Thank you!! Good curtains are always such a game changer! Maybe for the next video you could talk about using Light Groups and the compositor? Would Love to see if you have any tips for making the best use of it!
great video and thank you ! I wanted to ask about the very end of the video ---- when I press play on this final last step the animation It get's messed up --- the curtain expands back into a plane and doesn't hold its shape after shrinking the cube --- I've applied all the transformations on the frame I like in an attempt to save the shape of the curtain but once I press play it doesnt hold shape and shape goes nuts. What do I need to do at the end of the video to set the model and then animate it with other wind properties.
Unfortunately, I still don't understand how the curtain stays folded during the animation. I do the simulation and bake it, but it still stays straight. I can't see you baking it in the video.
Great tutorial as always! I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get a decent translucent curtain material that looks good, and doesnt take forever to render, any tips on that? It would be nice a part two of this video talking about it.
Will glad you like it. It would be around mixing a translucent node with any texture. Or using the Principle BSDF Subsurface value on 1 and a low Radius that also works. However I think the Principle BSDF can take a bit of time more. My recommendation is to use the Kit Library for the time being it has a good number of materials including the one you need and they are normally light in render. You can get the Kit Library here and it's Free www.blenderkit.com/
Oh my gosh this is AMAZING! Thank you so much!
Appreciate it mate! Thanks.
