Pro tip: if an enemy Gunship keeps bombarding one of your settlement buildings over over after you repair it. It's best to not repair it.The AI usually targets a single building and camps it. Best to just finish of that faction rather then spending so much money or repairs non stop.
Also don't be scared of controlled rebelions. They are a source of xp farm and get you that extra tax income, can be swiftly taken down.

It's a shame about the final siege, but the defense you deployed throughout the episode was very good, despite having demobilized practically all the units you had, leaving only the garrison; anyway, the city you hold in the north of Hokkaido Island is more defensible because it's less accessible, but I think you should improve the defenses a bit to ensure that.

Losing those cities are completely worth it, you grow your economy and develop your cities. Once you are set you’ll take them back easily. And something you can do to get more money: put taxes at maximum in cities you are willing to lose, you’ll make more money out of them(but they’ll grow mad faster)

You need to work on your economy, navies are super expensive to maintain. Plus you only need the destroyer or what ever it’s called it’s almost impossible to destroy and you can have 3 of them

I highly recommend to research kneel fire on your technology's in a battle it allows your gunmen to have more firepower. It does this by having the first row kneel down and have the row behind fire. This doubles your firepower heling you win battles
