    I have the EU2200i and when it is hot, place a Honeywell electric fan by the air vents in front of the machine. Keeps the inverter much cooler along with the shade as you are doing.

      @@TNTRVing Honeywell makes a small fan and I tend to baby my Honda's. The Honda's are rated at 2200 watts for 30 minutes then overload, It is very important not to exceed 2200 watts as this will distort the sine wave and overheat and maybe damage the inverter. .
      Great video.

    Very interesting test - we don't have a generator but were thinking about it originally. My husband went for some solar panels - but they can't really power too much - just top up our battery. Seems cool to have the app to control it too!

      Thanks for watching and commenting..for our 2 or 3 day dry camping trips We felt it would be easier to just run a good small generator, especially in the middle of summer when we have to run the air conditioning.

    On the Honda app if you go to settings press on Display Unit then press on VA then you press Home, it shows you how many watts you’re using.

    • @TNTRVing
      @TNTRVing  2 роки тому

      You are correct, the default setting was in watts in the app. I changed it to amps, figured it was easier to associate load usage.. The goal is not to exceed 15 amps when using the generator.
      The watts setting would be nice to see what the lower draw items are using…Thanks for watching and for the comment.

    This is a nice setup Tony. What’s your thoughts on just using a standard boat tank already set up for use with the primer ball. We are looking at the Honda 2200i. Mainly because I’m old with a bad back. LOL

    • @TNTRVing
      @TNTRVing  Місяць тому +1

      I'm not a fan of the plastic tanks because they swell in the heat when stored in the back of the pickup truck. Gas is safer to transport in the safety can. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Great video. Did I miss the fridge? I thought I read it was about 6-7 amps to run? Also wonder what the fan alone on rooftop unit runs or the furnace. Otherwise it is good to know that you can basically run one appliance at a time.

    • @TNTRVing
      @TNTRVing  2 роки тому

      The fridge was running when I started it was the 1.5 amp draw. I have watched our fridge kick up to 4-5 amps on occasion, might be defrost cycle. I noticed when using the progressive dynamics EMS..the 12 volt bath fan is very minimal. Great question with the furnace fan..although 12 volts it does ramp up pretty good. Might have to do another video when we are boondocking and using the generator

    What altitude have you used the geny? For every 1000 ft increase you lose about 3% power, we live in Colorado and camp at 7-9K ft level on regular basis and our older 2000i struggles to run our microwave, surging and microwave shuts off. 7 times 3% is 21% decrease in power so it is putting out only 10-11 amps - at 9K feet it is putting out around 9 amps. I have changed jets on carb and that helped but it still struggles at high loads and altitudes.

    • @TNTRVing
      @TNTRVing  Рік тому

      Thanks for the comment, so far we have been running it in altitudes of 1,200 ft. so we do not notice any reduction of performance. looking forward to heading out west to try it out! Thanks for watching.

    Nice! It would be great to see if you could run the TV, DVD/BluRay player, plug a couple of phones or tablets in for charging and still run the AC without over loading the Gen. I'm just thinking about what we all do in the evening times. Would the 3000 series allow you to run more stuff?

    • @f270
      @f270 2 роки тому +2

      It would run the stuff you mentioned easy. He was pulling 13 amps with the AC on and the max is 18 amps. A TV and DVD might be 1 more amp and phones and tablets will be insignificantly small

    Was the refrigerator on all this time you were testing, or was it off?

    • @TNTRVing

      Great question! Yes, the refrigerator was on while testing. It wasn’t pulling too many amps. 1.5 or so..in the video I show the beginning Amps prior to starting an appliance..

    Do you have a filter on the end of you gas line you put in the gas can? I know the generator has one. Are the gas cans metal or plastic? Thanks for the test.

    I just bought a "silent" one myself. Because i am concerned about what my neighbors might say about the noise. Although it is silent it is still very noisy. What do your "neighbors" say when you have that running for days.. ?

    • @TNTRVing
      @TNTRVing  5 місяців тому

      If you are running it, chances are any nearby campers are using one as well. We spent a week in a NJ Sporting clays club, most people there had them going. We haven’t had any issues with Harvest Host overnights either. Stay tuned, we have several trips coming up to where we will be using it and sharing experiences.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @TNTRVing
      @TNTRVing  4 місяці тому

      @@MichaelChrysochoos unfortunately it will not handle it, I had tried to run microwave and coffee maker. It trips out and you get an overload light. You have to shut off the generator and turn it back on to reset it.

      I considered larger but prefer what we have. Our generator weighs 47 lbs. compared to 102 lbs. thanks for watching!
