Join Alex for an electrifying journey into the world of electric vehicles (EVs). In today's episode, we're diving into a fascinating comparison between China's groundbreaking EV manufacturers, NIO and Avatar11, and America's Tesla, a global leader in electric automotive innovation.
Innovative Powerhouses: NIO, Avatar11, and Tesla
We start our exploration by taking a closer look at NIO and Avatar11, two of China's most ambitious EV players. Known for their cutting-edge technology and innovative designs, how do these brands measure up against Tesla's market-leading models? We'll examine their latest offerings, comparing technology, performance, eco-friendliness, and price points.
    The High Cost of Gas
A significant part of our discussion will focus on the financial implications of owning gas-powered cars in the USA. The average American spends a fortune on fuel over the lifetime of their vehicle. We'll break down these costs and compare them with the potential savings from switching to electric vehicles.
    Environmental Benefits and Cost Savings
The shift to EVs isn't just about saving money; it's about saving the planet. This episode highlights the positive environmental impact of electric vehicles and discusses the significant cost savings Americans could enjoy with broader access to electric cars like NIO, Avatar11, and Tesla.
Market Dynamics: Tariffs and Trade Restrictions
However, there's a complex challenge. Despite the evident advantages of Chinese EVs, the American market is currently limited to them due to tariffs and trade restrictions. This segment explores how these economic barriers impact consumer choice and the growth of the EV sector in the USA.
    A What-If Scenario
What if these market barriers didn't exist? We'll paint a picture of an alternate reality where American consumers have full access to Chinese EVs like NIO and Avatar11. How would this change the landscape of American streets, pocketbooks, and environmental impact?
Tune in for an insightful and forward-thinking discussion on the future of electric vehicles. Remember to like, share, and subscribe to Reporterfy Media for more engaging and informative content. Your thoughts are valuable to us, so please share them in the comments below!

The battery swapping is what we should be doing here in the USA but the car company's in the US wants to double dip by charging people 15k to 30k when the battery fails. Swapping battery's is the solution for battery failures and for the amount of time it takes to charge an EV. America put all its money behind a guy who smokes weed everyday Elon Musk who only cares about lining his pockets. We need battery swapping in the US and we need Chinese cars as well. How can we say we have a free country when our government bans good products only for the sake of corrupt US companys. Let them compete instead of ripping us off.

An absolute amazing and educational video! Wow! It is rare that I leave comments (even though I follow you), I felt compelled to comment here today. Let’s face facts. China is the most technologically advanced country on the planet. The Chinese government works for the people. In the USA, elected officials work for themselves, and their respective party. Congress has passed just 23 bills in the past two years! Corporate interests in the USA, combined with our political situation no doubt has put the brakes on the introduction of Chinese electric vehicles into the states. Profit before practicality! With that said, I question as to whether you will purchase an AVATR II or a NIO for Julija to get around Chongqing! Thank you Alex and the iChongqing for this excellent presentation!

Well done 👍. Engels, in his work "Critical Outline of National Economics," provides a profound analysis and argumentation on the philosophical significance of competition. He articulates the laws of competition as "demand and supply constantly striving to adapt to each other but never ceasing to do so." Competition, according to Engels, is not just an economic phenomenon but a law governing economic development. He views this law as a natural one and asserts that "it is a law that gives rise to revolution." However, this precise judgment is often overlooked in the capitalist economic sphere that pursues monopolies, forgetting that "competition" itself embodies revolutionary forces and developmental impetus. This simultaneously underscores that solely relying on economic sanctions and containment is unlikely to succeed.

Today they are more independent in terms of most of the advanced equipment and parts that were dependent on the West, And it allows them to advance much faster, it won't be far before we see the Chinese who will be so advanced that their competition will be among themselves within China and not against the West.

I travel to China often and love the electric car scene in China (Tesla Driver).
If they let the Chinese electric cars in America in quantity it will disrupt a already fragile economy.
I would love to purchase a Chinese quality EV in the states but the amount of layoffs and factory closings would be too much.
Not just the car manufactures but all of the supply chain companies that are left in the US.
With over 300 EV manufactures making cars in China I would pick my brand very carefully, Avatar looks like a small startup and Nio is struggling. I would go with a established brand such as BYD or Zeekr. Even though I own a Tesla in the US I would not purchase one in China, there are much better options available there.

I do have some safety concerns about lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries for high current applications such as EVs. This is regardless of the country of design, origin and manufacture. But if we want progress we have to progress as a whole. China's approach is far less haphazard than that of "Western" nations. Breakthroughs in new battery technology / chemistry will, in my opinion, will not emanate from The USA or any other Western country. I'd bet good money on China developing new and innovative solutions.

The US doesn't have the charging density of China so that limits NEV to some degree. Also, the US resists importation of Chinese NEV because it is, belatedly, trying to develop its own NEV sector. Like the use of QR codes for financial transactions, the US is falling behind in technology for the consumer sector. China is the future that the US needs to rise to for success in technology.

That's true. That's the biggest barrier in US for EV market to grow. The number of public charging stations in Beijing alone is more than total US combined. The government has to provide support to help EV market grow. China government provided subsidies earlier to EV manufacturers to help them grow. Starting from about 2 years ago, that subsidy was gone, instead, the subsidy has been given to support charging station manufacturers and installation. You can't expect private enterprises to do that. The government has to step in to support.

Nio saleswoman said battery swapping helps the electricity network because swap station can charge the batteries on off peak power. Also, if you have a problem with your battery, it can be swapped for a good one. If you have a charger at home and you are only doing local trips you can swap battery for one with less kWh so a destination charger at the supermarket will give you a full charge while you get your groceries. If you're going on a long trip you can pick up a higher kWh battery. Most important, your battery will never get old :) Good for Uber drivers! So, a combination of mostly new fast charging dispensers and a few swap stations could be a good idea, except it could make the cars more expensive.

China’s electric vehicles (EV) continue to accelerate ahead with its ability to make competitively priced vehicles as well as quality of its EV.
The price gap has widened, with the average retail price of an electric car available in China now less than half the price seen in both Europe and the US.
China cheapest electric vehicle costs 8% less than the cheapest ICE (internal combustion engine) equivalent.
Western’s electric vehicles models continue to cost more than their gasoline and diesel equivalents.
China’s EV are not only competing on price but also in terms of quality and power.
Intense price competition in China had forced Chinese EV makers to become more efficient to survive.
China provided tax breaks as most EV are exempted from sales tax.
China’s low labor costs helped too. The average European hourly wage rate is about 10 times the Chinese rate.
China becomes an increasingly influential manufacturer of EV by the relative affordability and the quality of its models in comparison to those produced by the West.
China shift its focus towards the research and development of new technologies and production processes designed specifically for a fully electrified future.

Tesla is NOT shocked at all. They have helped the Chinese immensely. When Tesla open sourced their technology years ago? The Chinese were the only ones who took them up on it. The rest of the OEM's just laughed at it. They still do. They are still trying to get to first base, while the Chinese started on third.
Tesla's mission statement has always been to accelerate the global transition to renewable energy. And Elon is not stupid enough to believe he can do it alone. Hell the Cybertruck is the first vehicle in history to use a super efficient 48V low voltage system instead of 12V. And he sent ALL the OEM's a copy of the specs in how to copy it. Jim Farley at Ford acknowledged it and said "Its a great day for the industry, Thanks Elon." Heck you can talk to some of the CEO's of China's EV manufacturers and they all speak very highly of Tesla and Elon and say he is a great friend.

Using an over-unity motor with the size of a shoebox would mean never having to change any batteries nor have the expensive batteries and just a regular car battery to start the over-unity motor enabling the car to go until the bearings wear out in any of the motors. The cost of the over-unity motor would be significantly less than the batteries and completely environmentally friendly. When will these motors become available?

There are 6 Tesla factories in the world. In 2022 & 2023 over 1/2 the Tesla's in the world were made in Shanghai with the gigafactory #'s for 2023 increased yr-on-yr by over 1/3 to 950K+ vehicles. Per YT channel 'The Electric Viking' 2023 highest selling pure EV vehicle brands worldwide (not hybrids) were Tesla (1.8M), BYD (1.6M), Volkswagen Group (657K Jan-Nov), SAIC (647K Jan-Nov), and Geely-Volvo (532K Jan-Nov). BYD did overtake Tesla in the 4th quarter, but I believe Tesla was retooling its Shanghai assembly plant for the revamped Tesla 3. Perhaps Tesla buyers were holding off until the revamped model is available for sale?

China has not only developed EVs but, they have improved them also. There are EVs in china that provide 500 to 600 plus miles in range. What a shame that the serious american traveler can't benefit from this. Infact it seems like americans settle for less in EVs. Iam a serious traveler. With my travels taking me over 6000 miles a year not including other mid range travels, A short range EV just wouldn't work for me. This is one of the reasons why I don't buy one. My jaguar XJl gives me a range of 570 miles which supersedes any EV. The United States always misses out on so much. Decades behind the far more advanced countries of the far east and Europe, they still don't have highspeed bullet train technology which is also, (fully electric)! A country that can put a man on the moon still has so much to improve apon. Once the EV is improved, I'll be the first one at the gates to buy one....

What a bunch of bs. Man from Avatr is talking about monthly cost of driving EV vs 2.0 liter gasoline car. He forgot to say how much time one will save monthly, with classic car comparing to those who must waste time while charging batteries on their EV How much will cost repairing and maintenance of EV compared to classic car?
And not to talk about how much one charge will last in cold climate? Less than half the time specified by manufacturer.
They are talking only about bells and whistles. No one is talking about pollution caused by digging and extracting lithium, cobalt and other materials needed for EV production. Nobody is talking about how we can produce so much electric energy for all those EVs etc.
Next, the mantra of this century is safety and privacy, but we are exposed with our personal informations like never before in entire history of human kind. Also, this stories about safety is so sick and making people so dumb like never before. "You don't have to think, this device will do this for you because it is for your safety"
How stupid one must be to believe that companies are giving something for free - free x-time charging, free parking, free... Nothing is free in this consumer world.
Man said - say goodbye to lost keys, because you are unlocking car with your phone. I know more people who lost their phone, than those who lost their keys. So? One must be really stupid to believe in those fairy tales.

There are several huge advantages in the use of hydrogen fuel cells instead of lithium batteries, chief among which are: (1) the time needed to recharge batteries, (2) the limited range, (3) lithium is a finite source, expensive to mine, (4) catches on fire too easily, and (5) is a polluting hazard Hydrogen fuel cells use hydrogen gas to pass through an electrochemical catalyst barrier that when mixed with oxygen ions, electricity is produced.
This electricity can then be used to power electric motors in an EV drive chain. The advantages of hydrogen in a fuel cell are (1)there's plenty of it all around us, (2) the only waste product is mostly water, (3) refilling with hydrogen takes only a few minutes, (4) a fuel cell will supply enough electric power for vehicles to go literally a thousand mile or more unlike batteries, (5) hydrogen has a lower flash point than gasoline/petrol and when encased in modern materials that can withstand shock, is a whole lot safer and (6) cheaper to produce than mining for lithium and drilling for a ever-dwindling supply of oil. In fact, the conversion of battery powered vehicles over to fuel cells is a whole lot easier since the same electric motors are still used.
China should move away from battery powered EVs and switch over to hydrogen fuel cells instead. It seems to be more a vehicle of the future than lithium batteries. What does everyone else think?

    • @joelchoy312
      @joelchoy312 3 місяці тому

Hydrogen is more safer than electricity ? Remember the German Hindenberg hydrogen airship fire ball in WWI ? Also I believe China CATL is developing a sodium base battery that is more safer, efficient and cheaper to make for the future. Lithium is on its way out too. China is pushing ahead with her EV batteries research to be ahead the world and to stay ahead.
