- Vampires are great metaphors for understanding what we fear and how that can bring us together...or drive us apart and lead us to the dark side.

Next question: If moon light is reflected sunlight, then how come moonlight doesn’t harm vampires?
Because it is a "sunata."
Same reason you can look directly at the moon but not at the sun.
Easy, cause it’s not direct sunlight 😂😂😂😂
Low brightness
It's the same reason redheads burn and hiss in daylight but frolic and sing in the moonlight. Every surface absorbs some wavelengths while reflecting others, that's why things have different colors even though they all get the same light. Likewise, the moon obviously absorbs the specific wavelengths that are deadly to vampires and redheads.
mythologically speaking there were several reasons a vampire could not see their reflections. one was what early mirrors were made from polished silver a metal many cultures believed was effective against many unholy or supernatural beings. another was that it was thought a mirror was a reflection of the soul which undead did not have, yet many of the same cultures believed animals did not have a soul yet they still cast a reflection. there are other explanations given in various cultures but these are two of the most prevalent.
I was specifically looking for this comment so I didn't have to write it myself 😄

Mythology
@@itselenmask isn’t that what I said?
Based on this guy's presentation: What if vampires are the only ones who cant see their "reflections" -- their own corrupt nature and abuse of power?
Love this!
Contemplating little arbitrary things like this is highly rewarding for what its worth.
Nobody has seen a vampire in a mirror and lived to tell the tale, that’s why. ;)
😂😂😂 good one
Still a fan of "The Lost Boys. "
A lot of commenters seem to be disappointed in this Ted talk, but he brought up some interesting points, history, and facts about rabies.
Kinda makes sense that one of the forms that a vampire would take is a bat since they can carry rabies.
Wtf is this doing on TEDx.... Ugh facepalm.
Who is who gonna get to watch the movie that he noted about,,😅
two things, vampires aren't real and bram stoker wrote in his book that they cast no reflection because they have no soul. now what are we going to talk about for the next 14 minutes and 50 seconds?
I came to the comment section to see just how bad humanity has gotten.
By coming back from the dead, wouldn’t that make Jesus a vampire himself, and therefore needing to hunt himself? Too bad he wouldn’t be able to see himself in a mirror. (Meanwhile, trying to get everybody to drink his blood…..)
Because they aren't real. 😂😂😂
How'd ya know
In the 1970's vampires didn't "drink wine and" they didn't "smoke sh1t"?
The lack of sense of humour in the comments section is astonishing
Immediately adding that to my movie watchlist.
So what is the Muslim version of vampire?
Feed me 🧠
Vampire diaries 😅
So TedX is just click bait now?
Jesus Christ lol.
Time stamp
Stime tamp.
I know which politician I should insert in the last blank vampire frame. A Turkish politician who's sucked all blood and money of Turkish citizens for years.. Yeah, you know the name of that vampire well.
It's about angles
Because vampires are from books and movies and not real life?
Duh
9:25 Are my videos good? V HONEST.

What BS. Really, a tedx with this speaker (who can’t talk), and this message? 🤮
Clearly anyone can do a Ted Talk. And now all Ted Talks have lost any validity to them.

I think I know what he is going to point to. 😮
That was so BRILLIANT ❤
🗺️📍
Because there is no such thing as a vampire.
Because they aren't real.
Because they don't have a soul.
Mirrors were believed to show (and sometimes capture) a person's soul.
Come on my guy.
"Why don't vampires cast reflections"
Because they were written not to. Vampires that don't cast reflections are not real. The writer makes them up. This means they can have whatever attribute the writer wants them to have.
This is definitely a candidate for "the worst of Ted".
no fun allowed
If you think this is the "worst of ted" you haven't seen many Teds. TED has been in the toilet for many years at this point. I've certainly seen far worse.
From what I’ve heard, it’s actually something cultures believed long before we were writing fictional stories for entertainment about vampires. Of course vampires don’t exist, but just saying. Plus, I doubt you’d be commenting this if this was a ted talk about religion or something. And what’s wrong with occasional goofy ted talks?
Plus, this relates to history. Prob are some historians that focus specifically on this topic

Having a religious subject talked about as a religious subject is completely different.
With vampires, there is no controversy: vampires are acknowledged by vampire fiction authors to be fictional. At least with religion you have someone somewhere claiming something is real.

There's a list called "the worst of Ted". At this point it's quite old. But it gives a good idea of what I'm talking about. The only one I can remember is the shoe-tying one. And a lot of music ones are on the list.
This won't be in the top five. But I'm pretty sure it belongs in the top 250.
I Guess this channel is running outta content🥲
so close to unsub this channel ,used to be a channel that inspire,
