- The Amazing World of Gumball Movie is currently in limbo. It's not heading to HBO Max anymore, but what about Cartoon Network? On a mysterious Gumball UA-cam channel, a new Gumball short leads to something wild that may or may not be connected to The Amazing World of Gumball movie. What does all of this mean?
While the Gumball movie was officially announced for HBO Max back in 2021, nothing has come of it since then. The Warner Bros Discovery merger cancelled and reworked a ton of Cartoon Network projects behind the scenes, but was The Amazing World of Gumball Movie affected?

All stock photos and images are either created by me or are sourced from publicly viewable image websites. People are getting real creative with the Gumball and Darwin animation rigs! If they had more character rigs, they could probably make a whole fan movie!
yeah! i commented something like this on the og video too. personally i don't think it's real, but it's genius. it kind of makes a double paradox in which the deeper you look into it, the more genuine it seems. in all honesty i could definitely see this as really smart marketing for the movie.

For Banana Joe I think they could get a Banana, put Googly eyes on it, get a mouth rig, and draw limbs. (They can get another Banana and peel it and then edit for him peeling, if the Banana rots too much, they can take off the Googly eyes and put them on another Banana.)
The voices are so weird and inconsistent, yet the animation is flawless, I’m totally puzzled.

This E Slater fella is mighty talented. I honestly wouldn't have thought it was fake if you didn't tell me (or if Darwin didn't say Disney+ lol 😂).
My mind says it's fake, but my heart wants it to be legit. With how random the official show is, it's not that far fetched if they promoted a film in a similar way.
The R34 logo at the bottom 3:00 hints at it being fake.
Doubt that would be shown it it were real

The Voice acting is Perfect! If this was an actual Teaser Trailer to The Amazing World of Gumball Movie, then this is Awesome Promotion to it.

Maybe this is his way of saying we shouldn't give up hope in the future for the movie, and that it won't be long before it finds a new home (after all, Gumball is really popular).

It's fake, but a very well made one. As you said, the clips come from the show, this is an edit with the mouths reanimated.
The voices clearly sound off, if anything that is the thing that should throw the whole thing. Gumball has already gotten a new voice actor for the Gumball Chronicles, Duke Cutler, and he'll most likely be in the movie with a voice that should be similar to early Season 6 Nicolas Cantu. As for Darwin, his last voice actor sounded nothing like that and will most likely get a fresh voice for the movie.
Second thing, the music isn't a valid argument. They got the music from the game files of the Vote for Gumball web game, already did so for a project and I can recognize it being from there due to the subtle school ambiant sounds.
Finally, the beginning of the video does not feel like an official joke, they would do that very differently.

People are saying the animation is flawless, but there are a ton of inconsistencies.
1. Gumball and Darwin dont have reflections on the desk, probably because the animator didn't actually have access to the official 3D model.
2. The keyboard is a lot brighter for some reason.
3. When Gumball mutes the video, there's no animation for it at ALL, again probably because they had to take the mouse from screenshots from the show.
4. The animation as a whole, especially the lip-syncing is much more limited and simple.
And of course the voices are REALLY good but not perfect and you can tell they're impressions.

I discovered one small recent update about the Gumball movie and that is one of the editors for the movie Gary Bradbury said that he recently finished his work for the movie from what he said in his LinkedIn account.

Yeah the rule34 joke immediately makes it seem fake. But then again, they're on UA-cam and not on CN so they can exploit the fact that they're not restricted by being on a channel for kids.
You forgot to mention the voice acting in this supposed fan trailer, Darwin sounds like he's voiced by Terrell Ransom but Gumball sounds like he's voiced by someone doing an impression of Nicolas Cantu and Jacob Hopkins.
Well both of them are far too old for the Gumball role now

If E Slater has been posting a whole ton of fan animations and logos and stuff for the Gumball movie, and the creator of the show even commented on the fake logo, I could see them contacting E Slater and working together to make an actual promo for the movie that seems like it’s just another hoax. Because that is genius marketing.
And that explains why some of his past content might not necessarily be family friendly, because Cartoon Network had absolutely no connection with those videos.

It might be real, having this super confusing stuff that makes us all speculate instead of an actual trailer is such a Gumball thing to do.

Its not the first time the creator doing memes inside of the show, I wouldn't be surprised if they were cooperating.
If it's fake then CN Needs to take notes or collab to make it real or at least mention eslater as a reference for the actual trailer of the movie. The meta humor is peak gumball and I can honestly see it being real.

I doubt it's real, the way the video is animated is different than the show is. It has a lot more tweening and weird shift movements that is generally not used for shows, especially if it was made by hanna-barbera animators. I don't think I've seen that style of animation used by that studio before. also the voices are obviously off and if it was a promotion for the movie I'm sure they would've gotten the best accurate voices for it. It's still really high quality though and I gotta give credit where it's due.
My guess is either e slater is just a big fan of gumball and did this as a joke, or they actually worked on the movie (which is currently in the editing process, apparently) and got the green flag to post this. (because if they DID work for the company and posted something like this without permission, they could get sued, and I doubt they would've wanted to risk that) I think it's the first one though, because the 2D gumball artstyle is pretty easy to replicate and I doubt CN would give the green flag to post this video if it was an employee. You never know, though. It's a pretty gumball way to promote their movie if you're asking me.
