Really good watch for an amazing price. I exclusively buy watches with the vh31 movement. It's the perfect tradeoff between an automatic and a quartz movement. The straps fitted straps look really good. Thanks for linking those in the description.
I have this watch with the black bezel white/silver markings and I say with confidence this is an incredible build, value, and the best homage to the Black Bay 54. Thank you Watchdives 🙏
nice review. would be great to show an outdoor/wide angle shot of your wrist rocking the watch you're reviewing. it'll show us how the watch is gonna look from our point of view/eye -level. thanks
I went for the gilt version and I am delighted with it. The only fault is that the indices are VERY green/yellow and it detracts from the watch but does not spoil it for me. I would prefer the lume to be white like the other versions. I would recommend these watches to anyone who likes ultra accurate quartz watches with the BB look.
I have one of these in the maroon bezel and bought another yesterday in black with gold. Yes, Love the VH31 a lot. I’m glad Seiko came out with this movement. I just can’t stand the second hand not ticking on the minute marker.
I have the Militado ML05, it has the VH-31 movement. It’s my first and so far I like it a lot. It’s not quite as smooth sweeping as what I’m accustomed to, but I like the fact that I can just pick it up and move-on. It’s a solid watch I got it for about $38. And I will admit I was prejudiced and skeptical at first about this particular movement and quartz movements in general because I’m from the school from the time the quartz movements were cheap and automatic movements were a better/higher quality option.
The markers on the bezel match the minute markings on the dial but there is a difference between the gold on the 3 hands & the bezel/minute markings. Its more noticeable when in bright light.Oh just like to reiterate the lume is exceptional
Great review. It’s crazy that a $100 watch can have the crown logo lined up when screwed in but a $10,000 Rolex has a crooked logo when the crown is screwed down. It’s a great time to be into watches.
I have this watch and love everything about it except the gilt dial and lume color. I'd kill for a monochrome version with white text, minute track and bgw9 lume. My problem with the lume is that it shines green when it's out in the sun. In low light, it looks great, but in most light it looks green.
@@HHWatchReviews Yeah, I wrote them about it, and they sent me a concept design. The thing is, they're also changing the bezel insert to resemble the Black Bay 41 monochrome with hash marks between the pip and 15. I prefer the the BB54 look with no hash marks. I asked them if they were going to put one of those out, and they said they'd consider it, which feels like they're probably not going to do it. Which I don't understand, as they've already produced the bezel inserts. I have to say, what turns me off most homages to vintage watches is the faux patina lume and gilt dials. I don't know why so many brands refuse to put out simple black & white dials. Bigger brands included, like Tudor, Omega and Oris. Imagine a 36mm vintage style Railmaster with white lume instead of orange. It'd be perfect.
Ok so I just noticed that the watch is released and you’re right it has the regular diver bezel with the 15 minute mark. That’s a weird decision because like you said they already have the bezel insert
@@HHWatchReviews Their intention was probably to clone the Black Bay 41 Monochrome. Or maybe I'm just cursed to never get what I want. Who knows? My plan is to give them a few months to see if they release a monochrome version with the original bezel, and if they don't, I might get the monochrome one and swap its innards into the original version's case. Maybe the mix-matched lume pip will bother me, maybe it won't. I'll have to wait and see.
I have a number of vh31 watches and I like the movement, however I have not had it last the specified 2 years yet. The battery does not last particularly well.
@@KellAlbuquerque I couldn't say exactly but a couple have not lasted a year. They go on rotation so I only find out when I pull them out. If I had to guess I would say 10 months.
Finally someone without a camera or fountain pen in the background. The plant is a fresh touch!
I’m glad you like it 😄

Mine is in the mail. I'm really excited
its crazy that no one has reviewed this color yet....it looks amazing
Honestly I’m also surprised. I figured since it is a BB54 homage, might as well review the original colour
I prefer to see original bb58 bezel color. It fits better.
@unwokeneuropean3590 the red triangle on the gilt bezel is really nice, but having owned a BB58 already, I went for the silver bezel
I cannot decide between this and the red bezel one!

Thanks for the great review. Watchdives is current my go to brand for the best bang for buck homage. Thanks!

Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for amzwatch watch makers
I have this with the red lume triangle .......great size fantastic bezel & the lume is superb

I hope that they'll produce an automatic version in the future. It looks pretty good.
Great video. What size width is the wrist strap?

Watchdives is apparently going to release a monochrome version

this or Thorn, aside from mvmnt?
Anyone that knows the dimensions of the bezel insert or maybe a ceramic that would fit this case?
Which do you think is better and long lasting lume? C3 or bgw?
There is some kind of subtle coil whine sound when you're speaking in the mic.
Still working on getting the audio sound better 😔
Awesome little watch!
They just released a monocrome version as well
Yup just saw that it was on their website
Getting one now - this has become my absolute favorite daily driver!
@@hootonhoot tempted to do the same, it looks super comfortable
Hi Aaron where did you get the strap from for the watchdives wd 7922
Hey! The straps shown in the review are linked in the description of the video
Thank you

How long does the battery last on your vh31 watches?

good review
The VH 31 movement cost $5.00 on aliexpress. Watchdives wants $119.00 for their model! Nuts
Wouldn’t that apply to other movements and brands too?
If only it had an nh35. Would pay the extra 30
That's what Thorn made
This back cover is not ideal for a watch that is often necessary to open to change the battery.
You have 2yrs to prepare…😁
