Hey guys! In this video we show you how to fix codes:
C0050 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit - Low Signal Amplitude
C0045 - Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit - Signal Erratic
These codes popped up on our Chevrolet Malibu. And the traction light was on as well as the abs light. Causing our ABS not to work properly. And the reason why these lights come on it’s most likely due to a bad wheel bearings sensor or the actual wheel speed sensor itself..
With minimal tools and lots of patience you can save yourself a lot of money by doing this job yourself at home!

I gave you a thumbs up! Nice job. The only things I would do is to put some anti-seize on the bearing hub bore and mount flange, not much but just a thin film because they are different metals. I would dab some dielectric grease on the connector end of the speed sensor even though you did not take it apart, under the car or if thru a grommet in the trunk.
Some are harder, some are easier, either way you did a fine job! Plus, it goes on 2015’s too.

Twice I got the Stability Trak warning. But it went away by itself, the problem is that now the tire that is behind the driver's side when you brake something hard gets stuck, what can I do? I am from Mexico trying to communicate with you to know if you think it could be this failure of what you mention, no workshop can find the problem. I don't have any light on or abs, nothing, also, it is worth mentioning that if the tire is immobilized, then you step on the brake several times, it comes off, the tire moves forward again, but I want to not struggle any suggestions? I have already asked for enough money 😢, already changed front brake pads, rectified discs, purged all the tires and nothing, now they told me to change the brake pump to see if it is solved, because the brake was also sinking a lot, so they filled and purged, but it remained the same. It is malibu 2013, comes from the snow, if this little rust from below. I ask you please for an opinion. Thank you!
@@yessicarh7527 If you have any model of 2013 Chevy Malibu, you have a bad ABS reluctor. It requires replacement of the hub and note if asked, it has ABS. The signal generator it stationary. It points to a flange in the back side of the hub and it a magnetic disc that is epoxied onto it. The work loose, break, crumble or fall apart. Either way it is a well know issue with any Chevy dealer. Guys who own tool boxes at repair shops work on all different cars every day, most have no clue. Remember, it is not the name on the shop but the service tech in back.

The hub is mostly the problem and if defective long enough it will turn the ABS light on with “ABS signal Iratic code. The flat magnet material on the back flakes off, chips out in chunks large or small or simply falls out of place and lands on the road.
Dealerships use a factory scan tool that in “ABS, TC” will see up to 5 stored history codes. So intermittent is harder but up in the air, they can see each flat magnetic sender if parts are missing or rubbing making a small tinny noise. It is easy to spot. Labor, no idea, but book time could be 2.0hrs front less on rear. I have no idea. The scan tool will show while driving the speed from each wheel, so at 30 MPH, 3 read 30, but left front reads 29 or 28, it is defective. When coming to a stop, the signal drops out or disappears. The car thinks the wheel is sliding on snow or ice and goes into ABS mode or Traction Control. That’s why it wants to lockup or the feeling you described!
Sorry, but true. 5 history codes the dealer can read but other repair shops only show what is current!

@@yessicarh7527 If the car is from areas with snow, road workers put salt to melt it. This causes rust quicker, and for this stabilitrac system, ABS or Traction Control the magnet on the hub will fail! The people who did new brakes, rotors and rotated wheels and told you to pump on them are just plain dumb asses. They took your money and sent you away. Yes, you may have needed brakes as the front does 80% of the stopping, but don’t do that!!!! Yes a dealership may charge a little more, but you have just thrown good money out the window and still have the problem. If in “Old Mexico” and can not leave, find a GM dealership with shop and show them my answer. I am 1,800 miles away plus seeing a Dr for a bad back! I can’t help you. Get to a Chevy dealer as they have to correct scan tool and most likely have the parts in stock! That is how common it is.
Say you had a cat that was sick, you don’t take it to a horse Dr. do you! No… The Malibu is a popular car and since the hub fits 2013-2015 and the sensors fit the front, left or right side from 2013-2015, then they keep those sun stock at the dealer. Work with them price because I have no one I know still working for GM, the dealers, or ACDelco! They have retired. Best luck but they can see it, hear it or both while on the lift off the ground!

Wheel speed sensor can be the problem triggering the Service stabilization track causing engine power reduction.

Hey i changed both sides amd the lights are still on jow long did it take for the lights to come off its been about a good half hour now that i chaged it and i ran the car and the lights are still on
If it did not turn off like he said then he just deleted it with the obo scanner.

The “service stabilitrak” light came on and the check engine light started flashing couldn’t pull over put everything went back to normal after a minute is that normal?
Hmm that doesn’t sound normal to me... if it keeps happening I suggest having the Chevy dealer do a diagnosis on the vehicle
My 2016 Chevy Malibu did this yesterday. I stopped and turned my car off and it didn’t happen again
@Julissa Martinez - Please understand it is software that stores even a temp failure. ABS and Traction Control is nice but only "Stability Control" is required by the Government. If a failure occurs during a drive cycle, it is saved in memory, and it may be a rule that the light flashes. A condition that threatens the catalytic convertor will flash on time per second. By stopping, turning the key off, the light may be commanded off, but the code is in history as GM stores 5 events. Aftermarket scan tools only see the last failure. By design, the sensor has an air gap, and the ring-shaped magnetic material can come loose. It may have moved during a corner turn or simply got so close to the sensor; it could not read it. This will show zero miles per hour on a scan tool. I wish you the best. ASE Master, retired.

I replaced batteries, still had problem and car turned off on me while driving and moving with both of those error messages displayed. Hoping it is the sensors or bearings as u mentioned here.
hey there! thanks for watching! that should not cause your car to turn off.. that may be an issue with the auto stop/start feature, does your car have that? anyways... I suggest getting your vehicle diagnosed professionally first before spending money on parts.
Have both big and small batteries tested with conductance tester. Clean terminals and check all grounds or add more. The back end frame of alternator is ground from diodes. Add bolt & large cable to engine. Depending on age, starter wears. It is most likely the Mitsubishi gear reduction. The 3 bolts and solenoid end cap comes off. 3 styles of contacts can b bought for $10 at “Fridge-A-King” refer truck part center. GM bought into Isuzu in 67, to get the 3 cylinder diesel for refrigerator truck trailers to haul cold meat cross-country. The starters have thick contacts that have o-rings and thick plastic washer insulators. Plunger has copper plate that cleans nice on wire wheel. It tilts as needed with a spring on top to allow for un-even wear on contacts. This starter is used on Dodges, Toyota’s, Geo Prism, Isuzu, GM’s just everything. I rebuilt hundreds over the years! Easy to work on, just some hard to get removed on some. Best of luck. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired.

Yes you need an OBD scanner that can read SRS & ABS codes and should be able to find out through there

@@goose1775 we always suggest going with the OEM part from the dealership. but if that's too expensive then please choose the aftermarket.. you may have to replace it more often than original but it should still work just as good.

Excellent question. It could be front or rear bearings or faulty sensors.
Mamm, They have to properly diagnosed because there are 4-wheel bearings that have a flat rubber-like ring glued to the back of them. The air gap between the tone generator and sensor is very important for stabile readings under different temperatures and weather. Snow + Salt causes rust which can damage the adhesive holding these in place as well. Everyone has a different design. I prefer metal tone rings with magnetic sensors that use copper wire going back to 1992 on Buicks. GM dealers use a recording device to allow you to drive or the tech to record while driving. I have taken customers cars home overnight before with their knowledge. ASE Master, Retired

i had the stabilitrak problem. it turned out my battery was low. if your car dont start on stabilitrak errror. just jump it.

@@HidalgoMotorsCo the place i got the car from strapped a gps tracker directly to the battery, we removed it and the problem has gone away. any other problems would most certainly been the need of a new battery. thanks boss.
I jumped the car off now I can't drive it it shuts right back off when you put it in drive and I bought a new battery

Stabiliatrck comes on then no power... Parts store said spark plugs so I replaced the plugs still the same... When they plygged in the reader says misfire...
That is the same thing they told us.. Exactly plugs misfire...
@Steven Yazzie - The same system that provides Stability Control operates the ABS and if equipped on base models, traction control. They use a large 60-80 Amp circuits to run a pump & group of solenoids. When the system is activated, a large amount of current is pulled from the alternator. Chances are this part of the system pulled down system voltage from a bad alternator or connection near the alternator. When this happens, voltage to the entire system drops and the coils require good voltage and some amps to create spark. Remember, the system uses the ground to return to the battery with is directly connected to the alternator. Almost all alternators have 3 positive and 3 negative diodes inside them to change alternating voltage to direct voltage. If one or more is leaking electricity backwards this will show on a good digital multi meter are A/C voltage on a DC circuit. A spec of 0.90 Vac with engine at 2K RPM would be max. Normally 0.005 - 0.012 Vac is normal. It is part of best practices, but few techs do it or know it. I would study the supply for the electrical and with the engine running, do a voltage drop test test...a good tech should know this! Hope all is well now!
