Legendary’s Godzilla franchise is quickly turning into the F&F franchise. Kong’s gonna learn English and his first word is gonna be “Family”.
Thanks GameMill, very cool 👌
🤣
"Fambly."
Ironically enough, Godzilla and Anguirus actually spoke in Godzilla vs Gigan. And since Legendary is going full showa era I wouldn't be shocked if Goji and Kong speak at some point lol
More like the F&F franchise became the Showa Godzilla era
In gamer terms kong decided to play mainly story mode while godzilla decided to grind and level up
And then became Player Two to help Kong win
And mothra was the mom that made them play together @@c-o-b-o-2010
@@Thechomp1eman 🤣 That’s true!
@@Thechomp1eman lol, pretty accurate
Kong acquired a mount, legendary weapon and a pet.. godzilla grinded to lvl 50 😂
this movie had the most monster screen time of any of the movies by far. there were 15 min stretches with absolutely no humans
Yeah that’s also its biggest flaw tho
Yes, we want less human talking scenes, great!
But taking humans out of the picture almost entirely (EX: most of the movie not having society or big buildings in the background of fights)
Completely ruins the scale. While I loved the Skar King scenes in hollow earth , they might as well have been normal sized monkeys fighting each other
So yes, less human pointless cringe one liners is great! (Looking at you, black dude with camera documentary)
But the removal of them altogether ruins the concept of “giant” monster movie
@@DukesFinalBoss and I completely disagree, I think this movie is a massive step up from Godzilla vs kong, it feels like classic Godzilla movies and I love that and what in gods earth are you talking about? They don’t look like giant animals yes they do.

I like Alex, I always look forward to hearing his take.
I love how when Alex is complaining, Joe is just admiring his godzilla 😂
Haha😂
Lalalala i don't hear you alex
@HappyDude1 I love Alex but sometimes he's way way too critical.
I genuinely think that’s why people watch Joe in the first place. If he was having a mature adult conversation about the movie then it would just be like every other movie review. But Joe just ignores everything his friends say

Joe defending Man of Steel's slaughter is so funny because he is basically comparing Superman's intelligence to that of a bunch of giant territorial animals who couldn't care less about humans.
LOL
I look at Superman in Man of Steel as an emotional guy who got into his first real fight with someone as powerful as him. The way he reacted to Zod threatening his mom showed that but it would have made more sense if he didn’t look like a grown man. Still, I definitely the criticism, he could have avoided all of the collateral damage. I can’t wait to see how James Gunn does it in his movie.
Man of steels final battle wasn’t that bad
Ishiro Serizawa was the only human that should've stay as a main human character and they killed him.
I recently learned about a device called the Demon Core which has a wild story. They could have used that instead of a bomb and it would have worked just as well but wouldn’t have destroyed everything and the Dr could have left before it closed.
And then in GvK they introduced his son and killed him off immediately.
Godzilla is approaching the generator. The generator is losing power.
they just kill them off or its a revolving door bc nobody wants to act in this embarrassing crap, its just a paycheck. Nobody goes to these movies to see the dumb human drama.
Well, except for Godzila Minus One, tho its hard to top that great film. Rare you get invested in well written humans in a monster film?@@mediumvillain

Agreed
did Godzilla ever even have good writing? I know the first Japanese Godzilla is symbolizing this force of nature that comes out of the Sea and destroys Japan, symbolizing World War 2 and the U.S. winning the Naval war and unleashing a bombing campaign on Japan, but it was still not like a well written story or anything

@@RetroBacon1i wonder what kind of a movie alex would get excited to talk about..
Clearly depressed and needs help
I really hope we get a Godzilla centered film where Kong assists based on their new 'partners' dynamic. I will still hold out hope for Destroyah in this series
If they ever kill off Godzilla, which I doubt, it would likely be Destroyah who does it. Instead, Destroyah might bring Godzilla close to death but Kong will save him like in GvK.
Which is funny because they LITERALLY reference Destroyah's creation in King of the Monsters with the Oxygen Bomb. They have it set up right there.
personally i'm looking forward to an outright alien invasion plot or bringing back mechagodzilla but this time on the good side and piloted internally like a gundam
@@Bobby__B They didn't. The weapon "Oxygen Destroyer" was from the original 54 movie. The oxygen destroyer in the original movie completely disintegrated Godzilla. The new oxygen destroyer just weakened godzilla. Didn't kill him. There were no particles to seep into the ground from using the oxygen destroyer.
Honestly, I *don't* want Destoroyah in the Monsterverse largely because it would lack any of the meaningful impact and symbolism like the Heisei one had by bringing things full circle with a Godzilla death.
I'd rather they use something like the still-unused Bagan ("Super Godzilla" version) or something as a really big threat.
The "Winter Godzilla" is named Shimo and she's female.
Plus her face looks so cute when she's looking up at the sky as Godzilla blasting the sky clear.
"Dear Mothra.!!! He's so hawt!!! 🔥😍🔥"
This is the first video where I have disagreed with you guys in the beginning of the video.
The movie was , fun, over the top, exciting, and told a complete story.
I would have been happy if they made it a 3 hour movie honestly.

I agree the last 30 mins should have been streched to 45-50 mins. It's seriously my only complaint. The movie was fun.
I tend to disagree with AngryJoe with anything related to Godzilla these days. He just doesn't seem to understand the franchise and also seems to be out of touch with the fans.
See, you can't make everyone happy. You want just the monsters, they give it to you and you crap all over it.
But that’s not how Godzilla and Kong would act. It’s bs.
Then they get mad when they don’t know what’s going on lol

I will say one thing. So the psychic girl is a reference back to an old Godzilla movie where there was a whole tribe that was psychic and can communicate telepathically. So if you're a big fan that is kind of cool they're trying to bring that back I just don't think they executed right
Agreed!
What it is its more like remember that we doing it in our movie, not this is interesting lore that we are going to expand on creative ways
Which movie was this? I remember Miki the psychic character but what movie was the tribe in?
@@Surithephage so it was in the movie Mothra 1961. She has twin girls called mothra's fairies. They basically spoke for her I believe. So not technically a Godzilla film.
After seeing the movie I'd say it was done decently well. It definitely is ridiculous if you don't know the lore but the I was with audience didn't seem to mind and was having a blast regardless lol
The girl pulled a Sam Witwicky when she drew those readings
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 bruh
Facts 😂😂
This film knows exactly what its trying to do and when it does it, it’s done extremely well.
There are of course some critiques I have with this film, but overall…wow…what a fun film.
My theater had audiences laughing and clapping. I could feel all the smiles throughout the theater. It’s definitely a good time.
No movies is perfect, and you can only do so much in hour and 45 - 50 minutes
I agree with Joe that it's braindead but as a Godzilla fan that was the best dumb fun I've ever had. I hope for more ridiculousness after seeing mini-kong turned into a nunchuck and the anti-gravity fight. My only complaint is that some of the framings during the fight scenes are pretty messy that it gives me Michael Bay Transformers vibes. lol All in all I'd gladly waste my money for more of this bullshit 😂 Just these kaijus being absolute units.
Actually a fun flick for just ridiculous Sci fi action. Thank goodness they keep leaning these out. The next one should be 105 minutes.
Then why are there humans in the movie if they are worst part of the movie? They don’t even try.
It was ridiculously fun, I was grinning ear to ear the whole time. I think the only thing I’d change is instead of like Joe said just show us scar King’s rise to power. And while we’re at it just have him on screen a bit more cause it was genuinely sick seeing him fight and move around on screen.
You can’t expect zero human characters come on lol
He just wants there to be random human characters pointing n going “Godzillaaaaa!” Everytime Gz pops up on the screen.

Ofcourse he hasnt. He 100% havent seen ANY of the japanese godzilla films at all. Because its Joe.
That’s if James Rolfe can even be bothered to leave his house to watch the movie that…he’s literally doing the bare minimum for his videos, you really think this guy is going to take the time to get dressed, leave his house, watch the movie, then make a 10 or 15 minute UA-cam video reviewing said movie? There’s not enough time in the day for him
I believe it's not the quantity of human characters but rather the quality.
The humans are rediculously bad
The quality of the humans was so bad I think he means.
7:58 ok but that’s not a fair comparison tho cuz the apes talk so they can actually express they’re emotions and in this they don’t speak at all except “ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!” Like yeah body language and facial language is important but still yea get what im trying to say?
Exactly. I think a lot of people have been spoiled by the more serious toned Godzilla minus 1. From other reviews I heard it’s a lot more fights in this one than the others. He gave Kong Skull island an 8.5 but that was mostly around Human characters.
@@johnnyappleseed8127 oh my god yeah so they makes him a hypocrite then even those characters werent written well either wtf 🤣☠️
@@MrRobeStern64 That makes him bias because it wasn’t enough Godzilla. They just had full Godzilla movie so they should be well satisfied even with the little screen time he had here. Let's face it joe is never satisfied even though he claims he's a fan. If your a fan then you should just appreciate how it is made and if you love the monster battles YOU GET THE BATTLES like what more can you get from it like be glad they improved it. Every godzilla film has many humans and I swear they are way to much into fixed human dialogue. Overall this movie was better than godzilla vs kong and kotm for sure

@population-_-420 did u see it?? Cuz I know ur theater cheered end of story
Joe must of slept through this movie, they focused on the monsters way more than the humans, not sure why Joe wants just a monsters on the screen and no human interaction at all
I think it’s because except the parts where they help Kong with injuries they detract and don’t add much good
Most of it is just too silly I don’t buy into the light hearted goofy act they are being forced into by the script and I believe that’s what they are calling out
There could have been more thought put into it for the human focus in these films
It’s better but there is more to gain
My summary of this film:
Godzilla is approaching the artic, the artic is losing power.
Kong is taking his "son" to school.

4:42 literally asking for the impossible. They do less and less humans to the point it's actually impressive and this guy STILL wants less humans. Why should they try to make you happy if you always want more no matter what
7:52 Its wild to me that this guy keeps complaining about this in GxK.
This was a very good movie.. these guys are lost in their own sauce at this point.. humans were very unobtrusive in this film.

@@Oryyyt Why is a fun monster movie a bad movie? Because it's not gonna win awards for original screenplay? Because youtubers won't make video essays about the acting? This isn't Oppenheimer. It's not trying to be Oppenheimer. Not every film had to be Oscar bait.
@@ScottPress I agree it's not trying to go for any oscars. It knows what it is. That's a good thing. People enjoy it myself included. But even I admit that I had to turn off my brain for this one and forgive it's shortcoming which there were a lot like the plot holes, overkill exposition and the final fight concluded too quick after all that build up etc. We can see how it could've been better in a lot of areas but we just chose to let it go cause it is what it is. Its okay if the people in the video disagree with you. Just because someone says a movie that you like isn't very good, doesn't exactly mean they missed the mark. I like movies that some people don't like too. You're like a comment in videogamedunkey's video about game critics lmfao
2 things that didn't make sense to me...1) Godzilla sleeping in Rome with people around him going about their normal lives...instead of Godzilla given an uninhabited Island to lay on. 2) Sending a motley crew of misfits into a world full of millions of giant predators without any military support...and only 1 gun.

I thought that was a cute and funny idea having Godzilla sleep in the Rome Colosseum
You think they’re gonna tell godzilla to sleep on an island instead? Godzilla sleeps where he wants

I want Gamera to show up next. Do something with Atlantis
Unfortunately, Gamera is from a different studio and it's doubtful that Toho would want to allow collaboration with them. Otherwise, we probably would have had a canonical Godzilla/Gamera crossover film back in the 80s/90s Heisei era.

Oh look Alex doesn’t like a movie and he’s bitching about it. What a surprise!!! So refreshing!!
I have to ask how many Godzilla movies have y'all actually watched? The majority of the original Japanese movies were heavily human-focused right from the start. Gojira was originally the embodiment of man-made disasters and was an antagonist to the human characters. He would eventually evolve into a protagonist role in the 'Godzilla/Gojira vs [Y]' type movies in the 60s onwards. Those movies had more monster screentime, but the primary POV was still mostly the human characters. Then there was a revival and return to his antagonist role in "Return of Godzilla" in 1984. He wouldn't be a protagonist again until the mid-90s. Then came "Shin Godzilla", that made him an antagonist again.
I think this is a case of misremembering/false memories. Or maybe y'all are confusing the movies with that animated Godzilla show from late 70s early 80s.
I lost it when Godzilla hit Kong with the brain buster

I would love to see a 3rd film where the humans/government realize the damage and death the monsters/Godzilla are causing is to dangerous to allow them to roam free so they bring in Jaegers from Pacific Rim(made by legendary films) fight/capture Godzilla, Kong and the other Titans
As soon I saw THAT scene I immediately bust out laughing and said-
Godzilla is approaching the generator, the generator is losing power!
CGI Kong had more acting range in one movie than Bree Larson and Daisy Ridley combined in 6. And a better story arc.
He had real struggles that he had to overcome, sickness, injury. He had to use his brain to defeat a more powerful enemy. He had to learn that teaming up is necessary for success. He even freed his people and made 2 new friends along the way. He had to learn new technology. The only thing missing was a training montage.
He also survived a vertical suplex off of a pyramid from Godzilla. 10/10 exactly what I expect from a Kong and Godzilla movie.
Is Godzilla and Kong: the new Empire better than Godzilla 1998
No, no it isnt, because unlile the 1998 one godzilla x kong ruined my childhood.
That’s not saying much
This film just makes Godzilla 1988 better
Yes. Yes it is
No lol.
The other titan is shimo, the names was released months ago and was mentioned in the movie.
Alex needs to switch his brain off for once and enjoy the film. Mans always looking for interstellar level plot in lizard boy vs big monkee.
Most reviewers didn't get this movie haha Complaining about the exposition in the film when the whole film was basically being narrated by the humans proves my point. This was a very good movie with a lot of heart.
Scar King looked like Groundskeeper Willie from The Simpsons 😆
I think the sense of scale of the kaijus is so much worse in this film. It’s been declining with every iteration.
I completely agree!! The only sense in scale I got in this film was when the girl touched Kong’s finger.
That’s what I loved about the first one it made Godzilla tremendously huge and fearful. In this one I take him less serious.
@@saint_tac05 For sure, that’s one of my favourite parts of Gareths Godzilla, the scale is amazing and just the whole ground level perspective. Despite all its flaws.
At this point in the Monsterverse most viewers know how big Godzilla and Kong are. I don't need them constantly scaled against a known landmark to go "oh, Godzilla/Kong is huge!" I already know they are. Same with new titans. Put them next to known titans and we can infer their size.
@@kamikazipidgion it’s not about having a size reference. It’s about having the movements being heavy enough and perspectively correct for the size of how a cameraman would capture it. The first Pacific Rim film is a great example as well, captures the magnitude of the kaijus and robots in an excellent way with how the camera is positioned and how we would *if they were real* be able to film them.
@timforsgren5275 I've had issues with weight since even 2014. Movements are nice and slow like I would expect them to be, but people don't seem to react to even Godzilla footsteps right next to them (such as the airport scene). A good bit of titan movement is nearly silent as well. And Godzilla's roar would destroy Ford being so close when G calls out the female MUTO 😆 Although most of the unrealistic silence in that film is an artistic choice.
You guys are nuts! This turned out to be the PERFECT movie!! The best human characters, the story of the bad guys work! I love how they tie it to the Monach Apple show, everything works! You guys even missed a big Easter Egg, one I mention in my review on what King Scar really is! 😁🤙

Dog you know he had to say it cause Imagine he says in the interview it’s okay or it’s trash than it would of been awkward like dog think about it 😂
It looks like straight trash.
@ivangarcia6816 But that doesn't mean he didn't still enjoy it. Sure, he wouldn't have bashed the film, but he didn't have to say as much good about it as he did. You can normally tell by how they talk about it if they genuinely enjoyed the film or not, and he honestly seemed to. The movie was a lot of fun anyways so I'd see why anyone would enjoy it, myself included.
Some PR shit 😂
This film was epic, if you grew up watching the old stuff from the classic Godzilla it, pays tribute. Good fun times, seems like alot of movie review people forgot what Godzilla was about. This is a Tribute film, that did it awesomely.
4:46 did we watch the same movie I feel like the humans just appear for 20 minutes
Im willing to take that bet. Humans. Human Tribe. all of that is far more than 20 minutes - and constant cut aways to what the humans are doing during the Kaiju fights im so done with.
@@AngryJoeShow just like allot of the old godzilla films where they cut away from the fights to what the humans are doing
From the way you describe it, I'd be super interested in a video of just the monster parts, ALL humans and talking cut out. Probably less than 20 minutes that way, too!
That guy isn't Patrick, that's Jimmy DeSanto and you can't convince me otherwise.

Nah, I saw this movie. Saying Godzilla was untouchable is inaccurate. He demolished all the lesser monsters, but Kong was beating the piss out of him with that gauntlet for a minute.
But what happens seconds later? Godzilla turns around and tries blasting at Kong. Then, he tackles Kong and repeatedly stomps on his chest. Then starts to light up, but of course Mothra saves him. So if Mothra didn't step in to save kong's weak ass, Godzilla would have killed him. Seriously, Kong really gave his all into those punches, like he did on the battleship on GvK. But Godzilla just gets up and attacks.
If Kong wanted to kill Godzilla he'd be dead Kong had him Ko'ed, the only reason Godzilla got that sneak attack was because Kong was trying to drag him to the Hollow Earth.
@@sternritternovad Like I said, when Kong punched Godzilla, the only thing that helped him do so was the beast glove. When he went to punch godzilla on the battleship in GvK, it did nothing. But Godzilla just slapped kong and he went down. After Godzilla went down Kong repeatedly punched him. Giving his all into each punch. Even used the beast glove in those hits. Godzilla still got up
@briandecarlo1847 This is besides the point I was trying to make in the first place. Regardless of who you think "won" that fight, Kong is the only monster in the movie that gave Godzilla a run for his money.
@@tymelthompson4182 Ok, but Kong did have trouble with Godzilla, and with Shimo. But the last fight, it looked like Godzilla was taking on Skar King while Kong is holding up his beast glove to block shimo's freeze breath. Then helped out Kong by tackling Shimo.
Having Joe play with Godzilla while Alex talks is like having subway surfer under Joe Rogan
The guy that played Legion (x-men mutant) is in this movie.
Angry Joe and company were a little too harsh on this. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It was just dumb fun, and the human characters didn't feel distracting to me.
Apparently the winter godzilla is named Shimo
Weakest human cast still goes to KOTM. Insane take that this movie had the weakest
Yeah fr
This movie has the weakest. KOTM had Ken Wanatabe. None of them here were on his level. Dan stevens being the best of them.
@@AngryJoeShow I would agree had they done much with his character. His entire story was based on his sacrifice for Godzilla, which while an amazing scene, doesn’t rescue the rest of his involvement. This movie had a group of entertaining characters, while dumb, it never took itself too seriously. KOTM had such abysmal characters I couldn’t care less about any of them. At least they had SOMETHING interesting for ideas regarding Gia and the rest of the group. They all had motives that suited their character. KOTM seemed to have a group of just bland characters with useless drama, the only consistent and useful one being Ken Watanabe.
@@AngryJoeShowwho gives a shit! 💩 lmfao 🤣 Angry Joehshow bro 😎 lol 😂
@@AngryJoeShow no the weakest human cast is the Gareth edwards godzilla since every humans beside cranston were boring and have no personality no character development and no emotions
Considering the plot around Godzilla in this movie, and how Godzilla is being hyped up to be preparing for like an "ultimate battle", the final battle was just so underwhelming...
Godzilla was grinding levels so he can stomp the final boss
Godzilla had Steven Seagal do his contract for this movie...he's the ultimate badass, no one can touch him, he beats everyone barely lifting a finger. And while he has top billing, he only shows up on screen for about 10 min.
KOTM is still the overall best so far. The plot and motivations made sense even if they were bad. It answered all the questions it produced and the battles are good too.
This franchise is following the Fast & Furious model: Starts serious, has no way to keep going in the serious route as a franchise, gets more whacky & ridiculous into the “turn your brain off” territory.
I agree…though I think this movie wasn’t very good.
So it's echoing the evolution of the original Gojira movies. They're hitting the same problem that plagued the original series of movies. There's only so many ways to tell a serious kaiju movie without repeating yourself, so you either have to start shifting into the silly or stop making them at all followed by a reboot 10 years later.
So? Who cares this is awesome
Just got back from the theatre with my brother & Dad. It was fucking awesome! Turn off your brain from the trouble of the world and watch monsters fuck shit up
Was Godzilla and Kong better than transformers rise of the beast
Its about as good imo. And this is coming from someone who liked Rise Of The Beasts very much
no
Also its funny that the complaint is that humans are still added to the movie story. But at this point it is nessessary just to see how much the world has changed with each new event that happens. Monarch showing how cities have a Godzilla Drill and what truths we learn about them.
