!

    I gotta say, Peter's storytelling has dramatically improved over the past year. I feel like this is something that a lot of people needed to hear! Sometimes even the smallest ideas can turn into something huge, so not every idea has to be crazy and complex! :)

    PETER MCKINNON IS THE BEST!!!!! I've taken all of his advice, and even started a UA-cam channel all about filmmaking! I post videos every Sunday! I'd really appreciate some support and feedback.

    2:20 we couldn't agree with you more. You inspired two Peace Corps Volunteers to pick up a camera and keep the work going. Thanks Peter.

    This video couldn't have come at a better time! I've been depressed thinking I haven't got what it takes to create because I don't have 'ideas' when in actual fact I'm mostly lacking in believing in that idea and putting it into ACTION!

    Absolutely agree. You have to poke fun at yourself every once and a while if not more often. It’s fun and hilarious. I try to do the same thing with my stuff, but not nearly the production value, but really...who cares? It’s fun! Small ideas can become great!

    Peter, the lens cap b-roll almost made me choke on my dinner. I guess food just doesn't go down when laughter is going up! Great work!

    Thanks for this Peter. As a person who constantly has ideas...but doesn't do much with the "action" part.......I needed to hear someone else say it....so thanks.

    I just started shooting video when I started riding bmx again. And I have to say your videos give me a perspective than I never thought about before. taking simple videos and shooting in a way that makes it interesting never even occurred to me before the how to make coffee video. Really enjoy these videos. Thanks for the tips!
