I’m sure you have figured this out by now but you can shift to neutral while moving if you’re under 10mph. That’s the only way I’ve figured it out. I have the 2022 Z400 black and green. Have fun on it. It’s an awesome bike. The Leo Vince’ slip on sounds great on it. Bar end mirrors are a must to be able to see.

I also got a 2023 Z400 as my first bike ever, last Saturday. I've only been out on it about 3 times since then, because I live in PA and its cold as fuuuuuuuuuuuu (you get the point) right now. But as someone who's never really ridden a motorcycle at all, this thing is absurdly easy to learn how to ride. All i've been doing is going around my apartment complex, but because the bike is so light and nimble, its really helping me build my confidence, and practice those slow speed skills. I'm hoping if we get a warmer day, i'll take it out on the main roads for a bit. Gonna have to learn how to deal with traffic eventually right?

Not sure why you think it’s necessary to put it in neutral while moving.
It has a positive neutral finder, like all Kawasaki’s.
So when you’re stopped you can just shift up and it will stop at neutral and not shift into 2nd.

I’m in the market for my first ever bike right now. I’m looking at either a z400 a versys x300 or a scout bobber. I’m leaning towards the kawasakis just for comfortability, and the scout bobber seems like too much horse power for me (a beginner). Let me know your thoughts and if you have any different bike recommendations! I enjoyed the video, loved watching it.

And I do believe the loose throttle play is suppose to be 2-3mm of wiggle. You can tighten it pretty easy. I put tape around my throttle and bar end then mark fully closed position and then mark the position right before the throttle would be engaged, if you need to tighten it use ur marks on the tape to notice how much you’ve adjusted it. After you adjust it start ur bike in neutral, turn the bars all the way left then right just to make sure you don’t engage ur throttle while turning.

why do u clutch in so much? just let the bike roll lol. u shift fine but u clutch in around turns and down hill a lot ( in this video at least) which can be very bad for you and the clutch. I'm just observing, not trying to be a dick. do u still do those things now? i mean its been a year but I'm just curious on why u do that

Unforgivable that it still comes with that SORELY outdated display... I have the cash ready but won't spend until the z400 has a TFT display like on the z650 & above... Wish me luck for the 2024 model!
    It also needs LED blinkers...
