"I don't know if you can tell, I fry everything" just about killed me. People can fangirl over Frank all they want; Saul is the reason I watch this series.
This just might be my favorite episode ever! The two of them are so charming, competent, humorous, and brotherly. Their back and forth banter is hilarious. The food looks amazing, as usual. Everything about this episode was dialed up to 10 and beyond.
Food Network: "Couldn't afford his Ingredients. He told us to find a sharp cheddar cheese wheel in the caves of mexico that's been sun bathing for 12 years "
@@nole8146 Hahaha probably true. Frank would probably be worse - "Well first we need to dig a cave..." I love those two guys. I would watch them over any of the other stock celeb chefs any day
the part near the ending omg. "this the happiest I've been in a long time." "really? salud. me too" "love you man" "love you too." right before the banter lol
This is one of my favorite videos, I love how chef Saul talks and explains while he is cooking is fun and easy to watch. Home cook, Daniel, Oh, la, la, great cook.
Good chefs usually use a lot more butter and salt than what's recommended. What's recommended is usually healthier, of course... but if you're gonna make a dish for a special occassion, health should be the last thing on your mind. And well, that's besides the fact that salt and butter aren't as unhealthy as is generally claimed.
How did it take this long for us to see this amazing DUO together .... WOW their charisma bounce off one another so perfectly on screen.. TOP tier content
I think we can all agree-- Frank and Saúl are the dads, Yuji is the successful older kid that you only see during holidays, Emily and Daniel are the twins, and Lorenzo is the uncle that lives with them.
I am just smiling from ear to ear. Two of my best cooks. Thanks epicurious and thanks Saul, now I know how to make 14 Dollar gnocchi look restaurant ready
Chef Saul is absolutely brilliant, every video he's in is incredible. His interactions with Daniel are adorable, the ending of this video makes me laugh every time
I love the moment where Daniel goes over and gives Saul a side hug - I wish I could do the same! Love Saul on this show. On a side note, Daniel could slice bacon with his jawline LOL
I love this combo 😂😂😂 Saul is really creative and Daniel is obviously a ball of positive energy like a golden retriever ❤❤. I enjoyed this video so much😊
Saul is like the nicest chef there ever is. Like even if I made the most disgusting thing on a plate ever that did not look appetising, he would still praise it and eat it. I would not be the least bit intimidated if he was asked to judge my horrible cooking 😂
Omg, this freaking episdode made my morning Their personalities just go so well together The part at the end just made my heart so happy watching them interact 💚💚💚
2:16 "So, I'm gonna' poke some holes in the potato. I dunno' what it does. But I've always done that when I bake potatoes, and they come out okay!" What it does, is give the steam being created inside the potato as it bakes, somewhere to escape through. Without doing this-or giving it some other way of escaping-the steam will cause the potato to explode inside your oven.
Saúl: " the gnocchi are on the plate now, but that's not enough, we're gonna build a small rocket, for when we eat the gnocchi, our taste buds can go outta space😊"
Someone at epicurious someway somehow please get Chef Frank and Chef Saul together i would be dying of laughter they are awesome. Congrats Daniel you did amazing! Cheers from your biggest fan in Colombia amigos !
I can hardly wait to make the arugula gnocchi with tomato confi. I’ve never thought about processing the package gnocchi and adding herbs. I have a fresh herb garden in my kitchen. And in a couple of months, a bushel of cherry, grape, and other varieties of tomato.
Saul is the type of guy you watch and it feels like you've known him your whole life. He needs his own channel.
He does

Only Saúl could shred gnocchi to turn it into gnocchi and not have everyone say "What? Why?"
😂😂😂😂
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ Sir this is a cooking video.

Saul: “Simple food is the best food”
Also Saul in another video: “Simple is boring”
Saul is not simple. He’s deep and complicated.
Saul is the way.
I think what he's saying is that simple but done with the correct technique isn't simplistic. In other words lazy food is simplistic, and boring.
The duality of Saul
He said both in this video!
Perfect execution of simple ingredients like a risotto or omelette is very different than bland low effort food.
"Do I contradict myself? So be it, I contain multitudes." Walt Whitman. 😉
“Idk if you can tell, i fry everything” 😂😂😂😂😂 Chef Saúl is the best thing that’s ever happened to us since sliced bread 🤣
"When I get nervous... miracles happen."
True mark of a professional.
I love all the participants of the show but these two are just the best combo😂
Only combo that might top it would be Frank and Emily.
Or Gabby and Frank.
Or Lorenzo and Frank
Saúl and Emily are pretty great too :')
Frank and Lorenzo is the og Duo
"- 300$ worth of ingredients ? You trust me with that ?
- Listen, that's who I am. I'm a giver. Obviously you're not."
😂😂
Chef Saul is never letting Daniel live that down.
I came here for this comment lol. Saul is hilarious!
😂
worth of product bro, atleast recite it correctly
We need a whole video of Saul and Daniel cooking a dish together ASAP 😂 The clip at the end of them trying each other's food was the best!
I love Saul.
"First, panic! just a little bit"
"I don't know if you can tell, I fry everything" just about killed me. People can fangirl over Frank all they want; Saul is the reason I watch this series.
Frank and Saul teaming up to make an ultimate recipe would be an interesting video to watch.
The Man. The Myth. The Legend. Saul Montiel, ladies and gentlemen!!! We need way more of this content and pro vs home cook
42 likes my boii??
Saul is a national treasure. Also, no way that Daniel guy is an amature, and also no way he doesn't have some sort of "presenter" experience.
Daniel is an actor and singer.

Saul actually blew my mind with his creativity and techniques. I learned so much from watching this video. Thank you Saul!

I'm not sure Daniel qualifies as a home cook anymore. He sounds so confident explaining what he is doing!
This is one of my favorite videos, I love how chef Saul talks and explains while he is cooking is fun and easy to watch. Home cook, Daniel, Oh, la, la, great cook.
Yes. I agree. 🙂
Their rapport feels really genuine. Love them both. I will try to make gnocchi on my own.
Ha. the only times i know word 'rapport' being used is in true crime documentaries.. :D
Saul needs his own UA-cam channel
Cheers from San Diego California
He does have his own channel. Just not updated since last year I believe.
agree!
Saul and Frank combo would be too much for YT
here's his channel youtube.com/@ChefSaulMontiel
I loved that side by side as they both boil the gnocchi. The chef adds triple the salt to the water! Saul and Frank know what's up😅

The process of the $14 dollar gnocchi is actually doable!!! Ill have to try this soon ❤ great video!
You might even wanna skip the smoking and go for actual scamorca instead, they are not expensive at all.
Yes I thought so too!! Craving gnocchi now...

Saul and Daniel, Frank and Emily, Lorenzo and anyone. Just some iconic duos
Saul and Daniel, the combo I knew I wanted and would like
"Just a little salt, dont go crazy" - Proceeds to make it saltIer then the dead sea
Yes and then Daniel makes it "salty as the ocean" and it's like less than half of the amount😂
It's always a treat to see Saúl and Daniel pair up, I love their dynamic. (and 2 Saúl uploads on the same day!)
Other people be stanning Frank but Saul holds my heart.
