The way they showed anxiety was so perfect anxiety isn’t an evil being more of a thing that tries to look at every social outcome to protect themselves but doesn’t realize that what it’s doing is hurting the person
fr!! i loved yet hated anxiety. she was trying to hard to make riley happier yet in turn was just making her worse, which really shows what anxiety is in it of itself. like u said, it’s an emotion that keeps you aware and prepared, yet too much of it is a horrible thing and does harm
I really like how it shows all emotions should be balanced. In first movie Joy was forcing Riley to be happy only and this meant Riley couldn't process big changes in her life in a healthy way that ended up causing harm to her. In this one Anxiety forced herself to be a sole lead to Riley, losing herself in her own frenzy, making Riley miserable just for the now unreachable end goal. Both Joy and Anxiety wanted to make Riley happy and ended up stumping her natural needs. Her body knew she needed to feel sad and that's why only Sadness's touch changed the memories and made her feel like she needs to touch them and only she could take out the idea to run away. And here Anxiety had to put MUCH more pressure on Riley, forcing her to do things she wouldn't have done otherwise. And having that pile of suppressed memories arrived in that lake, because Riley needs it all to be a fully flashed person.
My favourite part is actually when Riley's sense of self (cultivated by anxiety) forms and says "I'm not good enough". Anxiety's reaction of shock and denial was so powerful and it was so emotive to show how that belief could be formed from good intentions.
"Art teacher?" "Underappreciated." at this line in the movie my mother and i immediately turned to each other with jaws dropped. my dad is an art teacher.
I had an amazing middle art school teacher that I miss every day (*she’s not dead, it’s just that the art teachers at my high school aren’t as fun as she is) They really are under appreciated :(
I laughed so hard when i saw a comment somewhere saying "the only unrealistic thing about this movie is the fact that Riley got her shit together in 3 days" LMAOO
@@wooperfan584 In the first one we are shown that everyone has the same five emotions, and that they can work together to create more complex feelings. The new emotions may be great characters, but their roles are redundant. Anxiety is Fear. Embarrassment is Disgust + Fear Envy is a combination of Disgust and Anger or perhaps Joy Ennui is like Sadness or the absence of anyone at the console.
One thing that I haven’t seen anyone bring up is this movie’s focus on the color orange. It’s such a loud distracting color, similarly to how distracting anxiety is to feel Throughout the movie, more things seem to become orange. The memories, the sky, the lockers in the school, the shading on characters’ faces, the hockey jackets, then at the anxiety attack scene, literally every single visible thing is orange down to the background itself
Which is even funnier, when you see how similar Riley and her dad's Joys are- I specifically mean around the end when the dad's Anxiety appears, and his Joy was watching like "😮!"
Let’s be clear here, Anxiety isn’t the Bad Guy. She’s an antagonist. Which may sound similar but they are different, and Bad Guy is one who seeks to do anything to accomplish a goal even if it hurts others, and Antagonist is just someone who opposes the Protagonists which Anxiety does perfectly
Out of all the Pixar properties Inside Out is easily the most franchisable one. When Riley gets too old to be marketable just switch to a new kid, they have a lot of room to explore different kinds of people with different dynamics for the emotions. Like, at the very least a movie about an ADHD kid would be very distinct and entertaining.
I've been imagining ways that they could depict autism and adhd in the world, speakers that make external noises louder, having a hypersensitive control panel that overreacts and can overheat when too many emotions use it as a time, the projection of the real world occasionally blurring and focussing on one thing etc.
Right here 18:36 that part actually kind of gave me the chills the way she just says it’s so sinister “Joooyy… I know your in thheerreee…” creeps me the heck out
I didn't realize just how different the lighting was when you compare Inside Out 2 to the original... the new one looks so much more clean and vibrant, without feeling any different! Truly a masterful way of doing it.
I was really nervous about the movie being dull, I'm glad they made it more vibrant as it was much more visually appealing to me! I really hate when movies seem 'bland'.
As someone with an anxiety disorder, i found this sequel to be fantastic and deeply relateable. How anxiety tries to control and gameplan for every single little future scenario that it completely consumes Rileys life was very accurate. The panic attack was very faithful and a great representation of what it feels like on the inside - a desperate collapse of reality around you where you don't know how to calm down. The scene in the imagination room with anxiety/Joy was a great way to illustrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a real life therapy technique. It's brilliant how excellently everything was portrayed. Hands down my favorite pixar movie to date.
Honestly with the coach, I think the reason she was thinking Riley was "not ready yet" wasn't because of any skill related thing, but from more of a personality perspective, like how she was acting. Things that seemed small in the moment, like obsessing over practicing and not sleeping.
I think this is right because the ending kind of implies Riley made the team after the "base emotions" got back to headquarters and Anxiety was no longer in full control. It's a great analogy for real life, when you get super worried & worked up about not messing up which only causes you to mess up more than you would than if you had just taken a deep breath & calmed down.
Yes! Because if it were a skill thing and something was a little off the coach could work with her on that. But with personality/emotion based things she can’t.
At the scene where coach labeled Riley "not ready" in the list was needed since it shows that Riley wasn't mentally ready for the team and if you think about it, its true. She doesn't show respect to herself or any of the other team members and constantly tries to fit in, whats worse is that she didn't show to her coach that she doesn't have good teamwork (at the scene where she tries to steals the black thing from her teammates, idk hockey).
Yes, this was my first assumption while watching the movie. The coach noticed she was emotionally unstable, not mature enough to take on this, so she marked her as "not ready yet".
Inside out 2 made me not just want an inside out 3, but also an inside out 4 and maybe even 5. Each would be based on a critical point in life, each one having the potential to be a masterpiece.
@@naruinoiscanoninanalternat2947 That’s kind of the point. They picked the most generic characteristics for a person, and used simple everyday occurrences. This allowed all of the writers to work together and write how the emotions would behave in the circumstances.
@@naruinoiscanoninanalternat2947Riley managed to get her anxiety under control in 3 days and had mostly happy memories for 12 years. That’s pretty special to me.
funniest scene was when they were dropping riley off at the hockey camp and the dad looked at the mom and was like "So... rileys gone for the weekend... what are we gonna do?" 😏😏😏
i was watching this with my friends, I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED AND KEPT ASKING "guys, did you SEE that???" and they had no idea what i was talking abt
People always talk about panic attacks but never anxiety attacks. Riley having an anxiety attack made me feel so seen. An anxiety attack isn’t feeling like you’re gonna die. It feels like you’re drowning and everything is wrong and that no matter what, something is gonna keep going wrong. It sits in your chest and turns your stomach. Your breathing is uneven and you can’t stop trembling. Tears and despair. Anger and fear. You kind of…just fight yourself.
There was one line anxiety said that stood out to me and was what really made the movie connect with the "I just wanted to help her." Which is exactly why we have anxiety, it's there to keep us safe but to a point it stifles and causes issues in actually growing
I like how these movies make a point of showing no emotion is malicious and it's just a matter of regulating them properly I always think about how in earlier drafts there was a villain called Gloom but eventually plans changed and thus we got Sadness with Joy herself learning feeling sad isn't a bad thing,it's just natural to feel sad sometimes And this time around well,Anxiety pops up and being anxious is also normal, even with the many mistakes made Anxiety thinks she's right and as someone with anxiety... Yeah,a lot of her mannerisms I find pretty accurate It's just something I appreciate a lot, that no emotion is in a necessarily negative light
When i walked out of the theater, i immediately turned to my dad (Who is a mental health counselor) and said. "They totally had a therapist to consult on set." His response: "Oh yeah, definitely." They said word for word descriptions of anxiety that my Dad has told me time and time again. How Anxiety hyper focuses on things of the future and situations that haven't even happened yet. You can actually take SOLID advice from the moments in this film. From Joy telling Anxiety to focus on what they could control in the moment. And then Anger talking about mistakes. I loved it, and seeing Anxiety presented like that made her my favorite character just hecause of how much she represented my own habits and thoughts as someone who still struggles with it. Especially the things out of my control. Hands down the best anxiety and mental health rep I've seen in any Disney film.
As someone whose played sports my whole life...coaches quite frequently do the 180 degree turn in personality. Coach was nice to Riley after the Foghorns game as a recruiting tactic. But then once you're there its all business and really intense. I actually appreciated how accurate the portrayal of the coach was, because that's the moment in a young athlete's life where they find out if they love the game enough to pursue it at an elite level. Its not all fun and games at the higher levels.
I’m pretty sure that they made Riley look younger because when you think of memories of yourself you remember yourself as younger which kinda makes a lot of sense
FINALLY someone giving Luca and Turning Red the love they deserve, even if just a quick mention. Not sure if you have videos on those two movies but I will be watching them if so.
I predict that 3 will involve Riley moving out and not keeping in touch with her family as much as she could've, since the first movie teased the second with the puberty alarm, and this movie, I believe, is teasing the next with the tiny family island.
@@coolj4334 Ooo that’s a cool idea! I can see that in a situation where maybe Riley is going to college, and while struggling, she misses her parents or maybe neglecting them checking in on her(only to avoid the worry of them being disappointed in her if she’s failing or can’t handle it). To where at the end she visits home and reconnects with them after they show support that they love her and still will even if she’s struggling with school. Which the island ends up growing back to be big or at least medium size.
THIS MOVIE WAS SOOO GOOD i honestly love the way they executed anxiety as a kind of villain but still a hero in a sense helping riley get closer to making the team and i love how the last movie was about emotions becoming more complicated and becoming mixed and THEN theres this one getting MORE complex AND finding out how to deal with it THEY ALSO MADE EMOTIONS NOT JUST THEIR ORIGINAL EMOTIONS AND I LOVE THAT!! this movie got so many things right
A simple detail that i loved in this movie was that Anger gave that speach to Joy so they would continue. And sometimes, in life, Anger (in the sense of frustration) is also important to motivate you to change the situation you are currently in. I loved that they developed that positive side of Anger in this movie as well
in the scene where joy breaks down and starts crying Anger comes and talks to her, giving her motivation. That scene hit me as. Even though our joy can be killed sometimes Our anger will become motivation to kick start it back up again lol
lol I went to the movies to see this movie in a class trip, and when it was the part where riley was going to look at the notebook, I swear, all the kids next to me weren't even able to look at the screen while I was there casually drinking my cherry coke.
You know, I was thinking like: "if they are going to do another sequel, what emotion(s) would be added when she is even older? I can't think of any. What would other people think?" Then I kinda remembered some comic or meme post or something about like the "horny emotion" having to come with puberty? Like, I do not think that is something that pixar will do. But like, what if there doesn't come a new emotion? What if the next movie is about like, the emotions seeing as Riley's friends, classmates and teammates become older they get boyfriends, girlfriends ect. But Riley just doesn't see the appeal, and the emotions start to like, recognize that the other people in Riley's life are feeling some emotion that she doesn't feel? And they think something is missing, that there is supposed to be someone there, but isn't and they go on a journey through the mind (once again...) to find this missing emotion. Maybe they find the "attraction emotion" (since there is both romantic and ...horny attraction) but they are perfectly fine being a little hermit living wherever they are and don't wanna come to the headquaters. And the other emotions have to accept that. That Riley is whole without this emotion that other people are feeling , cuz she's aro/ace (or on the aro/ace spectrum). And I know it's like, "But aro/ace is queer! They don't want to put that in the movie cuz it will affect their sales." But like, I don't know. It would be a way to not have to deal with the y'know, fact that the majority of humans develop ...horny attraction to people... as they grow up, but it still being a kidsfilm? idk. (Also I'm on the aro/ace spectrum, so I'm coming at this with some lived experience. so like, this idea is not from an outside perspective. But I'm also not a monolith so other aro/ace people are gonna have a different opinion on the idea of representing these orientations within the setting of these movies!)
I think that it is important for what the notebook actually says, "Not ready yet" to context. The coach doesn't believe Riley isn't good enough in terms of skills, rather she is seen as too immature to be on the team because of the way she acts off the ice.
I think 'not ready yet' in the notebook would have had SO much more impact if it had meant that the coach's assessment of Riley wasn't ready yet (as in, she needed to observe more to assess her ability) - not that Riley herself wasn't ready for the team. Then it would have shown how much anxiety caused her to immediately jump to a false and twisted conclusion on the meaning of those words. I was sure this was where Pixar was heading with this idea when I was watching in the cinema, and Riley was going to blurt out to her coach what she'd read in secret before realising she'd interpreted it wrong, but then the entire 'sneaking into coach's office' scene became pretty much redundant - with no consequences. It was a missed opportunity in an otherwise great film.
Apparently they offered Bill Hader waaaaay less money than they did Amy Poehler And that's why we didn't get him It's a shame, but the guy we got still does good Replacing Mindy was the right move though
Even though the music wasnt made by Michael Giacchino, Andrea Datzman made an incredible and emotional score for this movie that I think can be compared to the first one easily. Sure its not as memorable as the first, but it is so well structured and creative when extending Giacchino's. I also love the animations (beautiful as always), the voice acting, and the plot and timing for each scene and act is great. Also I LOVE ENVY, ENVY IS LIFE, ENVY IS LOVE. I give this movie a 9.9/10, we're so back.
as a person with bpd, the whole identity crisis scene really hit home for me. i think i understand more than anyone how it feels to not know who you are, what defines you, or whether you're a good person. this movie captures this wonderfully, and though i know it's more about puberty than anything, i can't help but feel connections to my own mental disorders and how they affect me
Honestly this movie did not disappoint. I watched the original the day it came out in cinemas as a child. Now as a 17yr old girl I was SO HAPPY that they waited until we were teenagers before it was released. It helped me (and I presume any other teens) understand the movie’s intentions so well because I’ve experienced those moments in my own life. Having the avalanche of emotions hit Riley all at once was not only a great idea plot wise, it’s also genius because that real life experience feeling that is also so god damn accurate to how the film portrayed it. Naturally the gags like the sarcasm-chasm and thought streams are genius too, and really tie in with the plot advancement and how it correlates to real life. The best part of the film has to be the anxiety attack. You’re right in the sense that the best way to describe it is to experience it (1/10 experience, do not recommend!!!). The sporadic feeling of uncontrollable stress on the outside of the bubble vs the silence physically inside it (anxiety holding the console) is exactly how it feels. When you experience an anxiety attack (for those of you who don’t know) is like you’re not in control of a situation and everything feels super loud, even if you’re in a quiet place. Then when you calm down, the noise all of a sudden vanishes. The creators of the film captured all the emotions and gags so freaking well it’s incredible. They couldn’t have portrayed it better. 100/10 movie. Super emotional, I cried for a solid 15 minutes at the end, absolutely loved it!! 🥹❤️ I will say the post credits scene isn’t worth waiting for. Myself and the other teens who stayed all practically yelled at the screen ‘that’s it?! Come on!’ lol. Not with the wait
18:11 fun fact: someone actually pointed out that this is a nod to how animators at Disney or even the whole team in general aren't having the best creative time and animators have terrible conditions, it’s like a cry for help
I loved watching this movie! The humor was extremely funny, from the video game gags to blues clues references! Wish they showed more of other peoples mind.
I know that the emotions being put in a jar is supposed to represent "bottled up emotions", but WHY DID THEY CHOOSE A MASON JAR THEY COULD'VE CHOSEN ANYTHING ELSE AND THEY CHOSE A MASON JAR
Something that makes Inside Out 2 work so well is that the concept of the Inside Out franchise provides a ton of opportunities for storylines. Be it from the many different ways you can build the mind space, like the brainstorm, sarchasm, train of thoguht, etc or the amount of lessons you can get into with how the story is based around emotions AND how to deal with them or life in general. Like rn we have a story about dealing with sadness and anxiety, but you could have a story about maybe putting expectations on yourself and the consequences of putting to high of one’s, or about growing up into an adult and facing the real world but learning how to keep the inner child in you alive, or even learning to be grateful, there’s just a ton you could do with the concept inside out that helps makes the sequels so much better
I love anxiety so much as she really does portray how it feels to be anxious. I’ve always been really anxious and had more than my fair share of anxiety and panic attacks. It feels so awful to think I’m not good enough but I’d been working on that mindset before I even watched this movie and in the theater when I watched it with my friend she kept looking at me and was asking if that’s how I felt. I felt so understood and it’s such a great sequel to an already great movie
You know what would be an interesting follow up? A spin off where we explore the emotions within a person who isn't quite mentally stable. Think it would be interesting to see what Anxiety did to a person with an anxiety disorder, or see Joy being gagged in a person with depression! I think there's something to explore there.
I feel that, in the mind of someone with depression, the console would be mostly greyed out, like in the climax of the first movie. Like, the emotions can barely make it light up, despite their best efforts
One other thing that I like is that in the first movie, each emotion is slowly added and introduced, showing a nice form of progression. But in Inside Out 2, all of the new emotions are introduced basically at the same time, which I think is a great parallel to how puberty can sometimes feel like too many things start happening all at the same time
Something I've been processing as I am reaching 21 years old is understanding my emotions, how to communicate them, and understanding I am not defined by my past emotional turmoils. Watching this movie made me feel heard. Life becomes so complex the older you get, and so does your emotions because of the experiences you've gone through and the emotions you attach to them. This movie validated that for me and I can even say it helped me tie some loose ends on my own thoughts about my emotions. I genuinely appreciated this film.
Some underrated things about the movie: How realistic Riley’s story seems. The mostly up to date slang. The parallel of Anxiety in the second movie and Joy in the first. Anxiety was shown to be helpful in HEALTHY amounts.
As someone struggling with the anxious thoughts, when the emotions come together to love and celebrate Riley at her best and worst brought me to tears. I don't cry during movies so I was shocked when my first time was with a Pixar sequel
I won’t lie I originally had my expectations low when I saw it today, but OH MY GOODNESS IT BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER! This movie was AMAZING. One of my favorite Pixar movies now! It was such a fun time!
envy makes Riley want to try better and be good, embarrassed wants Riley to understand her limit and emmui(idk how to spell) makes Riley not over obsessed over everything I like how these emotions despite being so called negative truly are the emotions we need in a persons life and Anxiety gives us a little boost if you call it.
Honestly, having recently seen it, I think it's pretty good, the script didn't seem that thought out but the execution was actually pretty good. Considering my low expectations it actually was not bad.
2:43 see, I don’t care if a movie is supposedly lazy as long as I enjoy it. Like it doesn’t have to be a masterpiece for me to enjoy something. Obviously, you can tell the difference when something is a passion project as opposed to a studio just taking the easy way to make money. And obviously, a movie or show that had a lot of time, effort and care put into it deserves to have that recognized. I’m simply saying that I don’t need the movie to be something amazingly original and profound for me to enjoy it. Like I know something everyone hates is when a similar story trope is reused, but as long as the movie is enjoyable and I like the characters, I feel like it doesn’t matter. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion, of course, but I feel like stories that follow certain tropes are immediately looked down upon for being too predictable. I am of the opinion that predictability a bad thing. Of course, it’s nice when a story pulls off a twist well, but I feel that it’s becoming that people would sacrifice a story for a plot twist. Idk. To me, the twist is really only surprising the first watch, and after that, if it wasn’t executed well, the story will suffer for it. It just doesn’t seem worth it. Like if you like the characters, and they get you really invested into the story, it doesn’t matter if you can predict what will happen, you’re going to be on the edge of your seat waiting for the resolution. I can say this even when it comes to movies I’ve already seen. But this is just my personal opinion
I really really really want to see the emotions, old and new, interacting and doing their job, in like a dedicated short or smth. Maybe on Disney+, they sometimes do like little „slice of life“ bits there, right? I’m just really interested to see how their dynamic is now that things settled down, but 1. not wait for the next movie, but also 2. not jump into the next set of emotions and new plot with the next installment of the movie series. Also, can I just say that the anxiety attack scene was awesome in every way! I loved it so much!
i am not a movie critic, but i am an artist, and i gotta admit this movie made me realize how awesome these characters designs are like oh my GAHHH i love em so much
Watching this I learned that some terms in the english version of the movie were different than what I saw in the Brazilian Portuguese dub, the name sarchasm is perfect and them going through a brainstorm is amazing, I still want to see the english version eventually but even in Portuguese it was great. Though from what I saw from clips online I already really like Anxiety's voice.
I like that anxiety isn’t just completely villianous, and that the movie explains the real life emotion of anxiety really well. Anxiety is just over thinking, and over thinking the worst case scenarios. Technically anxiety is good since it helps you avoid bad things or dangerous things, but sometimes, and a lot of the time, it’s just stressing. I also like how envy is so small and looks a lot like a child. As a younger sibling I relate lol
Tbh I love Inside out 2 especially as someone who has Social Anxiety. Some movies will get it wrong but Inside Out 2 literally hit it right on the nose. The way Riley's experiences were collected by Anxiety because she was trying to make her a better person but failing and actually making her insecure and not helping her at all because she felt like she was something she wasn't. Which I'm pretty sure most people can relate to, not just people with anxiety. (Whole different sense of self) I also love the ending and how I guess Riley just becomes herself with the help of Joy and the others releasing all the bad memories and I think the end was kinda a whole "Don't let your emotions control you" which is also something I love.
When i tell you i relate to the characters in this movie, i mean it. And I remember watching inside out on my birthday when i was younger, and seeing the sequel release when i was a teenager? Best timing.
I love the fact how returning the original sense of self did not lessen the anxiety attack While the new orange one is already hazardous, the original one also served as kinda like an expectation. Its like how you try to be a good person all the time but beat yourself up over the mistakes you make and bad qualities you have But at the end of the day, both the bad and the good stuff make a person themselves ps. Ive never noticed how more vibrant and colorful the sequel looked compared to the first one until you mentioned it, no wonder why it felt so different (in a good way definitely though)
The sense of self was set up in such a way where I absolutely knew what the movie was going to touch on, my only question is how far would they go and I don't think they held back I only half expected them to make her say that she's not good enough And at the moment the new mixed sense of self formed, all these conflicting emotions and parts of herself starting to talk and be actually made me cry, moreso than I have in the last year, because I can relate to it so much And anxiety isn't the villain For all intensive purposes she is the antagonist of the story, but she isn't trying to actively hurt anyone, she just wants the best for Riley but she doesn't understand that she can't do that by herself Also I think the visual fidelity revieved a major upgrade, with more imperfections on the little pill characters, and just a lot more material (texture) detail in general Oh and I can't imagine how long the avalanche simulation would've taken I wonder if it was a regular rigid body sim, or more likely a specialised liquid sim where each particle had rigid body physics

Which is even funnier, when you see how similar Riley and her dad's Joys are- I specifically mean around the end when the dad's Anxiety appears, and his Joy was watching like
"😮!"

Specifically Riley’s kid, this is kind of a situation like Bluey we’re they could continue the franchise by generations
I've been imagining ways that they could depict autism and adhd in the world, speakers that make external noises louder, having a hypersensitive control panel that overreacts and can overheat when too many emotions use it as a time, the projection of the real world occasionally blurring and focussing on one thing etc.
@@anokartist2352 sick one bro

Things that seemed small in the moment, like obsessing over practicing and not sleeping.
thats true yeah
I'm pretty sure the black thing is called a puck
@@Grainofsand_gs It is :)
Its called a puck bro
Yes, this was my first assumption while watching the movie. The coach noticed she was emotionally unstable, not mature enough to take on this, so she marked her as "not ready yet".
Inside out 2 made me not just want an inside out 3, but also an inside out 4 and maybe even 5. Each would be based on a critical point in life, each one having the potential to be a masterpiece.

Sadly they need to work overtime to support Riley this day.
i was watching this with my friends, I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED AND KEPT ASKING "guys, did you SEE that???" and they had no idea what i was talking abt
There was one line anxiety said that stood out to me and was what really made the movie connect with the
"I just wanted to help her."
Which is exactly why we have anxiety, it's there to keep us safe but to a point it stifles and causes issues in actually growing
I like how these movies make a point of showing no emotion is malicious and it's just a matter of regulating them properly
I always think about how in earlier drafts there was a villain called Gloom but eventually plans changed and thus we got Sadness with Joy herself learning feeling sad isn't a bad thing,it's just natural to feel sad sometimes
And this time around well,Anxiety pops up and being anxious is also normal, even with the many mistakes made Anxiety thinks she's right and as someone with anxiety... Yeah,a lot of her mannerisms I find pretty accurate
It's just something I appreciate a lot, that no emotion is in a necessarily negative light

When i walked out of the theater, i immediately turned to my dad (Who is a mental health counselor) and said. "They totally had a therapist to consult on set."
His response: "Oh yeah, definitely."
They said word for word descriptions of anxiety that my Dad has told me time and time again.
Not sure if you have videos on those two movies but I will be watching them if so.
haha i do have videos on both of them but im not very proud of the vids! thats why i try and mention them in my new vids to make up for those haha
I predict that 3 will involve Riley moving out and not keeping in touch with her family as much as she could've, since the first movie teased the second with the puberty alarm, and this movie, I believe, is teasing the next with the tiny family island.
I definitely thought the small family island was going to be touched on more and another sequel would be a great way to do it
@@coolj4334 Ooo that’s a cool idea!
But I'm also not a monolith so other aro/ace people are gonna have a different opinion on the idea of representing these orientations within the setting of these movies!)
ngl sounds like a good idea
apply to join the storyboarding team xD
That's actually a really nice way to represent aro/ace people, ngl. It would fit in Inside Out's logic pretty well.

@@ohgin12345I think you're talking to yourself
I think that it is important for what the notebook actually says, "Not ready yet" to context. The coach doesn't believe Riley isn't good enough in terms of skills, rather she is seen as too immature to be on the team because of the way she acts off the ice.
this is true i should have acknowledged that lmao
@@Awesomemay holy cow I didn't expect you to reply I love your content 😭😭😭
14:18 actually anxiety’s called an antagonist because they are not really a villain but are in the way of the protagonist
With how many lines Disgust has in this movie, I would NOT be able to stand her if it was still Velma lady voicing her.

Even though the music wasnt made by Michael Giacchino, Andrea Datzman made an incredible and emotional score for this movie that I think can be compared to the first one easily. as a person with bpd, the whole identity crisis scene really hit home for me. i think i understand more than anyone how it feels to not know who you are, what defines you, or whether you're a good person. this movie captures this wonderfully, and though i know it's more about puberty than anything, i can't help but feel connections to my own mental disorders and how they affect me

It’s very good
Honestly this movie did not disappoint. 🥹❤️
I will say the post credits scene isn’t worth waiting for. Myself and the other teens who stayed all practically yelled at the screen ‘that’s it?! Come on!’ lol. Not with the wait

18:06 The climax of this scene is was also a reference to Apple's 1984 ad where they go swing something at the screen too
One other thing that I like is that in the first movie, each emotion is slowly added and introduced, showing a nice form of progression. But in Inside Out 2, all of the new emotions are introduced basically at the same time, which I think is a great parallel to how puberty can sometimes feel like too many things start happening all at the same time
embarrassment got that “his palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy theres vomit on his sweater already, moms spaghetti”
That Anxiety attack scene really hit me. For real, that scene where Anxiety is standing in place with the orange vortex scares the crap out of me

Hi! Love your videos!!!!1111 ❤❤❤😊😊😊😅😅
As a dedicated Bluey fan, I pulled out the bulletin board when I heard “Bloofy” and “kids show” and “still watches it” in the same sentence.
I’m gonna b honest I didn’t know anyone else read rania telgamiller books. 😭

I loved it so much!
i am not a movie critic, but i am an artist, and i gotta admit this movie made me realize how awesome these characters designs are like oh my GAHHH i love em so much
there's a post credits scene where riley is hanging out with val and the others, and she's waiting to see if she made the team

You Forgot Deep Dark Secrets...
I'm telling you that this will just fuel Pixar to make even worse sequels.
When i tell you i relate to the characters in this movie, i mean it.
And I remember watching inside out on my birthday when i was younger, and seeing the sequel release when i was a teenager? Best timing.
I had no faith in this movie before it came out but man was it good. I would love an inside out 3
Another ship that has been in the movie series for a while is fear and disgust
For me the depiction of anxiety was so good in this film
The king is back
I love the fact how returning the original sense of self did not lessen the anxiety attack
While the new orange one is already hazardous, the original one also served as kinda like an expectation. Its like how you try to be a good person all the time but beat yourself up over the mistakes you make and bad qualities you have
But at the end of the day, both the bad and the good stuff make a person themselves
ps. Ive never noticed how more vibrant and colorful the sequel looked compared to the first one until you mentioned it, no wonder why it felt so different (in a good way definitely though)
Imagine watching this video early? Could be me!
The sense of self was set up in such a way where I absolutely knew what the movie was going to touch on, my only question is how far would they go and I don't think they held back
I only half expected them to make her say that she's not good enough
And at the moment the new mixed sense of self formed, all these conflicting emotions and parts of herself starting to talk and be actually made me cry, moreso than I have in the last year, because I can relate to it so much
And anxiety isn't the villain
For all intensive purposes she is the antagonist of the story, but she isn't trying to actively hurt anyone, she just wants the best for Riley but she doesn't understand that she can't do that by herself
Also I think the visual fidelity revieved a major upgrade, with more imperfections on the little pill characters, and just a lot more material (texture) detail in general
Oh and I can't imagine how long the avalanche simulation would've taken
I wonder if it was a regular rigid body sim, or more likely a specialised liquid sim where each particle had rigid body physics
Dang 9 years that’s scary
