A couple skate techs I didn't see here are: Sparrow skating (e.g with semi rotation or atw) T-crash skate (eager, t-crash, swap to different subclass). Also, with warlock strand skate, it can be used to pass through small push back barriers. Similar to hunter bb, but more potent as you can carry more speed.
Sparrow skating is still normal skating, just using a sparrow as your ledge. T-Crash skate is pretty niche, probably could have included it tho! Strand skate was mentioned in text as the same inputs as well skate. Similar reason that ALL self-skating techs weren't shown for bubble skating, they are really just the same thing on different supers.
For controller/console players: for shatterskating, you don’t have to rebind “hold crouch button to shatterdive”. Simply hold crouch at the edge (I turned off toggle crouch), then press heavy attack then jump quickly. The shatterskate will work because you automatically shatterdive when you leave the edge. It’s a nice consistent simplification.
Or switch your shatter dive button to down on d-pad. Then click the trigger, a, and down d-pad all at the same time. Far more consistent and you don’t need to remove any actions. Won’t ever impede on gameplay.
I have mastered wellskate and have had so much fun with it and consistently hit my ground skates about 95% of the time and I’m on Xbox lol so it’s very much possible for you console players that think it’s impossible.
just recently learned to well skate... and it is so freakin fun. adds a whole new level of excitement to the game... and now I just find myself looking for fun places to skate off of or to haha love the videos!
Skating with the warlock strand super is actually useful because it lets you bypass push-back barriers. It's great for going out of bounds, especially when combined with sparrow flying.
@@marino3034 ua-cam.com/video/NjH18a88as8/v-deo.html This guy used it to reach galaxy pools solo. This specific example doesn't work anymore though because prospector and mountaintop got nerfed. They both have a cap on how fast you can be launched now.
missing strand skate on hunter. which you can do on any slope. Sometimes more useful then shatterskate since depending on the map theres can more slopes then there are ledges and it works while standing on a sparrow. its heavy attack then dive. the jump isn't needed. you can also grapple after the skate to go even further. You can also chain multiple strandskates together with lament is theres a long slope.
i’ve done both, you can shatter skate on edges, slopes, stairs, bumps in the ground and more compared to strand skating only on slopes. also stand skating is more precise and messing up consumes class abilities on failed attempts
Shatter skate can be done from everywhere using a nade, and finding ledges to do it from isn't hard. There's almost no place where you would use strand over shatter skate
For any newcomers who really don't want to go on stasis Hunter or solar Warlock, you can skate with strand Hunter (Ensnaring Slam), but the mechanics are a bit different (same outcome/velocity). You can also do a similar motion with strand Warlock. If you Weavewalk after an eager edge light attack, it maintains momentum and shoots you forward a bit. Just spam your air dodge and jump until you run out of melee energy. For point of reference, you can easily get from Rhulk to the previous encounter area with just this, it's just not as speedy as a typical skate.
Please pin this or add it to the description or something. I don't even want a shoutout or anything I just want to see the whole community flying around lol. I've been trying to spread the love with well skating and learned a suuuuuper simple way to do it. I'm just too lazy and ignorant to make any videos or posts about it.. All you have to do is hit heavy attack + jump at the same time and then super after. It gives you a ton of leeway on the timing on your super and I can hit my skates every single time with ease. THEN you can take it a step further and do attack + jump followed by super + jump. You can hit both inputs simultaneously on both parts and it will perfectly skate you and activate glide on takeoff. I've shown my whole discord and a good few LFGs how to do it and every single person gets it almost immediately. For some reason I have seen absolutely 0 people teaching it like I described, but it turns it into an easier tech than using the Overload shot on Le Monarch.

You honestly deserve 100x the amount of subscribers you have. Your videos are always super clear, straight to the point and just all around great. Once I saw those old 3 minute Raid Encounter videos I fell in love.
@10:45 when you skate with Shatterdive, it's indeed possible to make that jump and it works consistently with almost no issue. You need to swap weapons once you initiate the shatterdive. If you keep your sword on, you lose momentum slowly over time. Rather, if you swap immediately to your guns after initiating the dive, you maintain momentum and on the third jump you are basicall already over the final platform you need to land on. If not, equip again the sword and use the Eager edge again which will push you forward in mid air. EDIT 1: as many mentioned below, not sure if you were even fully pressing the jump key in the case too throughout the all skating process!
yeah that was a bad example. There are other spots where blink is 100% needed which was the point of the tech. The KF ships location would have been better, I just didn't have a checkpoint for that.
I think the only thing to add for well skating is you can do a rising well higher if you pop heat rises before launching. It’s not that much higher but it comes in handy every so often
binding jump to scroll wheel really made ground skates easy, keep in mind the timing is different between hunter and warlock (hunters should do it within 2 clicks of the scroll wheel, warlocks should do it within 4-6 clicks of the scroll wheel)
i was playing with macros and made a super easy hunter strand skate, you do it exactly like shatter skate but with a jump at the end but you needto be on a slope luckily theres staris and angles everywhere, most angles work, the limit i found was around a 75+ angle, its less conveniant but it gives kind of a down and up movement due to how the dive works so you can get more hight and done right you get well skate speeds
For the spire one time the jumps later and don't hold out the sword. You can switch to the sword as you're level with the bridge on the end and eager edge. I love using that skip.
Hi, if you’re looking for a macro, I’d recommend for most skates to have them be inputs of 20ms with 10ms delays in between them. That’s what help fix my macros. My program (wootamation) can program full key presses as well as just down press or release actions. I.e. heavy attack (20ms key press), 10ms delay, jump (20ms), 10ms delay, super. Also: frames matter when using macros. Turn off V-Sync and let your frames be as high as possible.
Thanks a lot for this update, I watched your ground skating video the other day and I was trying to get it down after studying the timings with a macro, and that's prolly going to require a lot of practice, since the timings are roughly 50ms of wait time after the first jump and after the swing... whilst you only need at most 170ms for wellskating without using ammo
Just to say, if you crouch before the super on bubble skating it helps a lot. The order would go Swap, Crouch, Heavy, Super. not sure of this will go the same on PC but on console it feels like you have extra frames to use the super.

are you using the default key bindings? I have some custom key bindings that make this really hard. I'm going to switch back to default and try again.
“it just works” Todd “gmeiners” Howard
Finally learned my first skating tech thanks to you! Sad titans get left out but thank you man!
you used to be able to fists of havoc skate before bungie said no
@@Tp_OverHeat I swear the bungee devs hate titans. They’ll never a get blink jump or their air dash back.
Best detail explanation that I found, thanks bro! XD
Challenge request... Cross the chasm in the Morgeth encounter and reach the secret chest in the Last Wish raid as a hunter.
Does "Shadowskating" work? IE... use shadowcrash instead of shattercrash on hunter.
I'm on M&K and I can well skate with almost 100% consistency, but I can only shatter skate with like 10% consistency. Is there anything particular that I might be screwing up or any tips to maybe help my shatter skate consistency?
Not sure if it's been mentioned here already, but changing the air dive input from "hold" to "press" in the button layout settings helps significantly with shatterskating.
Time to learn. Thanks for this breakdown
i mostly use shatter and well skate. but i have used ground shatter skate a couple times before. its a bit finicky and not reliable
For Hunter you want storage jump. Not triple.
You can skip the spire puzzle without blinking if you skate off the ledge above where you were
yea thats what i do
Its faster to do the blink one by a few seconds
For pvp/pve warlocks on solar theres one skate called 'Snap Skate'
To do this, you will need the Snap Incinerator melee equipped
Next, after sprinting=
1. Slide
2. Jump
3. Press your super button (Note: Only works if you do not have super charged)
4. Jump again to glide
5 is optional but after you glide you can icarus dash for that insane speed
How is even snap melee relevant then? I honestly can't even tell if you're trolling or just incoherent
