Since I didn't actually end up explaining It in the video early on - Being in negative energy has an effect on Army Damage, Ship Weapon Damage and Infiltration. None of these had any impact on the early game, hence why I just ignored It for the cheesey element of this build!
Comment to show that Stellaris (ESPECIALLY modded) is a series I wish to see continued on the channel. On a less joking note, I absolutely love gigastructures and its fun to watch the mod handled by someone who's better behind the wheel than I am lol
That minor issue at the start was due to the amount of arms in the spiral. 4 arms has medium as min galaxy size, if you wish to go smaller you need to change it to 2 arms. (Just gettin in my comment, For the ALGORITHM!)
Glad to see someone already pointed it out. Saves me the trouble of trying to not sound arrogant while telling someone with WAY MORE experience in the game than me something about the game. Yes I am overthinking this.
I've been having fun with the Frame World origin now in Gigastructural Engineering. It's a forced one planet challenge with a lot of cool updates to how the single planet works. I'd recommend trying it out next time you can't decide what sort of empire to do.
I'd love to watch your full playthroughs of these stellaris vids, maybe on a different channel because algorithm reasons but I just enjoy listening and watching you, stutters and all. As someone with dyslexia also I can't read that well either without it being all jumbled so you're a bit of an inspiration. Keep doing what you are doing!
i'd like that too, but the thing is they are 30+ hours and it would take foreeeeeever to upload it to YT, so it would need to be another cut version and that's already what he's doing. Maybe a bloopers vid on a second channel. Also that second channel could be cute animals daily! Call it LathLair. someone spam Lathrix with the idea.
In my playthrough I generated my own galaxy through the EHOF and migrated my entire empire to it. Then, when the Scourge arrived, I severed all connections to the old galaxy and let them devour everything. Was hoping you'd do the same towards the end there, but a Scourge zoo is fine too.
I always think it's funny that nearly every time there's a full playthrough, Lathrix says that it has the most amount of recording time. Shows he really enjoys the game and just can't stop playing.
The interceptor attack moon is expecting to be doing so much damage per shot that it would overkill corvettes no matter what ur firing, so reducing damage in exchange for accuracy and all the other stuff makes sense
"It's a shame wecan'tbuild multiple of these super weapons... that'd be fun." - Lathrix the space terrorist Mmm, sometimes you make me wonder with these quotes, lol!
I sincerely from the bottom of my heart enjoy your playthroughs and have one favor to ask: that you try the crisis manager mod end game edition. This mod makes the crises even harder, allows multiple to spawn, and in general makes the game more fun for these longer experiences because you're not too overpowered by the end.
I got to the part where you talk about the length and stuff in the beginning, and got reminded to like the vid... and realized I had already done it when I first loaded it up. Man I love these playthroughs.
Man, this is perfect. I was literally JUST searching for a Full Playthrough I hadn't watched yet. My computer is currently down for the count, so I'm not able to play for myself, this has been a good surrogate for that.
You should play the new frame world origin it's an actually fun take on the one planet challenge with a twist Edit: also ancient cache of technologies plus acquisition of technology is really fun, not to mention the new crisis from acot secrets beyond the gates
As always love to see all of these stellaris playthroughs, and modded as well! Cant wait to see the katzen when you have time after you finish them up i would love to see a playthrough about the aeternum
The full playthroughs you do in stellaris as easily my favourite videos to watch, I genuinely enjoy following along with what is going on in the game and as a big fan of stellaris myself you are my favourite creator for the game :)
one thing i always love doing in giga is going like budding plants or some other super fast growing species, going wide, and then build a birch world and migrate everyone onto it. the birch world when provided sufficent pops is completely self sufficient, including stratigics
These videos are my absolute favorite, I really wish UA-cam could incentivize this kind of long content. Edited down to a reasonable length, highlighting key moments and big decisions, this is The Best Way to watch a Stellaris playthrough.
Never played stellaris, didn't search it in UA-cam, however you showed up in my suggestions, so praise the algorithm. Also, I generally prefer longer format videos and your humor and production quality have earned you a sub. Will probably binge a lot of your content over the next few days. Happy Trails! Edited for grammar, hate typing on phone keyboards sometimes.
I found your channel due to your awesome long-form Stellaris videos and I sincerely hope they continue for years to come :D I gotta say I absolutely love Gigastructural enginering, it just brings it to the next level!
I am so consistently surprised at how you manage to not only record these runs, but to edit them down into a single package. Whatever youtube says, this is bomb and thank you for all the effort you go through to deliver this to us
Hey, just wanted to help you push your videos in the algorithm. Been watching your videos for a few months now and enjoy them greatly. From the (video)style, commentary to the gameplay, I just like to have it play while eating or doing dishes. The longer the video, the better. I especially love your (semi-blind) modded playthroughs, they are always fun to watch!
1:00:53 The megastructures are ordered by alphabetical order and clumped into groups of the size of the mega. Kilostructures like gateways, macroengineering stations and habitats first, then Megastructures like most of the vanilla ones and things like the star lifter, then Gigastructures like the Brains, Hyperfroges and Planetcraft, then Terastructures like the Birch World and the QSO. Also, you can terraform the world around the Birch. I typically turn it into a Maginot World for defence
for the larger ships (such as the attack moons), I highly recommend adding the mod UI Overhaul Dynamic for future playthroughs along with its other various improvements to the game's UI, the ship designer menu is made larger to allow for more massive ship designs without parts overlapping.
im assuming he knows and just isnt doing it,for some odd reason or another,we have been telling him for like every gigastructures video for the past year~
Mainly commenting to show my support for these episodes, love watching these longer stelaris episodes, really loving your play though of gigastructures.
Imagine how terrifying it would be to find the supermassive black hole in the center of your galaxy has quintillions of robots on it and now you’ve made them aware of the wider galaxy after a billion years of isolation. And now they’re absorbing the rest of the galaxy
I've recently started playing Stellaris, and I'm really enjoying your Stellaris videos now that I have a better idea what's going on in them. Thanks for spending probably hours of real time making these full playthrough videos, the content is very much appropriate.
I was able to very easily and quickly conquer, vassalize, and turn into a tributary every other empire in the galaxy as a driven assimilator and was also able to create my own mini-galaxy made of cohesive systems using the EHOF. Can confirm, this origin is STRONG af, even in comparison to the Birch World and Anderson Disk origins.
I played this mod with a friend, both of us choosing a gigastructure origin. He chose orbital arcology. I chose the planetary computer. Half way through the playthrough, I realized I had the ability to build the QSO, and he was still unlocking megastructures. I ended up donating him systems with completed planetary computers, Science Nexi, and so on to boost him up. And I wasn't even cheesing the energy debuff. This origin is probably a bit too OP for multiplayer.
Attack Moons and Behemoth Planetcraft might be my favorite part of Gigastructures. Who needs normal fleets when you can have three crafts take down a whole fallen empire?
Somehow, I do not play this game, nore do I watch this video(I let it play when I have trouble falling asleep). But since you help me out with these videos for the simple reason of being so passionate about this, uplifting my spirits before I drift off to sleep, I can't help but always like these videos whenever I see them. Keep doing them for as long as you are having fun with this game (and can support yourself with them). They have probably helped more people than just me through some long nights. Thank you
I have nothing to say yet, as I've just started watching the vid, but i'm doing my part ! Keep uploading these, they are the highlight of my week everytime they come out !
Playthru's like this make me yearn to play Stellaris again. It's just so enjoyable to build a perfect galaxy, to build megastructures. To curate peace between the silly organics that think conflict is a solution. To combat and defeat entropy, so that none are left wanting.

The easiest way of speedrunmkng to the endgame is Ancient Cache Of Technologies Legacy of the Void origin. You start with a few systems, some good pre- colonised planets and all tier 6 research, including dark matter!
Something I would note with the attack moon at roughly 38 minutes in - The interceptor class really isn't as bad as you might otherwise expect - while -40% damage looks bad, if my maths are correct its basically entirely counteracted by the +60% fire rate, and should have ~96% net DPS compared to normal. There's probably some other factors in there that I'm not versed in, but I would imagine more chances at damage is generally always better since fleets are far better at dodging (at least compared to planets), and it also helps avoid wasted damage on the bigger guns that would otherwise oneshot a corvette then waste 95% of the damage. At least from what I can tell, the main drawback/opportunity cost is that while its far more effective of course at dealing with small ships, it means its not in a "better" specialization to deal with large targets like artillery as to deal with other giga-craft.
Fire rate is usually more important than damage anyways (high damage tends to overkill even bigger ships with lots of repeatables) so the tradeoff should be more than worth it
I really look forward to more Stellaris and mod exploration as more things come out. I've played for a rather long time but I've learned new ways to get ahead thanks to this series of videos

Who needs energy
Just don't spawn next to Gcide Empires Lmao
[Big Shot]
Are you going to try frame world with gigastructal engineering
Should have saved the O-class Star for the matrioshka brain. O-class has 150% output and Upkeep
"Theres no way those filthy primitives can ever catch up to u-"-The fallen empires
True in Standard, also.
Always funny when they run into the first system of mine only to very suddenly have 1000 strike corvettes in their face.
Cybertron mk2 be like. I can hear you

If he had the new one, aeternum would just self destruct they are so powerful

same
Same here
I am participating

I just feel like gigastructures mod adds A LOT of stuff, and it can feel very overwhelming.
That minor issue at the start was due to the amount of arms in the spiral. 4 arms has medium as min galaxy size, if you wish to go smaller you need to change it to 2 arms.

Yes I am overthinking this.
@@Proxima_Livion ha, I had that exact same feeling writing this up :P
Just to clarify further, 2-arms allows a Small-size galaxy. Tiny galaxies can be only Elliptical or Ring.
@@Proxima_Livion you’re not overthinking you’re just a tool.

3:02 it’s not the mod, it’s base Stellaris.
You can’t select 4 arm spirals for small. And you can’t select 2 arm spiral for tiny.
The interceptor attack moon is expecting to be doing so much damage per shot that it would overkill corvettes no matter what ur firing, so reducing damage in exchange for accuracy and all the other stuff makes sense

You can actually somewhat do this by spamming after burners on the utility slots.
