  • This video is a FULL ON How To, and or a Tutorial on HOW TO Repair the most common dent on a Tesla Model Y Tailgate.
Forget the Bit Where I Messed This Dent Up! 🫣
I made sure to capture every moment of this repair so that you, the viewer can really see how it’s actually carried out. No rubber plungers, hot water or welding tools and certainly No Filler or Paintwork
This repair took around 8 hours to complete. In real world times this would take around 4-5 hours (without any filming etc)
I started off the repair using a lot of heat and a soft cap rubber tipped PDR bar
After struggling to push the dent out I released a lot of tension above the bodyline which really helped.
Still putting up a fight I decided to use Lateral tension to stretch the panel and this gave me a lot of help!
Lots and lots of fine pushing and tapping down until eventually the dent was up.
The bottom panel edge was the toughest part of this repair and with my handy technique of repairing this I had it looking amazing.
A few last tweeks and I created a chip in the paint and I was horrified.
Yes the paint had been compromised from the accident and these issues don’t often happen but still. I’m fixing dents without paining and this is real life.
I’m not perfect but il happily share my skills and knowledge, and help you with showing my repairs to you.

Paintless Dent Removal or PDR is a method of removing minor dings and dents from the vehicle bodywork without the need for filler and paintwork. This is a highly skilled process in which the dent(s) is massaged from the rear of the panel or sometimes from the front using glue pulling methods.

When its large dent I still can’t get my heard around how he can see the tool tip when pushing on a large dent. With my small experience I would be tempted to use fog light but there’s a reason why he’s so good. Lovely work. Keep going brother. Thanks for the videos.

It's a horrible feeling, I did similar on a BMW bootlid a few years back. Fixed a nasty dent right on the top edge but then in the final stages, tidying up the finish and with a metal knock down, I put 2 small chips in. I was gutted... Great repair though pal and thanks for sharing the good and the bad 👍🏻

Hi Martin, as always you have done a great job. What matters is the end result, which is great. The little damage to the paint is just bad luck.
I remember my teacher, who used to tell me that 'the best is the enemy of the good'...
    You’re still the number one!

Good morning and afternoon. I am not a PDR master, but a tinsmith, although I study PDR repair myself and understand how difficult and responsible it is. I believe that you should not worry about the little things in the repair, which the client may not even see, because your work is done super well!!!
p.s. I'm watching you and learning. A subscriber from Russia
