      @@citizenjournalist2533there was this doctor who promoted keto or something like that (a meat heavy diet...and she was really popular on Ted talk) ...and she too died of cancer.. what's your point?
      No diet can prevent cancer 100%..it can only reduce the risk...
      And less percentage of vegans or vegetarians die of all cause mortality than do people who eat a meat heavy diet...
      You should watch nutrition made simple..
      Vegan diet is not everything... But a plant centered diet is the way to go..
      I'm vegan for animals...but if it wasn't for animals I see myself following a Mediterranean diet with a bit of fish (would have to watch out on mercury and heavy metals.. )... And eggs.. no red meat for me..

      Well, it seems our esteemed "Dr" Neal "Barnyard", Founder and President of the Physicians Committee, didn't get the memo because there are numerous articles about diet and "cancer prevention", such as a *'Foods for Cancer Prevention'* factsheet on his animal rights organization's site.
      *Other Not so Fun Facts*
      The "healthy" looking Lisa Karlan featured at 2:24 had a massive haemorrhagic stroke in April 2021 at 66 years of age which she has not recovered from, despite being vegan and an active Physicians Committee Food for Life Instructor since 2012. Why do you suppose "Barnyard" still has her bio on the Physicians Committee site like she is still working for them?
      Ty Oppenlander, Dr Richard Oppenlander's only son, passed away in August 2020 at 37 years of age from an aggressive brain cancer. He was raised vegan "for the animals" from in utero. *No red meat for him either.*

    Today is 22 days a Vegan, Finding my feet - pretty soon I'll be able to see them. Never felt better, never hungry. I wish I would have discovered this 10 years ago. I'm 57 but only plan to keep this up for the next 40 years.

    • @mailill
      @mailill 3 роки тому +1

      I don't know if you are still a Vegan, but you might need to take up to 6-7 supplements if you are:
      www.healthline.com/nutrition/7-nutrients-you-cant-get-from-plants
      Also beware of the risk of getting too much fast carbs (depends of what you eat - you CAN eat Vegan without getting too many carbs, but often Vegan means too high carb), you don't want insuline resistance, so you should investigate the symptoms and danger signs and reduce sugars and not be too bread based.
      Also many people have bodies that can't very well make vitamin A from plants.

    • @boomsaveanimals7503
      @boomsaveanimals7503 3 роки тому +2

      @@mailill man ... You need not to have 6-7 supplement.. just one multivitamin that has vit b12 , d3 ( derived from lichens) and omega 3
      and k2..
      Multis come with other additional vitamins ..so yeah ..you won't get deficient in any

    • @mailill
      @mailill 3 роки тому

      @@boomsaveanimals7503 Multivitamins usually have too low doses, at least in my country.
      My experience is that some people do very well on plants-only diets, while many people at least need to include eggs and dairy and maybe even some sea food - but the real problem for many is that vegan diets often are very much high carb diets, and for many of us that' alone creates huge health issues over the years.

    • @boomsaveanimals7503
      @boomsaveanimals7503 3 роки тому +2

      @@mailill well.. that's not an issue in us.. but even if you were to eat multivitamins separetely ..it shouldn't be a problem..
      One supplement for vit b12, d3 and algea oil capsule or I dunno.. what's it called.. probably syrup.. you add that in your food like oats..or smoothie (I don't usually have smoothies cuz I get constipated if I don't get right amount of fibre...amd you can't reap all the benefits of fibre when blended)..and one for k2 ..I don't take k2 ..cuz we eat nattos.. and they're pretty rich source of k2..
      I'll link that k2 vid down.. but others should consider takin em.. so I take 3 supplements (I have to take vit b12 shots cuz my body doesn't produce IF (intrinsic factor) and one multi.. (to make sure I'm getting everything..) it was my personal dietician who suggested me that multi so that i don't have to take 3 of em..and it also had vit a and e and all.. doc ran some test and it was great... We're now with our grand parents and they grow their own food .. like lentils and beans and avocados in the backyard and balconi of her mansion..

    • @mailill
      @mailill 3 роки тому

      @@boomsaveanimals7503 Yes, natto will definitely give you the K2. And growing ones own food is great The fat/oils might be a problem, though. You don't get the right form of Omega 3, and seed oils just are not healthy. Though coconut oil, MCT oil and avocado oil and real olive oils are good, but still don't solve the omega 3 problem, cause the omega 3 from plants is diffrent, and not all bodies transforrm it well.
      Also, there is the problem of anti nutrients. Too much bread will deplete you of vitamin Bs, but can be helped with natural nutritional yeast. And some people's bodies handle anti nutrients better than others.
      I personally really hate (literally hate) industrial farming , and of course also the way animals are treated, and I would much prefer not be the source of suffering or death of any living being, but I tried vegetarian diet for 7 years, for a while mostly vegan, and it ruined my health.

    My meals in an average day:
    BREAKFAST= I usually exercise in the morning so I drink a bunch of water & may have a date with nut butter to satiate & sustain me until after working out.
    Afterwards I often have Oatmeal (but made with buckwheat too & infused with tea/dates), layered with fruit/nuts/sweet potato. Occasionally I have Overnight Oats, Cookie Dough(Dates blended with dry oats & some plant milk to hydrate the oats.) or 3 Ingredient Pancakes.
    In the Summer I have more Smoothies or Smoothie Bowls.
    LUNCH= Snacks usually. Larabars, Peas, Chickpeas, Lentils, Chocolate, Dried Fruit etc. Sometimes Salads/Fruit Salads.
    Often I mix leftovers from previous nights with some mustard/tamari/tomato sauce & spices.
    DINNER= Sometimes Dinner is just a huge lunch when I get back from work. More often it's whatever I have or am meal prepping. Dinner is usually an experiment.
    It could be soup, rice/quinoa dishes, sushi, buddha bowls, ramen, pasta, stirfry, curry, chili etc. It's not usually a cold dish.
    My only gripe is getting in my Greens & working out which foods digest best for me. :)

KD Lang is also from Alberta and I remember when she denounced meat for Veganism; you would have thought she'd murdered someone, Alberta/Canada Cattleman's Assoc. attacked her with both barrels! They tried to discredit her, belittled her and even tried to destroy her career. For this reason, Vegans have existed behind closed doors; up til now, we've come out! You were my secret mentor and you changed my life. Now; I can go to Vegan restaurants here, we have a Vegan Facebook group, the works! Thanks for being the light in my dark, and my inspiration. Oh; by the way, the Canadian Cattleman's Association is on the warpath again, because the UN and a couple British Universities have denounced meat, wait until you see them start fighting for their lives, and their livelihood...lol

Or, Vanilla protein powder blended with 1/2 frozen banana (add 1 tbsp of peanut butter optional), and ..(can occasionally add a teaspoon-tablespoon of pure maple syrup for extra sweetening). No cooking neccesary. Syrup and PB only on occasion, due to high sugar and high calorie.
