    As others have said so well, excellent video. In my case, I would have probably spent around $400, but even then it would have taken two months for an appointment. The clarity of this video allowed me to brave the repair myself and I couldn't be more pleased with myself. (lol) Cost: $84 for diagnostic report, $17 for sensor from Amazon. Now I look forward to saving $84, next time, by using my new diagnostic scanner ($98.99), and @chrisfix will be my first stop every time.

    Thank you for the video. Helped me a great deal on my 2015 Sonata Limited. Only the right side was bad, but replaced both sides. If one side goes bad the other side is right behind, right? Saw other UA-cam videos on this... By far this is the best one with the best lighting/video angles.
    Dealer quoted me $550 USD for this fix. Sounded way too high for me.
    On my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport replacement, removed the entire caliper bracket along with attached Caliper (squeezed a little caliper cylinder w clamp to ease removal/installation of entire Caliper Assembly).
    The use of the offset 14mm wrench - bought a set for this fix - to remove the lower bolt on the caliper bracket was invaluable, else it would required more disassembly in the rear suspension, something I was not willing to do.

    Good video, just one correction needed, all you have to do is push the clip in and the plug will release when pulled. I looked up how to change it in Mitchell since I found the sensor separately at one of the parts stores. Mitchell said to remove the front wheel and the back seat. I think that comes from Hyundai. What? Remove the front wheel and rear seat back, that's insane. It still never mentioned how to separate the sensor from the hub. I figured I would have to pull the hub to do it but wanted to see if there was a way to pry it out without removing the whole assembly. Thanks.

    Dealer quoted me 450 for one, 700 for both. This video will help me do the job myself. I bought the genuine KIA part (20 bucks! on ebay), and an 8 dollar offset box end 14mm wrench. Thanks for the clear, concise step by step video! BTW ... Auto Zone diagnosed the problem even to which wheel sensor was causing the lights to stay on for..FREE!! Only thing I may do in addition is to put a little silicone caulk at the outer edge of the part before tapping it all the way down. KIA had a service bulletin on this 7 years ago for this car, and it said it will help keep water out which can wreck the sensor.

      I did this repair today. Went well after watching this video several times. On my 2013 KIA Sorento FWD I didn't need the offset box end wrench. But, after I finished, I started the car and the warning lights (ABS, ESC, downhill assist) still came on and stayed on. Rats! I pulled the car up and down the driveway. Still on. Disconnected the battery for about an hour. Nope..still on. Then, went for a drive around the block and the lights all went out! YAY! So...in my case it was different from the video which showed them going out immediately. So, if this happens to you, don't despair until you drive the car and spin the wheel fast enough for the sensor to pick up the signal. Thanks Again for the clear video!

    They had a RECALL 949
    RR WHK SPEED SENSOR INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT in 2021. Have brought my 2014 Sante 4x to the dealership and still same lights on for 5 years AND did the recall! They never fix the issue. Codes showing C1206 rear lh open/short, C1209 rh lh open short and C1210 rh range performance intermittent. Supposed to have this looked at again next week, Hyundai corporate making empty promises though. Please help. After seeing this wondering if I can get a $20 to $100 part and bring it to a local mechanic. These greedy dealers are going to want to change me that just for a diagnosis. Again FIVE times bringing it in even during the warranty and it was never fixed . Any advice? Thank you so much.

      If it happens intermittently and it happened again after the replacement, I would suspect a faulty connector or wiring.
      if you have experienced mechanic, they can read raw data from sensor with the advanced OBD2 tool and analyze them. wish you good luck.

      This is not a consumable item, so you don't need to change it unless it's broken. If the ABS warning lamp is on, the vehicle may lose control in an emergency braking situation.

    How did you know which sensor has the error?

    • @_yamech7533
      @_yamech7533  2 роки тому +1

      You need to scan OBD2 error code. 00:00:47 I got code number C1208. It means “Rear Left Wheel Speed Sensor Invalid Or No Signal”. Each sensors has different error codes.

    • @_yamech7533
      @_yamech7533  Рік тому

      You may want to check brake line such as caliper, ABS module and pipe line. ESC failure can cause wheel lock up, also you have to consider that lock up wheel can cause ESC light on.

      Sensor can cause ESC error but will not lock up. Stability control program use a lots of information like steering wheel angle, wheel speed, gas pedal, brake pedal, etc to determine vehicle maneuver.
