@@shryoder First, that's an eagle not a falcon, second, the eagle is still the symbol of Germany, the "Bundesadler". To call the generic falcon or eagle a smybol of fascism is extremely ignorant.
That is exactly how I played this myself. I even named the planets after 40k locations. And true to name, Cadia was the fortress world that kept getting ganked yet never falling. Despite all the other dlcs and mods, that was my most fun playthrough ever.
Is it though? We already have the warp(shroud), warp storms(hyperspace storms), tyranids, exterminatus, birth of slanesh(end of the cicle) and now even necrons. They're just avoiding copyright at this point.
Playing my custom German Empire, and this is unbelievably true. A 60-swarm Blitzjäger fleet (that’s what I name my corvs) has been EVISCERATING numerically superior foes and defending my borders like the damn RAF (ironic) with the power of anger and numbers
I absolutely love these sorts of videos, I get quite bored with a lot of the in between of stellaris, compacting it like this makes it a joy to watch, thank you.
I like a combination. Having only highly condensed campaigns would result in content being consumed incredibly quickly...but highly entertaining while they lasted. Also, though, I sometimes like to get to see the full process.
56:32 it is perfectly accurate to say that a wormhole is located here *and* there as it is a phenomenon that connects two spaces _by making a hole which results in both spaces being in the same place._ So yeah, completely accurate.
"June 28th, 2399. I had hoped that maybe Great Khan Musseg had died on his flagship and thusly we would have an easier time but there's no signs of the Genoggians trying to kill each other and they're still fairly organized. In addition Musseg's body wasn't found and so we've had to come to the conclusion that he escaped. I had hoped this assignment might have helped me become the next Grand Marshall but with all the set backs I'm not sure. Still, I hope that Project Qiyamah will work out. Besides, Musseg fleeing from battle must have diminished his reputation. These warrior types are usually ill disciplined and rely on the faith they place in their warlords as well as the individual warlord's charisma so here's to hoping that their faith in their glorious leader declined." Excerpt from the journal of Admiral Dolores Rosario, June 28th, 2399. January 4th, 2399. I don't know why we had to pass that law giving robots equal rights to humans but I hope Grand Marshall Morthi is happy, because my approval has nosedived. As greedy and arrogant as it sounds I'm not sure if I'll be re-elected and frankly I'm not sure how good my chances are at getting that position at Buteo & Cathartes Industries now as I'm not sure I'll be able to get a war hero elected let alone get them that contract with how despised I am. A pity, I was really hoping people would like my book. From what I've heard I may not have long a tenure anyway. Vice Admiral Blerim Mjet is apparently about to retire from his position as Minister of the Navy in order to spoil his grandkids, or at least that's the reason being given for his sudden interest in retirement. Knowing Grand Marshall Morthi he's going to refuse to approve another Minister of the Navy until I resign therefore allowing him to 'support' a new candidate for Prime Minister. I knew that Prime Minister's don't tend to have long tenures but this is ridiculous. At this point I'm not sure if I'd be elected to an Education Board, never mind a national position. I'm going to see if I can't guilt trip Morthi into at least giving me a small bonus to my retirement pension but I'm not sure if he'll agree." Excerpt from the journal of Prime Minister Gachanja Kĩmani, January 4th, 2399. "January 10th, 2406. The modifications to the destroyers seems to be working perfectly. There's already scientists chomping at the bit to research the wrecks of the enemy's ships, and I've heard rumors that numerous contractors are scrambling over each other to be given the privilege to aid in the research. I'm hoping that we can take that gaia world the xenos have as their capital but I hear that Grand Marshall Morthi just wants to weaken the enemy so they can't pose a threat to us. For the time being anyway. Project Qiyamah is making serious headway now, and with it I'm hoping we might finally have the means to ensure humanity's divine right to the galaxy and the universe. Just not sure how the Army will feel about the project." Excerpt from the journal of Admiral Fanny Leclerc, January 10th, 2406. "March 17th, 2406. We're firing the weapon now and aside from a subtle rumbling it's not making much noise. I'm not sure how long this is going to take, but the captain says that at best it's going to take a week. I'm not sure how I feel about this thing. The galaxy is humanity's but somehow it doesn't feel right using this weapon. Although I guess it's better to use this weapon and not have to use any soldiers on the ground, risking casualties and damaging the planet's infrastructure. As silly as it sounds I'm praying for those xenos. I'm praying that their deaths are quick and painless." Excerpt from the journal of Seaman Gorana Ferenčak, March 17th, 2406. "April 8th, 2426. I knew the army was going to be upset about their budget being cut in the wake of being relegated to being a garrison force thanks to the Harbinger but I didn't think General Konfoffa would attempt to launch a coup and destroy the Harbinger. Thankfully the Grand Marshall was only grazed and a battalion of Junzi were able to help put down Konfoffa's troops, and the team sent to destroy the Harbinger were put down but still I'm worried that the civilian populace is now going to get even more antsy. Still a few posters here and there should do the trick." Excerpt from the journal of Brigadier Hanzo Kenpei, April 8th, 2426.
@@rhyscallinan4402 If it means that much for ya sure. "April 27th, 2453. We're heading off to areas held by some xenos. Can't remember their names. I thought we were gonna be launching an invasion but I didn't notice any groundhogs. For a while I figured that maybe the Harbinger was coming with but then there came the speech. Macky was upset with the idea of not getting another chance to expand the Commonwealth's borders. An's more worried now, not sure what these 'unbidden' creatures weapons can do to the ships. Me? To be honest. I'm scared. Send a fleet to help xenos as a previously unknown threat devours them? That sounds like the wet dream for any Grand Marshal. What is it about these creatures that's made high command think we need to go to save xeno worlds? And what in Unity's name is my malāk gonna do to their ships?" Excerpt from the journal of Lieutenant Lidka Kolchak, April 27th, 2453. (Sorry if it's shit, it's late for me and no sleep).
These videos must be an absolute nightmare to edit down to 2 hours. That said you've done an awesome job. I've been binging on your Stellaris playlist during the weekend, and I must say: your skill and your editing style have come a long way. Truly, a pleasure to watch. Thank you.

Sehueturn III's colonization is going along surprisingly quickly despite the weather and the less than affable wild life. The plants we sent back apparently rotted last week, which I suppose makes since, anything's life span is going to be short in such an environment, but it is a miracle how the plants can regrow so quickly after a lightning-infused tornado went through the area. Dr. Akumu thinks he can design a durable enough lightning rod that can not only survive the tornadoes but also use the massive lightning storms to power the planet. Captain McThyr has been a great help to our efforts, it's so rare to find a member of the navy, the combat navy anyway, who would not only agree to help us but do so without any demands of benefits or favors later on. I'm certain Sehueturn III will be an invaluable asset to the Commonwealth." Excerpt from the journal of Dr. Samuel Siqueira, 2287/03/01. "2292/01/22. From all the rumors I heard I thought the raiders would have provided some challenge but if anything it was rather one-sided. One of the xenos bodies hit the command bridge's main view screen and smeared it's blood over it as it flew by. I'm not sure why those things have purple blood but they do. We're all apparently getting a special medal and a cuff title for our service here, but frankly it was less combat and more chore." Excerpt from Boatswain Elías Ferrant, 2292/01/22. "2297/02/25. For the first time in years I was finally able to get out of bed on my own. My back still hurts but it's not a struggle just to walk around. Still, not sure what I'm going to do know, I had made my peace, readied my will, and was ready to die. I'm not saying that I want to die it's just strange. For years I was preparing myself, telling myself 'you're going to die Richard, you need to make sure John, Sam, Anne, Harold and all their kids get something from you when you're gone' just to be given that miracle elixir and find out I have more time. I'm not complaining, I'm glad, I get to spend more time with my kids and grand kids. Just wish Ulysses would eat his greens more, that boy won't be able to join the army like he says he does if he don't." Excerpt from the journal of Richard Bougan, 2297/02/25. "2312/06/02. We're starting to make a little bit of headway but not much. The strange architecture of these aliens keeps giving me headaches, I don't know how they can stand to look at it. It's hard to explain, but if there's a slope and it looks like it goes at 45 degrees it turns out it's a 80 degree angle. Everything is just wrong. Some of the others have started destroying those gargoyles they have everywhere. Freaky sons of bitches have them in their damned rooms in such a way that they stare at them as they sleep. Fucking squid things. Still, at least we have the factory. I don't know whether a lot of the fuckers we've been seeing are refugees trying to avoid the bombardment of the residential district by the fleet, some weird militia or paramilitary group, or the monsters actual army. Still, at least with some of these industries the Kavachas repaired, I was getting worried that the Kavachas generators or the suspension being damaged." Excerpt from the journal of of Private Ayaan Mehrotra, 2312/06/02. "2328/12/29. So far the test seems to be working. Private Hans Prüfung seems to be less wasteful, more diligent and more gregarious than before the test. I've asked Grand Marshall Jian Xu for some more time for testing but he said I have a week at most. Still I must commend Private Prüfung for his courage and selflessness in agreeing to volunteer for testing the genetic modifications, and I've personally asked that he be given a medal for his aid in such a crucial advancement in human science. HCBAP is so far a success but we've had a harder time with SCBAP, as we frankly don't have as good an understanding of their biology as we do for human biology and brain chemistry. Still, we should be able to secure another grant and therefore not only redouble our efforts on SCBAP but also help the students. I've been dying to secure more resources for the students so they can learn more for days now." Excerpt from the journal of Professor Pataki Gábor, Gordian University on Unity, 2328/12/29. "2348/07/28. The enemy tried to launch a counterattack, but we were able to encircle and wipe them out. My Kavacha got pretty badly damaged, with half of my helmet being blasted off. I'm still fine, a few bruises but still my helmet's explosive reactive armor plating was able to divert the blast away far enough so I was only cut and bruised. Poor Yazid wasn't so lucky, got disemboweled by concentrated enemy heavy machine gun fire. Poor guy kept going on how he couldn't wait to marry his girl back home, and I was actually starting to like him as well. I hope this war ends soon, I've lost too many brothers and sisters already." Excerpt from the journal of Sergeant. Dragan Ivković, 2348/07/28 "2355/06/13. For a bunch of butterflies these things are badass. B Company were pursuing a retreating force when they were encircled by a larger force of them. We were sent in to try and help but we were pinned down by suppressing fire. Marc, Robert, and Dolzhikov were shot to hell, poor Damiano was disemboweled by the enemy fire, and Hugo got his arm blasted off. Chie was eventually able to flank the enemy raining hell on us and took them out, thankfully. We thought that maybe it was an entire enemy company, platoon, or at least a squad up there. Turns out it was just one of them. We were able to get to B Company, or what was left of B Company. Still, Vurl-Raxl should soon be in our hands. I've commended Chie for a medal and a promotion, which Captain MacCormack and Colonel Juul seems to agree with, and in general it's been agreed that we're going to have to be more careful in our advance. The enemy is getting desperate so we'll just need to be more careful as a cornered beast is even more violent." Excerpt from the journal of Lieutenant Zhan Jing, 2355/06/13. "Dear Mom, I hope this message finds you well. The Avatar is an amazing ship, and my fellow crew are all amazing people. The captain is a bit eccentric, but he's kind to us. He's kind of like uncle René, but with a beard, and a uniform, and instead of having a dog he has a cat. Still, I just wish the bunks weren't so cramped. That's one thing the recruiters never told me, that the bunks would be so cramped. At times I have to curl into a ball just to fit in, and it's kind of hard to sleep in the capsule bunk on account of my tendency to move around as I sleep. But still I love the Avatar, almost as much as I love you and dad. I can't wait to see you all again. Oh, and please tell Thibault I'm sorry for missing his valedictorian award." Audio message from Seaman Yvonne Carbonneau to Arlette Carbonneau, 2367/12/15. "Admiral's log, 2370/12/18. The energy being, or 'Stellarite Devourer' as some of the men have called it is finally dead. Casualty reports are still streaming in, we lost at least two corvettes and we're searching for survivors but so far it's not looking so good. As for the 'Stellarite Devourer,' the only thing that's left is it's digestive system and some of the stellar matter within it. The Grand Marshall wants us to haul it's remains back to Paridayda to build a monument to the men and women who fought the monster, especially the ones who lost their lives, and to humanity's inevitable domination over the most powerful of forces. I've been told that I'm going to receive a few medals for this action, and the Grand Marshall has commissioned a special cuff title as well for sailors and all other personnel involved in the battle with the monster. Still, I wonder how that thing came to be and if there's others like it out there somewhere in the galaxy, or barring that the universe." Admiral's log of Admiral Fanny Leclerk, 2370/12/18. I'm sorry if you responded by the time I uploaded this but I really want to move on to other things. I'm sorry). "Civilians massacred by the UNE! The United Nations of Earth ship, the UNS Mukden fired upon the Commonwealth colonist ship the Gleiwitz who were en route to colonize Roolan II when the Mukden destroyed the ship. None survived, and amongst the millions of dead was the adopted daughter of Admiral Wu Luo. Prime Minister Bunraku has called for cool heads, demanding the UNE hand over the crew of the UNS Mukden for court martial to be tried for war crimes." Headlines from the Unity Herald, 2371/12/27. "WAR!!! The UNE has declined the Prime Minister's demand for the crew of the UNE Mukden to face a court martial for war crimes, and as such the Parliament has declared war on the UNE. Prime Minister Bunraku expressed in a press statement that while he regretted having to declare war on the UNE he had no choice. Grand Marshall Amav Moorthi has expressed his insistence that the war against the UNE is a war for justice as he pointed to the account of the survivors of the Lubbe death camp who managed to escape by hiding away on the Commonwealth merchant ship the Nise, the Grand Marshall said the UNE was an illegitimate and tyrannical government whose hypocrisy allowed rapists and murderers to roam it's streets whilst those who have an opposing opinion to it's 'politically correct' policies are imprisoned." Headlines from the Unity Herald, 2372/01/25.
I remember playing a empire where i was incredibly strong. A militaristic power imperial rule. Being inside my territory during war was suicide to enemies as just a few of my ships gained heavy bonus's. I actually had a small fleet but it was the fire power and armor that counted. So overwhelming fleets would fall within my borders. Then id push in and take a few systems before they built back up.
Started a new game: * Highest difficulty * 1000/1000 stars * 30/30 AI all with advanced fully random starts (So started 46/46 in ranks) * 5/5 FE * No guarantees for habitable planets * 5x science and unity costs too I'm playing with a pacifist, egalitarian and xenophobic megacorp (not criminals). It's physically painful, but so awesome and fun at the same time. Naturally, it's modded with stuff to add variety to gameplay: * More Events Mod * Dynamic Political Events * Potent Rebellions * Plentiful Traditions * Ruler Level System * Here, There Be Dragons * Dynamic Galaxy - Anomalies Respawner & New Anomalies * More AI Personalities * Propaganda and Espionage * Empire University * Masters of Nature * Glavius's Ultimate AI for 2.2.7 * Gigastructural Engineering & More and a bunch more graphical and UI mods, which all in all keep & enhance vanilla feel of the game. My neighbors are a xenophobic FE, Enigmatic Fortress, a wormhole no one in the galaxy knows how to use yet and one other normal empire. I'm pretty well isolated for now really, even though apparently dragons took a liking to two systems in my space so they pay a visit or three every 50 years and wipe that area. Despite all that, 300 years in the game and I've barely finished securing my footing with 9 colonies and am almost able to complete a single starting level tech (yeah, still there) in around 60 months, even with 600 of each research going for me, thanks to empire sprawl further doubling the costs. I just really needed resources thanks to everyone being by default filthy rich, more technologically advanced and super kitted out with fleets. All except for me of course. Political intrigues and power plays have kept my megacorp afloat so far, but there is a good 1/3 of the galaxy taken over by an evil swarm and they are closing in... hope it goes well! ^.^
@@notaprinny A new update dropped and outdated a bunch of my mods. So, I deleted the save and am currently staying away from Stellaris for a loong while. I'm kinda scared of drowning out of control into this game again. But definitely going to give a new try sometime soon. It's just that Baldur's Gate 3 is coming up and I really want to dive into DnD. Overall, that campaign was freaking awesome while it lasted. Too bad it started slowing down and new update destabilized the whole thing. :D
Lath if the unbidden spawn, let them fight (not Godzilla reference). If the unbidden portal is not closed and if the unbidden take like twenty percent of the galaxy them guess what, there “Friends” arrive to fight you and the unbidden. But if you thought that was a crisis with one inter dimensional invader then 2 of them (the new one more powerful) then there’s Not 1 not 2 not 4 not 5 but 3 of them (in total, did I get you?)and there Even more powerful then both of them combined! There so powerful that they say (to the unbidden and other unbidden) “So this is where you have come to hide, it shal not save you!” Or someting like that. And I thought the galactic power SUORGE was an indication that the STRONGEST CRISIS was coming but it was the unbidden and not the Scerge. Spoilers! The Scerge is the STONGEST crisis in the game! And they laugh at you, not because you think you can beat them, because their not the “END” game crisis ther just the survivors. And if your sphyonic you can understand what they are saying. They say someting about The “Hunters” Wich the scourge fears so much it sacrifices everything to get away, they (the Scourge) are the strongest crisis in the game, and there a fraction of a fraction of what they once were and they where Destroyed like smashing partials in a particular accelerator by the Hunters. They are (Scourge) also Biological unlike the Unbidden or the Contingency.
I totally thought you would've gotten the contingency, seeing your sectors were building robots and you were using sentient ship computers. XD I'm pleasantly surprised. ^^
i fully understand your detest for advanced ai starts. I stopped using it after my like 8th attempt at this game when it came out because i ALWAYS had an advanced ai opposing faction type to what i was doing next to me. Not a single time were they at least neutral so they didnt immediately declare war on me.
The rivalry bug is really annoying and I think is also responsible for other bugs (invincible fleet). The game doesn't run calcs properly for some reason, so that when you are able to declare Rivalry, the game hasn't updated your new border position. I think this is also what causes the invincible fleet bug, as the game still believes the fleet is MIA (the bug only occurs when a fleet retreats), so they can attack while your ships just sit there. The worst time I've ever experienced it was in a fight with a Xenophobic FE, I broke their fleets and moved in to cap their bases. Their fleets returned and just destroyed my fleet because I couldn't fight back, so I was harried all the way to the edge of the system, leaving me with almost no ships.
I really enjoy this style of play through Instead of one planet you might go for the Gia only play through. It still has that really hard startup with the occasional surprise cognizable world. It also give the option to go the terra-forming route mid to late game. There is also the chance for conflict with fallen empires that protect certain Gia worlds. Then you have the option to allow habitats. Whatever you do its always a great watch.
I've been on the fence about getting this game for a long time, after watching this vid, i just bought the deluxe edition and subscribed :) can't wait to jump in and start my own adventures!! Kudos!!!

As all sentient life in the galaxy band together to withstand the Human menace. I wonder what would have been if we were different when they first met us. In another timeline or reality, we might have been saviors and friends. But we only brought death and calamity. It is far too late to make amends.
Marauders? *BUSY!!!! **_DWAMAAAAAK_* Aww... both of you are already in use?.... Shame... Lathrix, casually talking about raiding empires as though they were simple consumables...
(So a bit before this third part. I'm sorry I didn't add more yesterday and in the next couple of days I may not be able to add much as finals are next week and I have statistics homework to do. But that isn't the only reason for this addendum. I was wondering if I should just email you the whole thing or continue writing these in comments, or both. In addition, I've added some terms and lore to the Commonwealth and I was wondering if I should create a separate document explaining the terminology and what not. So a few things: the "Junzi" I mention in the first one in this entry refers to the gene-warriors, and as for the reason why I mentioned a Prime Minister declared war on the UNE is because the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth is a mere puppet. I thought it was unrealistic for the leader of a nation to be referred to by a military rank, as if you look at real life even military dictators wouldn't be called "General" or "Field Marshall," they would usually adopt the title of "Prime Minister" or "President," or in some cases "King" or "Emperor." If you like I will explain my reasoning and the terminology as well as how the Commonwealth works for this roleplay in a separate document. Again, I hope you like my writing and if you have any advice or requests please let me know). "2374/02/16. We just took Trench 87a from the UNE forces here, the UNE lost about 80,000 and we've got two wounded and one dead. Those 'Junzi' are effective, although I do have some issues with them. For starters it's making the others uncomfortable as the Junzi will achieve things that would usually warrant a Marbled Heart, but the thing is the Marbled Heart usually means the recipient is dead or crippled for the Junzi they will fulfill the criteria and *not* be severely injured but at the same time it would be hypocritical to not reward the Junzi. Thankfully General von Fritsch agrees and she said she'll talk to Grand Marshall Morthi about it. But the issuance of medals isn't the only issue. It's the commanders of the Junzi. I don't know why they have to all be women. I heard something mentioned about pheromones from some of them while they were talking but if they use pheromones on the Junzi to control them then why can't men have the organ or whatever it is that's been added to the women? My problem isn't that the commanders are women, my problem is that the commanders are frequently immature and were only promoted because they were women. I've petitioned that the Junzi have their own substructure or branch but I know that's going to be unpopular within High Command, if General von Fritsch's reaction was anything to go by anyway. Still the battle for this rock should soon be over. Wei is still grieving, I suppose I can't really blame him. I don't know what I'd do if Mary died giving birth to Lois, but still I wish he'd be nicer to Ai. I mean, he could at least talk to the kid. I tried talking to Wei about it but he started ordering more and more drinks, and frankly I know he can overpower me so there was no stopping him from drinking and I didn't want to start a bar fight. I'm going to try next week but this time I've talked to Seamus, and got him to agree to only serve him simu-alcohol. Hard to believe that the Wei who was valedictorian at the academy is now this drunken buffoon." Excerpt from the journal of Colonel James Marsh, 2374/02/16. "Prime Minister assassinated! Yesterday Prime Minister Bunraku was murdered while exiting the Parliament by a sniper. Several other MP's were also assassinated, including Aleksander Muchenik, Alesiu Onestu, and Steen Udskud. The assasain was quickly detained, whereupon it was discovered that the murderer was a Ethan Lavon, a UNE national who as it turns out is a member of a UNE squad attempting to install a UNE puppet as the Prime Minister. As such Grand Marshall Amav Morthi has declared martial law and has assumed the duties of Prime Minister until it has been deemed that the UNE sleeper agents have been removed and the war against UNE has been concluded." Headlines from the Unity Herald, 2374/02/18. "2374/04/28. The AI has been mostly useful, I've had to fill in the blanks every now and then but it's been doing most of the work so far. Still, this thing is ancient. I spent years studying technology and AI but the stuff used here is beyond me. A lot of the wires and parts have been damaged and I've had to help it redirect electricity more than once because the original wires had been damaged. I already had to use all the spare electronics for our own ship, never mind the spare ones that had been meant just in case for the Baldor just to make sure that it doesn't short circuit. We've requested more equipment but it'll take about a week. In the mean time we've managed to cannibalize the escape pods for spare parts. Still, a lot of the energy flowing about this thing is just weird. I can feel it in my head. I don't know how to explain it. I hope it's just because I need to get some rest or if it's just this thing trying to 'uplift' me first. I'll need to talk to the ship's psychologist tomorrow either way. I was hoping maybe I'd be done suffering from withdrawal by now but if anything it's gotten worse." Excerpt from the journal of Doctor Julian Amov, 2374/04/28. "2374/07/02. At first I thought maybe it was just me having a hard time with filing our taxes yesterday, but when I talked to Veronica when I got home she said she had the same dream. Danny said he had the same thing too. Strange, impossible machines, insane mathematics. At the same time that damned Sudoku book was nothing, I solved in the first five minutes on the train. I'd spent five years trying to figure out that game and never have, but now it just became easier. Everyone at the job seemed different too. I'd talk to the authorities but I don't want to go to the loony pin, not now that Veronica is expecting our first child, well child actually born to us. Hard to think after so long we've finally conceived a child. Danny is handling it pretty well, he's excited to be a big brother." Excerpt from the journal of Michael Yton, 2374/07/02. "2374/09/19. So many people are being rushed in that we've had to borrow medical students from the nearby universities and colleges to help. I'm trying to keep calm and help as many people as I can but there's so many. In addition I haven't slept at all, and Marge is getting worried but I can't sleep. I just can't. I just can't stand those dreams. Those damned equations are driving me insane. Even now they've burned themselves into my mind, just closing my eyes causes me to see them. I just can't stand to see them. I can't stand any more of them. One poor gentleman just kept saying 'pointless' over and over again. Is everyone suffering the same dreams as me?" Excerpt from the journal of Nurse Penelope Jas, 2374/09/19. "2379/06/11. We just took Rome, or what was left of it. It's strange, even it's ruins exude something calming. I don't know how to say it. I remember grandma telling me about the Vatican, Saint Paul's Cathedral, and how a false Pope sits on Saint Peter's throne, more concerned with pleasing the UNE's Secretary-General than administering to the needs of his flock. She told me of how the Vatican was among the most beautiful of places, as told to her by her grandmother, as her grandmother was told by her grandmother, and so on for countless generations. I had thought she was lying. Maybe I hoped she was lying. I wonder what this place was like before. Hopefully it's all rebuilt soon." Excerpt from the journal of Lieutenant Nora Dinan, 2379/06/11. "2379/06/16. Jesse was abusing her Junzi again. She was making them preform activities on each other which were borderline sexual in nature in an abandoned monastery and it nearly resulted in a fight between her and Nora. I really hope they fix the paradise planet event. it happens so often in my games that its not a matter of if, its a matter of when. which really kills the feeling of getting a 25 gaia world by "chance".
I like to think the ghost images of the Neutron Swept planets will always exist in your Civ's collective conscience. They knew that it could be considered morally wrong, however with their elevated intelligence it could also be argued to have been inevitable.
Interesting. Stelaris looks kinda fun, but at the same time, I'm really bad at 4x games. Thanks for this entertaining playthrough, at the very least =)

Yeah the lore text using centuries is a bit off. The description for The Commonwealth says the ark ships left Earth at the end of the 21st century which would make the colony roughly 100 years old
"February 4th, 2455. The last of the enemy stragglers have been wiped out. Despite all the horrors we've heard about them they were surprisingly easy to defeat. A few of the men are complaining of headaches and night terrors, especially the fighter and bomber crews. They keep mentioning eyes, hungry, malicious eyes. I've talked with the admiral and my fellow captains and it's not just my men suffering from it, multiple fighter and bomber crews are complaining of the same thing. I'm hoping that once we destroy the 'portal' that was mentioned in the briefing on the campaign that the nightmares and headaches will go away for my men but I'm not sure. Apparently it's worst for cloned crew members as a few reported hearing voices and at least one tried to kill his CO in an attempt to 'slake Their hunger.' I've decided to give the members of my crew suffering from the night terrors plenty of booze." Excerpt from the journal of Captain Parvan Iskrenov Tsvetkov, February 4th, 2455. "March 10th, 2456. Didn't think we'd find the enemy portal so early. Unfortunately despite firing on the thing for hours it didn't to anything so I guess the 'anchors' will have to be destroyed first. Lin stared at the portal too long, and now he won't shut up about how 'they are uncountable' and how they will devour our souls. Poor Giel is even worse off, he's gone catatonic and keeps saying 'pointless.' I'm hoping he feels better soon but I have a horrible feeling in my gut that he won't. I'm not sure what we'll tell his dad." Excerpt from the journal of Seaman Max Wool, March 10th, 2456. "July 24th, 2457. Apparently I'm going to be promoted to commodore, although it kind of feels empty. So many of my crew have gone catatonic. There's currently a debate among the admirals about what to do with the personnel who have gone insane from viewing the portal and the Unbidden's ships. I've lobbied for the families of the affected individuals to be allowed to decide but I'm not sure how much good my input is going to do. It's strange, when I was younger I always wanted to be a hero but with all these medals I feel more like a Christmas Tree than a soldier." Excerpt from the journal of Commodore Erke Khara, July 24th, 2457. "January 19th, 2468. We just completed the neutron sweep of Schmo-Schmo. Unfortunately the third firing lens has started to wear down dangerously and we will need to have it replaced. I've informed the admirals and the Grand Marshall but I'm not sure how long we'll have to wait until we can get the replacement lens. It's oddly comforting, as terrible as it sounds, watching the neutron sweep bathe a world blue temporarily, leaving the infrastructure and non-sentient life on a planet intact while the more intelligent life is wiped out. Maybe I'm just used to seeing it happen so much that it's just natural to me at this point. I wonder what dad would think of what I just wrote. Would he approve or be horrified. I don't know anymore. What's worse is I'm not entirely sure if I would care." Excerpt from the journal of Captain Amanet Rasulov, January 19th, 2468.
larger ships should have a way to damage more smaller ships at once, like an area effect weapon. That should make corvette blobs less viable and make big ships worthwhile.
You probably aren't bothering to research Epigenetic Triggers tech, which lets you gene-modify pre-sapient species. Since you normally don't care about pre-sapients, that's not surprising, however, researching Epigenetic Triggers also allows you to research *Xenomorph Armies* . What's a Xenomorph Army you ask? Have you seen the movie "Aliens" (the 1986 sequel, not the 1979 original). That's a Xenomorph Army. Why would you want one? Because they have 80% the HP of a Gene Warrior Army (which itself has twice the HP of a "Defense" Army) but do 50% more damage than a Gene Warrior Army. But that's not all! They are also immune to Morale damage and do *THREE TIMES* as much Morale damage to enemies as a Gene Warrior Army - which is just as much Morale damage as a Psi Warrior Army...that they are immune to the effects of, do more physical damage than and have more HP than also. So basically, your gene-sculpted war machines are so horrific that everyone just flees from them rather than standing to do damage to them. What's the downside of using a Xenomorph Army? It does seven times the collateral damage of a Gene Warrior Army...so anything you send them down to is going to be wrecked. But you're going to take the ground and have most of your army left to fight against the next planet with! Also, you've been largely ignoring Disruptors in the videos that I've seen. Probably like everyone else, you see the lower average damage and ignore them. However, you have to take into account that 1-in-4 shots with a autocannon/artillery (75% Accuracy) or 1-in-5 shots with most energy weapons (80% Accuracy) are going to miss. You have to multiply the damage range by the "Accuracy" percentage as a decimal (so "90% Accuracy" becomes "0.9") to get how much damage they're actually going to deliver. The "Penetrating" weapons like Disruptors and Arc Lightning all have 100% Accuracy - so they only miss if Evasion makes them miss. You also have to take into account that half the available HP of a ship is usually Shields and Armor - so you can effectively double the damage ratings of Piercing energy weapons when comparing them to their "accuracy corrected" counterparts. Getting an exact number is more complicated than that because of all the Shield/Armor bonuses/penalties and involves lots more math - but that's a good place to start. Other than things like early-game Space Crystals that suffer more damage from hull-damage-boosted Autocannons without having to chew through armor and shields, I don't use anything but Disruptors and Arc weapons. Do keep in mind that Disruptors have very short ranges, so if you use a standard "30 range" tactic, your Corvettes with small disruptors may be orbiting around outside the range of their actual weapons - I think that has also contributed to some players "wow, these Disruptors really Suck...why would ANYONE ever USE them???" perception a lot of the community has.
Disruptors are pretty good against ships that have beastly Shields and Armor (Contingency), but Lasers/Kinetic are more reliable with DPS. They have their uses, like all weapons (except maybe Strike Craft, cause they're bugged).
@@LAZERAK47V2 Try doing the math. Take the per-day average DPS, multiply it by Accuracy as a decimal. Then divide it by time to make it through shields, armor, and hull: Hull counts as "2", Shields and Armor as "1" each. Take the bonus/penalty against that type of protection, divide one by it and multiply the protection factor by that (i.e. If "+50% against armor", then that would be 150% - or "1.50" - 1/1.50 = 0.66; 1 x 0.66 = 0.66. If it says -25% versus hull, that's 75% or 0.75 - 1/.75 = 1.33; 1.33 x 2 = 2.66. Then sum all the protection factors together ( 2.66 hull + 1.33 armor + 1 shield (no modifier in this hypothetical example) and divide the accuracy-adjusted per-day average dps by that modifier. Assuming you're not dealing with very-late game shields and armor (which give more cumulative protection than the hull number - adding in yet more corrections) that should allow you to compare actual dps. The lasers and kinetic weapons are actually dramatically *less* reliable forms of DPS than Penetrating weapons like disruptors and arc lightning.

These warrior types are usually ill disciplined and rely on the faith they place in their warlords as well as the individual warlord's charisma so here's to hoping that their faith in their glorious leader declined."
Excerpt from the journal of Admiral Dolores Rosario, June 28th, 2399.
I'm going to see if I can't guilt trip Morthi into at least giving me a small bonus to my retirement pension but I'm not sure if he'll agree."

Just not sure how the Army will feel about the project."

The galaxy is humanity's but somehow it doesn't feel right using this weapon. Although I guess it's better to use this weapon and not have to use any soldiers on the ground, risking casualties and damaging the planet's infrastructure. * 30/30 AI all with advanced fully random starts (So started 46/46 in ranks)
* 5/5 FE
* No guarantees for habitable planets
* 5x science and unity costs too
I'm playing with a pacifist, egalitarian and xenophobic megacorp (not criminals).
It's physically painful, but so awesome and fun at the same time. Naturally, it's modded with stuff to add variety to gameplay:
* More Events Mod
* Dynamic Political Events
* Potent Rebellions
* Plentiful Traditions
* Ruler Level System
* Here, There Be Dragons
* Dynamic Galaxy - Anomalies Respawner & New Anomalies
* More AI Personalities
* Propaganda and Espionage
* Empire University
* Masters of Nature
* Glavius's Ultimate AI for 2.2.7
* Gigastructural Engineering & More
and a bunch more graphical and UI mods, which all in all keep & enhance vanilla feel of the game.
So, how did it go?
That's more like the Babylon 5 setting.
Did you die?
The interdimensional hunters? We've already seen them.
I love this format you're doing. It makes it so much better to watch when you edit it.
I totally thought you would've gotten the contingency, seeing your sectors were building robots and you were using sentient ship computers. XD
I'm pleasantly surprised. ^^
i fully understand your detest for advanced ai starts. I stopped using it after my like 8th attempt at this game when it came out because i ALWAYS had an advanced ai opposing faction type to what i was doing next to me. Not a single time were they at least neutral so they didnt immediately declare war on me.
I know these videos are a couple years old now, but they’re a lot of fun and I appreciate what you did!
I love how I can go back a few years and lathland still sounds great. love this channel
I miss the swarm a bit, but the other stuff on your channel is also great.
6:00 The mass extinction event is described as being a natural, cyclical phenomenon. often caused by extraplanetary, astrophysical events. ='[.]'=
Who else would like to see a Barbaric Despoiler playthrough ?
Whatever you do its always a great watch.
these are the best stellaris videos ever made please make this a long term series
These are really fun videos, so by all means do more if you so wish.
Also, a long gap between these videos as was with this and the last one is good
little upset that there wasnt a unique reaction with the nations of earth
They should make it possible to invade other galaxies once you have conquered yours
Love these mate, keep up the top work!
Those videos are 11/10 idea. Great work!
5 years ago, yet still enjoyable. Thank you Lathland.
I've been on the fence about getting this game for a long time, after watching this vid, i just bought the deluxe edition and subscribed :) can't wait to jump in and start my own adventures!! Kudos!!!
I love those "Full Runs". I even prefer this over the cut episodes.
Wish more people would make videos in this format, at least when it comes to long games like paradox ones or total war games.
Again loved it! Surprised you haven't met the scourge yet
On countless words, knee-deep in action
Terrestrials, deserts, oceans
Saw them all in the wars of expansion
Slaughtered beings of every denomination
Arthropods, reptiles, crustaceans
Killed them all in the wars of expansion
Bled for the human race, the one true faction
Pride, guilt, satisfaction
Felt them all in the wars of expansion
Greetings from beloved Unity, home of the human race
Salutations that bear tremendous terror for a bullet's in your face
An agent of death and mass destruction
Proudly served the homeworld with distinction
A dealer of lethal savage killin' blows
Personally ended the last of many Xenos
As all sentient life in the galaxy band together to withstand the Human menace.
I wonder what would have been if we were different when they first met us.
In another timeline or reality, we might have been saviors and friends.
But we only brought death and calamity. It is far too late to make amends.
Lathland: "Getting some mass effect vibes here".
Me: "Gate:Argon-Prime".
Tmw you almost choke to death at "glory to the writing mass!"
That earned a sub XE
I miss Fallout this common wealth makes me feel better
i suppose it had to be made eventually welp time to praise the emperor for HE GUIDES OUR SWORDS
This 3 years old video helped me start my Empire. Thanks!
Marauders?
*BUSY!!!! **_DWAMAAAAAK_*
Aww... both of you are already in use?....
Shame...
Lathrix, casually talking about raiding empires as though they were simple consumables...
I love these full playthroughs. Perfect length and highly entertaining. :-)
I love it how endgame crisis always shows up just in time to become lunch.
Even now this is still my favorite full game he's played
Hard to believe that the Wei who was valedictorian at the academy is now this drunken buffoon."
Excerpt from the journal of Colonel James Marsh, 2374/02/16.
As such Grand Marshall Amav Morthi has declared martial law and has assumed the duties of Prime Minister until it has been deemed that the UNE sleeper agents have been removed and the war against UNE has been concluded."
Headlines from the Unity Herald, 2374/02/18.
I was hoping maybe I'd be done suffering from withdrawal by now but if anything it's gotten worse."
Excerpt from the journal of Doctor Julian Amov, 2374/04/28.
Danny is handling it pretty well, he's excited to be a big brother."
Excerpt from the journal of Michael Yton, 2374/07/02.
Is everyone suffering the same dreams as me?"
Excerpt from the journal of Nurse Penelope Jas, 2374/09/19.
Hopefully it's all rebuilt soon."
Excerpt from the journal of Lieutenant Nora Dinan, 2379/06/11.
"2379/06/16. Jesse was abusing her Junzi again. She was making them preform activities on each other which were borderline sexual in nature in an abandoned monastery and it nearly resulted in a fight between her and Nora. I've decided to try and have her court-martialed but I'm not sure if it will go anywhere as there's a high demand for female officers who can control the Junzi and since her uncle is the head of Yodd Benn Military Academy and has plenty of friends. Still I have to show her that her actions I have consequences before she does something that hurts not only herself and her unit but the Commonwealth. I've had Jesse's Junzi put in cryo-sleep for the time being and put Jesse in the brig. Here's to hoping this whole thing goes well."
Excerpt from the journal of Captain Shahin Zamani, 2379/06/16.
Well no sleep for me tonight
22:24 BEST MOMENT
:declares war on every fallen empire searching for the “squish-bomb” tech! I must have it!
I really hope they fix the paradise planet event.
it happens so often in my games that its not a matter of if, its a matter of when.
which really kills the feeling of getting a 25 gaia world by "chance".
For when I don’t want the auto play playing rubbish with zero interaction from me, these are perfect. Thanks 👍
Man, at the very end you should have opnened the L-Cluster too! Then you would have conquered *ALL* available space in the galaxy.
Your presentation style reminds me of totalbiscuits. This makes me smile.
I enjoyed watching this. Also, the one planet challenge sounds like it would be interesting to watch
love this new format, keep up the moviemaking.
Your Commonwealth of Man gameplay went so smoothly compared to mine, I started with 2 xeno nations literally 2 systems away from my capital each...
Still hoping for the 5x end crisis fun :) Love your videos and impressed you had the patience to edit this into one video.
wait this was 4 years ago??
Bro same I’m watching videos from years ago it’s a well of untapped content
Lathrix, you should do a FTD series where every ship you get is a retrofit of ships you capture(no building ship other then sattilites, or unarmed bording craft)
Your videos are amazing! With your accent, every time you say bonus (A LOT in this series) I ALWAYS think you're saying boneless lmao
Have you done a fanatic Xenophile before?
if not, that's something you could try XD
>commonwealth of man
>with Gene warriors
The codex Astartes approves this action.
I prefer these condensed videos to long form playlists.
1:19:02 The trails looks like a heart.
Perfect background content while playing Stellaris.
Just got the game but watching your vids has taught me alot thx bro good work
Another great vid!
Cant wait till Mega-Tall empire playthrough!!! love the game and well i tried but welp, failed, twice
Love the Stellaris content, subbed!
Love these condensed playthroughs!
This guy, with Gigastructures mod...oh...oh god. Oh god no...those poor xenos...
1:59:39
Xenos advisor: "Sir! The humans have defeated the invasion! Those monsters are gone!"
Xenos leader: "What a relief."
Xenos advisor: "Uh...sir?"
Xenos Leader: What is it councillor?
Xenos advisor: "Sir they- *gulp* the humans are turning around, they're charging weapons."
Xenos leader: "Goddamit."
2:09:57
Now there's only one thing left to do: Use the console to trigger the spawning of every crisis faction in the game simultaneously!
the trails from your ships aren't actualy ion based
there blood based
all hail the blood god and the lathrixian legion
HERESY!
Blood is a legitimate reaction mass.
HERESY!!11!!1!
Yeah the lore text using centuries is a bit off. The description for The Commonwealth says the ark ships left Earth at the end of the 21st century which would make the colony roughly 100 years old
Also it seems they didn't really end up that far from Earth after all
You should have united all of the Strike Forces into a single armada so that you could see your empire's entire naval power at the end.
Apparently it's worst for cloned crew members as a few reported hearing voices and at least one tried to kill his CO in an attempt to 'slake Their hunger.' I've decided to give the members of my crew suffering from the night terrors plenty of booze."
Excerpt from the journal of Captain Parvan Iskrenov Tsvetkov, February 4th, 2455.
I'm not sure what we'll tell his dad."
Excerpt from the journal of Seaman Max Wool, March 10th, 2456.
It's strange, when I was younger I always wanted to be a hero but with all these medals I feel more like a Christmas Tree than a soldier."
Excerpt from the journal of Commodore Erke Khara, July 24th, 2457.
What's worse is I'm not entirely sure if I would care."
Excerpt from the journal of Captain Amanet Rasulov, January 19th, 2468.
larger ships should have a way to damage more smaller ships at once, like an area effect weapon. That should make corvette blobs less viable and make big ships worthwhile.
my favorite latherix video
@The Phantom Crusader But does he know how he unlocked them?
HERESY THE BEST WARRIORS ARE GENETICALLY MODIFIED HUMAN SPACE MARINES!
9 Hyperlane entry points into starting system. If that were me I'd be like "Well I know where 9 of my starbases are going!"
nice. i love these vids.
You are like: Zero Frames!
I'm like: Zero enemys!
luv ur vids!
*GASH DARN BILLY ITS THEM ALIENS AGAIN. WHERES MA PLASMA BUCKSHOT?!*
I really like these one video, full Stellaris run through’s.
