JJ is really sharp. Defendant said she bought the furniture but struggled to say what exactly she bought. Kitchen appliances, but only named cutlery, bowls, toaster - for 1800? JJ asked her twice and she couldn’t say. The stove and cooker were still there. She said only 4 chairs but no table and no beds. So what did she buy for 1800? That shows she’s a liar. No she doesn't. The people who need government assistance, give people who need government assistance a bad rap.
The VAST majority of those who need government assistance, need it for a reason, and that reason is not because "they are just going through a temporary bad time". It is RARE for someone who has their shit together, to need government assistance.
There's a reason that most section 8 houses are in ghettos. No one, with working brain cells, and a house worth anything, wants to risk the hell involved in renting to people who need government assistance.

I managed low income housing for elderly and disabled. I would do an announced inspection every 6 months. Almost all of the elderly tenants took care of their apartments as if they were their own. They would be clean and in order, yet they'd go on how they couldn't keep things as clean as they used to because of age and health. The younger people on disability would have filthy apartments, yet my goal in inspecting was to make sure no damages were made and everything such as outlets, appliances, and smoke/CO2 detectors were in working order. Cleanliness was considered at time of move out and security deposit would be applied for any outstanding cleaning above normal. As long as any lack of cleanliness did not cause a health risk.

For any of the information she did provide, she allowed no time for validation of any of the "facts" she was spouting. When someone is telling the truth, they want to stop to make sure you're on board with the logic of the event.

Yes, and it sucks cause not everybody on section 8 is like that, but I’m not trying to be mean there’s stereotypes for a reason are used to be on section 8, and I took care of my apartment I had and then I ended up getting a really good job lost the section 8, which is fine. I don’t expect to keep it if I ended up getting a really good job and then I bought my own mobile home but it’s just sad that there are way more bad renters that are on section 8 then there are good ones my friend he is a landlord, and he wanted to be a good guy and start excepting section 8 because he even said there’s not a lot of people that accept section 8 here anymore around the United States so he wanted to make a difference and he ended up getting f*cked at the end I think he said he only had like two good renters that were on section 8, and the rest were just trash, and he even allowed people to have pets that is not very common to have a person except section 8, and let them have a pet because he wanted to be nice and dog or cat trashed the places and dog poop and pee everywhere so much stuff was chewed up like the walls the siding on the windows and the doors, big literal holes in the doors where it was the dogs basically doggie door even though it wasn’t a doggie door. Just a big asshole. And a lot of them never watch their kids and what they were doing. There was markers literally all over the walls in the living room, the kitchen, the bedrooms, the hallway. Juice and pee, stains all over the carpet and my friend isn’t stingy or anything he’s like you know I get it there’s always gonna be some minor or some damages. If you know somebody has kids or a dog or a cat who’s like but this is ridiculous. Then there was one person that let their kids put stickers all over the wall and it tore the paint off. The reason is the ineffective processes as well as bad tenant giving bad reputation. Signing up process takes too long without rent being paid. Inspection processes take forever to schedule and expectations are inconsistent; each inspector passed and doesn’t pass inconsistently. Damage is not effectively covered. The agreement with section 8 is one sided. The rent paid often does not meet market standards. And their is no training to tenants to help them live better and get off of section 8. Section 8 is not a lifetime thing and shouldn’t be allowed with some exceptions. It must be streamlined and should be fair to tenants and landlords.

There’s is something called a before and after condition report and inventory report. I take pictures detailing everything and let my tenant check and sign. If they don’t sign in the time frame as government has proposed, it is the tenant that has accepted the conditions as provided. Of course take photos.

It’s a shame because a lot of the section 8 homes near my area are beautiful brand new and by the time a second family lives in it’s a disaster. These people typically treat the home and neighborhood like garbage and have no care or regard for others property

She kept claiming she was saying “da troof” but something was fishy especially how she tried to get JJ to call the one inspector over anyone else… Fast talking, career Section 8 abuser

I bet the new landlord she's renting from is going, "Oh.My. Lord!😱
Sadly this makes it a really sad stereotype for decent folks who are on Section 8. I knew someone on Section 8 with 4 kids and that house was SPOTLESS!! You could eat off of the FLOOR!! Annnd she was a responsible parent with sound values and was very involved with her children's education.
That being said....don't think I'd chance renting to someone on Section 8....I'd get locked up.🤬

I didn't know what section 8 means so I just googled it. Wow... if I can get government assistance for my rent, I will be extra thankful and try to maintain the house as clean as possible.
I pay $5000 for monthly rent in NY right now. I climb up on a stool to clean any greasy mark on my kitchen and put carpet on a floor in case of making any accidental scratch on a floor.

Well owners are letting Sect8 tenants GO!!! Not renewing contracts...they can get more money now a days without this kind of nightmare. Sect8 does not inspect properties before a tenant leaves they do not give a hoot. When they inspect a property for new tenants all they want to see are smoke detectors, running sinks and showers as long as it's habitable. Some get pretty good looking apartments for low rent. Forgot to mention that the counters tops are used as cutting boards. 😀

And the blabbering defendant, trying to talk herself out of this case with one excuse after another, dares to call the plaintiff a slumlord after she left the apartment a disgraceful mess and debauched the kitchen counters, which is why Section 8 tenants have bad reputations with rental apartments because they don't conform to maintaining cleanliness and respecting the residence's structural decors owned by owners.

A lot of people underestimate welfare people and think they're all dumb. They're not, most habitual welfare recipients are lazy but some are actually quite intelligent and know how to manipulate the system/people to get what they want. This woman was so clever it even took JJ more than 10 seconds to find out she was a liar. I almost have a low key respect for her.
