Space fish literally too aggressive and destructive, had to downscale their intelligence and stick them in space aquariums, let's hope this doesn't backfire.
Fun fact: The degree to which the Great Horde splinters is based on how many habitable plants are under its control. I forget the exact numbers, but if the horde controls about 3 or less, it reverts to space barbarism; about 7 or less is a single successor state; and any more than that and it fractures into multiple successors.
Also a little tip, Lath - when you have artllery batleships which are stationed in one system - chokepoint, there is no need for advanced thrusters - if you use basic ones, your ships dont fly so fast towards the enemy and so they are able to shoot from safe distance for longer time.
@@Helmet_Von_Moldy To move around you can jump or/and gateway. I found this method some time ago and it works great. Not only basic thrusters allows you to fit more good modules like advanced shields, but, as it was mentioned, ships keep distance way better. And it's huge!
"This was very zen" made me think of Mr House and his snowglobe fixation, a Citizen Kane reference, back in ol' Fallout New Vegas. A little world, contained under glass, and all that. But yeah, habitats STRONK. My favorite special chokepoint fortress blocker these days, much less the special resource boons.
void dwellers could make some seriously potent federations on their own, by expanding and making smaller vassal empires of your species and immediately bringing them into the fold. edit, in my earlier attempt at this, you might need to funnel some alloys their way because computers dont handle early habitats that well.
Lol I'm kinda doing this ATM with my Necroid Authoritarian Spiritualists... went Liberation wars w/ the pop abducting ascension Basically I steal everything until they have like 5-10 pops then swap their ideologies and eventually force them to join my fed. When they grow back pops to about 50-100 I kick them out and then repeat... kinda like having a galaxy full of free-range livestock that runs their own farms lol And its going pretty well lol... half the galaxy is either mine or being run by my pops-to-be (2270)
Lath I just wanted to say thank you, for everything, I’ve had some pretty dark times in my life but when they happened I found your channel and it saved me at the time I can’t thank you enough for putting out such good content on a consistent basis while also interacting with your audience so much seriously man thank you for everything if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be with my SO right now
I love void dwelers. Expansion is a great tradition tree for them, considering it reduces habitats by 20% cost in both influence and alloys. It also gives you 10% pop growth and extra pop for each habitat upon completion. Adaptability is another great one, for it has the finishing tradition benefit of surveying extra districts for habitats decision you were looking for. It also adds a building slot to each habitat and reduces food upkeep by 10%, which is huge. Overall, great playthrough.
Lathland, just wanted to say thank you for being you. You helped me a lot during covid quarantine. I hope life is going well for you and wish you only the best.
It would be interesting to become a caravaneer- Pompous purest merchant void dwellers who only just nyeract with an empire while you are in or next to their territory :p
There are 3 mods I view as must-try; Expanded Gestalts: Forgotten Queens, which focuses on non machine gestalt empires. Adding things like new origins, civics and mechanics unique to such empires. Please note you will need a submod by another author for it to work properly with aquatics as the original author seems to be busy and haven't updated it yet. Machine & Robot Expansion, This is basically the same thing for machine intelligence empires. Underground Realms, THE mod for Criminal Heritage, with a unique origin, expanded crime effects, and even its own "You become the crisis" series of events if you go down the psionic ascension. (becomes easier to trigger if you use said unique origin) Works really well with certain perks and origins from two mods listed in the highly recommended area. Aside from that, I also HIGHLY recommend trying: Nanite Machines & Distant Stars Overhaul; A smaller mod that lets you play as a Nanite Machine Empire, works really well with Machine and Robot Expansion. Unique Ascension Perks; This one is fascinating and can alter your play style completely depending on which perks you pick up, I STRONGLY recommend adding a mod or two to increase the number of ascension perks available because there is no way you'd be able to see more than a fraction with the default amount. Plentiful Traditions 3.x and it's submod Plentiful Traditions 3.x - Extra Perks; These 2 mods go pretty much hand in hand with the one above as it gives you a lot more traditions to play with. Merger of rules; A compatibility mod that will help fix incompatibilities with a VERY extensive list of mods, can help with several crashes and/or bugs as a result.
Going to add onto this, try out Zenith of Fallen Empires and its sub mods. These will allow you to become an awakened empire, recover their technology, make their ships, and go beyond. It also changes how ai fallen empires work as well. It's late game stuff (requires 7 previous ascension perks) so I'd recommend to use it in a modpack.
unique ascension and plentiful traditions are awesome, really gives you reasons to pump that unity instead of just having to activete the editc once and forgetting about it for the rest of the game
Modded campaign idea: Habitat only on steroids. Void dweller origin, gigastructures mod, you mine away every single planet with the gigastructures. Eng goal is to mine away the entire (or at least most) galaxy
He just plays the game and comments about the game. He doesn't talk about politics or current events. Just the game. Which is why he maintains a happy audience. Other creators could learn a thing or two from Lathrix.
Lathrix Floating Trade Guild Lore: We will not step on planets because we are afraid we might destroy them Lathrix Floating Trade Guild Gameplay: Damn I should have gotten the planet cracker so we don't have to step on the planet and accidentally destroy them...wait
Love the full playthroughs recently! Been studying hard for exams and these are such a great accompaniment to put on in the background. Keep up the fantastic work!
Lathrix: these people were put on the habitat because they might be destroyed their world. They took it to heart and decided to never land on planets ever again. Lathrix at endgame: I should've gotten collosus and use the world cracker because I don't want the worlds *You have become the very thing you swore to destroy lath*
Algorithm poison be damned, this stuff is what keeps me on target for the most of my playthroughs of Stellaris, even if I get drunk like I did after this recent D&D session and writing this comment. Anyway, good job Lathrix! Keep doing what you do best!
I did something like that with Giga-Engineering as rouge servitor. Revived the planets in Terminal Egress to turn into maginot worlds and made a bunch of ecumenopoli, planetary computers, and machine worlds in the rest of the systems. Even on the 25x crisis setting, Egress was impenetrable by the Aeternum (the endgame crisis added by Giga). They were eventually killed off by the Blokkat, and then I killed off the Blokkat once the galaxy was dead and I had completed my galactic zoo.
I'd love to see a Stellaris related tier list. There's a lot of things that are cut out of these videos understandably, so hearing some thoughts about the game from you that isn't about gameplay would be awesome.
I really enjoy these chill tall gameplays since the majority seem to like to play chaotic and wide so these are always a nice little gem when I run across them.
16:40 you're thinking of the finisher effect of the Adaptability tradition tree for Void Dwellers. It's VERY good. The housing reduction and the building slot are decent but really all you want from that entire tree is the finisher effect and it's totally worth it!
I would recommend trying Stellaris Evolved. It's base game + essentially and is a requirement for me now. It adds a bunch of new ascension paths and new ways to play the game. It's currently only in alpha and so far it's one of the best mods for stellaris. It also stays very in tune to vanilla, so theres no odd out of place assets and ideas that can be kinda disorientating in some other mods.
Hey Lathrix, these Stellaris full playthroughs are my favorite Stellaris content and they bring me back to the game every time I see one uploaded, and I leave a like on every one I watch, so please keep doing them for as long as you're having fun playing them! Thanks for the countless hours of entertainment :)

love your vids lathland keep it up! i also have a playthrough suggestion i want you to and beat the gigastructures endgame enemy without using planets or system crafts meaning you need to invest heavily into tech
Oh boy. You mean the Aeternum or the Blokkats? I can see the Aeternum maybe being possible (they start with around 20M fleet power and I think I have reached around 800k Fleets in 2400, where I chose to fight them (with an 2325 Endgame Start Year)). I won a Battle with the full fleet at once outside their main system and without big losses (Just ~400 Fleet Cap worth of Battleships and smaller I guess), but that's because i had about 5 Planetcrafts soaking up most of the damage. Are Asteroid Artilleries and Maginot Worlds allowed? Those might make defending against them a lot easier, especially if they choose to split up.
Oi, Algorithm, go home, you're drunk. @Lathland : Your play-throughs are helping me at work EVERYDAY, throughout the winter months (kinda like a podcast, instead of radio) and not only do I ENJOY it a lot, I am also more focused AND learn a ton about Stellaris and how to use certain civics/origins. I believe its the "Guilli's Planet Modifiers and Features" which is adding this Origin that I been trying out lately. - Deathworlders. Getting rid of those blockers will take a bit because half of them require the research to do so. Add in the fact that the Features of the planet could cause even more problems. It feels !!FUN!! to play with and deal with the issues it causes...

Also even if it isn't exactly stellaris content I would watch any of your video playthroughs honestly, so for me feel free to expand your horizons with other games.
Oh boy i cant wait to finish this great video that I just got blessed with. Also for the modded playthrough, man i just cant wait for what mod we are gonna see .

The classic combo of gigastructures and Ancient cache of technology would be great. They both offer an extremely well extension to the core mechanics and seem to let you play the way that feels right, this play through with interstellar ring worlds would have been super cool

Well, that was fun to watch. Since you mentioned adding mods in your next playthrough, I would like to recommend NSC2. Not only do you get new ship classes, and better starbases (20 slots max with alot more options) but you can also do something similar to this while pretending to be a Marauder Empire thanks to the Origin the devs added in last year.

The classic combo of gigastructures and Ancient cache of technology would be great. They both offer an extremely well extension to the core mechanics and seem to let you play the way that feels right, this play through with interstellar ring worlds would have been super cool
Love these kinds of videos, Lath! Thank you!
As always it is lovely to see a full playthtough from you! If you wanna expand your horizons and play other games as you did with Inscryption I am all for it.
Would love to see full playthroughs of other games. Loved the video as always
I’m going to watch this a lot. Like I have watched each Stellaris episode at least twice and at most five times.
An offering to the mighty algorithm... Bestow this creator a place of honor in The Great Sorting
For the algorithm!
Looking forward to more modded playthroughs, by the way. I've picked up several really awesome mods after watching you play them!
All Hail Algorithm!
I really should try a playthrough like this
Man I just love the stellaris vids , best vids to study with !
Lath's right, this is a very chill full play through.

The story you came up with for your empire was pretty great.
Stellaris is a series I'd like to see continued in the future!
I think a lot of games would benefit from your 'Full Playthrough' format. Things like Europa Universalis IV and maybe even games like Stone Hearth. Looking forward to the upcoming changes!
Oh hey, a new video
these are honestly my favourite form of video and I'm sad youtubes algorithm doesn't promote these all that well
Well, that was fun to watch.
First thought was "Xenophile World Cracker?", but then realised that if he did, he would be fulfilling his species prophecy of destroying any non habitat world they touch. :D
Now this is community engagement in a loved series
Currently in my first Aquatics playthrough. I instantly gravitated to this species portrait as well.
Commenting for the algorithm. Love the playthrough. MORE STELARIS !!
