These how to vids always show me something new. I like to use a clip on bell weight. I can take it off without cutting the line. Looking forward to the catching vid now. Good work.
Really enjoyed your video thanks for sharing!
Carolina rig is the one I use never knew that’s what it was called thanks for the tips 👍🏼
Loved it brother thank u
I loved fishing on that pier! I wish I had seen your videos one year ago! I will be prepared next time I go! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching Lisa 💯
You’ll get them next time
Carolina rig is the only rig I use for bridge and pier fishing. If I really want to stealth it out I let the bait free fall if the tide/current isnt too rough. Knocker rig is also effective.
I am headed out now. Looking forward to trying this out. Thanks for the info captain
Yes sir!
_Awesome video! ___
great tips Chris! Covid-19 got everybody fishing 😅
You’re not lying, people gotta go back to work!
This was awesome! Thank you so much 🙌 I was planning on doing some snapper fishing next weekend and I’m so glad I stumbled across your video man!
Very clear presentation for this knot. I really like your videos!
@@stephanietaylor7928 Thank you Steph
YES! Go catch em up
Those are the 2 main rigs I use on that bridge and it works wonders.
Another great video. I will be using both rigs for mangrove this weekend. Thanks
You catch any?
@@CaptChrisCanning yeah just free line from a boat ramp with cut shrimp
Two rigs that work!
Yes sir
Nice video
Love them both. Knocker is great when finding a school of yellowtail in your chum slick, and carolina is good for anything. bottom! Do you ever hang a chum bag from that pier?
great video dude
Thanks for watching Tim !
Hell yea bro
We were out there Friday night and into Saturday. Shark bites was fire at night and had steel leader cut clean several times. Super fun and thanks for the video.
Sharks are thick right now 💯
@@CaptChrisCanning we will be back in June for grouper. But the only shark we kept was a 24" sharpnose for dinner. Couldn't get any snapper to bite.
Good tutorial. I think you missed linking the Albright Knot. Yeah, we have people fishing all over the place too. Keep them coming.
Oh shoot, I’ll link it now! Thanks JC! You know how it goes when you schedule out post
Great Video! Thanks, but I think second rig rightly called Fish finder rig, Knocker rig has no swivel in between.
Gunna go give these a try at the Sanibel Bridge down here! Maybe even the Ft. Myers Beach Pier it it ever opens back up 😩 proud of you guys for keeping your bait alive though! 😉👍
You really should! Actually, let's go do it!
Chris Canning get down here and let’s go!
Nice
Thanks for watching 💯
Awesome video Chris. Very informative. I have one question why did you tie the Albright knot instead of a different not. I guess it's all preference correct.
Yes Ken, all preference! I have just mastered that knot and know it’s nice and strong 💪🏼
You can use any knot you like
How long of leader line u use for the jig head ?
Knocker rig works well too
So how does the swivel rig compare to a knocker rig? Is there any difference in effectiveness?
Absolutely. They are both used in different manners. The bait is presented differently, I use both, switch it up and figure out what they’re biting on
Do you need a pier net at skyline? I am moving to tampa in a couple weeks and want to be prepared
I would recommend you get one. You don’t need one, but it will make your life a lot easier
I use the Carolina rig ofter from salt to freshwater
The Carolina rig is where it is at Chris!
Great We have been fishing this way for years in my country but the stream of water must be present, but the fish dont eat the bait if the current stops, we cannot fish and the hook is pointing in the rocks

@chris canning
Looks like you're on the south side. I'll be down Sunday for four days.
Are you fishing all four days?
Yep. Tierra Verde, DeSoto, Pass-A-Grille, Skyway.
How long of a leader do you use with each? Thanks!
2-3ft
Experiment, I use between 6" and 18" if I start out with a longer leader then lose the hook I tie another hook on the leader. Check for frayed line though.
On like Donley Kong. Let's go to the trusty Skyway and slay em.
Let’s go 💯
My biggest mangrove snapper is 28” long 🤣🦾
What's the best month for those snapper at that pier
All sprint and summer the bite is hot.
That's what I hate about people putting out videos about 'The Skyway Pier': they don't tell you there's TWO Skyway Piers, North and South. Which one are you at? Other than that, love the videos.
South
Thank you for watching brother
@@CaptChrisCanning Always a pleasure to watch your videos, keep 'em coming and good work.
@@CaptChrisCanning I use the second rig a lot at the North Pier (just relocated to St Petersburg) with a 2oz weight and 1/0 hook: I hear the South pier is better so I'll have to give it a try. ;-)
Just watched joshes video now I’m watching yours - dam it’s the same video just you pointed the camera in the other direction 👈🏽👉🏻 well no wall hangers but ya didn’t get skunked, , hey Chris did you guys ever hang a big chum bag down were you were fishing to try and fire em up down below ? 🤔 or would the sharks get involved?
We actually have never put a cum bag in the water there. I honestly think that it would attract the sharks AND the dolphin!
@@CaptChrisCanning Hey Chris, you might want to check your spelling here! Kids watch these videos too. LOL
This is pretty much the same rig for catching the sheepies.
I'd like to ask you a question, are you or joshypoo married?
Josh is, I am not
skyway suks lol buy a boat
tim miller I have a boat 👍🏼 pier fishing has a nice challenge to it
They just charge so much to fish it ...i miss gandy
