I feel like I just went fishing with you. Great video. I see a lot of videos that always start with bait but no instructions on getting your bait. Can you do a video on casting? Size nets? How to catch your bait? No bait no chum no fish! Thank you again.
Thanks for the comment! We have a couple bait catching videos on our channel but we will do one again soon on net sizes and how to target specific types of bait.
I did watch them after subscription and they were great. I need help with best net sizes for different baits, which is better for the beach, jetty, from a boat, from a bridge and how to cast. If you can add methods to keep them alive if you don’t have a bait well in a boat that would be awesome. Keep the videos coming and thank you for sharing/responding!
I'm glad I found your channel. I am moving from North Port to Parrish within the year and I wanted to get a head start on some channels for fishing Tampa Bay. As a member of Saltstrong, I have done pretty good but always look towards the guides and locals of the areas to hone my skills. Thank you for having such an informative channel willing to show how you are catching snappers and groupers in Tampa Bay. I like my light tackle but also have the heavier tackle when it is needed. going out to 20 miles or less, what are you thoughts on Jigging with slow jigs? I like artificial baits but also do live/fresh caught baits as well. thanks again Brad, Tom
Hi Guys. Nice video. Very informative. I've been wanting to get out to the bay for a long time and hopefully will do that soon. Thanks for the indepth knowledge and tips. Trust me I'm taking notes. First time on the channel. Going to check out more of your channel. Tight lines......
Great video! Just moved out to Ruskin/Riverview area about a year ago. Been fishing from the shore but haven’t had much luck yet. Any tips I should be aware of?
If you want to target inshore fish like snook, redfish and trout, fish as if you were bass fishing they setup in similar spots and react to similar baits!
There’s no reason why it wouldn’t, focus on the slower moving tides and I would try to chum up current from the bridge so that the chum falls to the bottom around the bridge.
How long do you usually fish your spots for snapper before moving to a different one? And if you’re getting a bunch of shorts/small ones, would you still move off of it to find bigger 12+” fish?
Are those circle hooks? I understand if you don’t want to give up the spot but as a first timer I would appreciate a hint to try for location. Are you out past the islands towards to gulf? The area is very intimidating to start. Really appreciate the videos!
Please tell me this was a recent video. If not, is there any fish left due to the red tide? Vacation planned to the bay in September and can’t decide if I should cancel. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
red tide is completely gone out of the bay i go out almost every day and catch a limit of snapper the red tide didn’t last to long but the dead fish did all gone now tho so definitely don’t cancel that vacation lol
that was nice to meet you at the ramp and the younger fella . You gave me a good tip how to put a boat in the trailer in up current thank you ,you are doing a good job
I'm an easy coast fisherman. Never fish West Coast. How far you go. Any Knowledge to change my fishing adventure will Appreciate. Have a GW 22.8 G 1996 250 Suzuki Thanks for your knowledge
can we sleep overnight in the small RV at sKyway pier?I've heard Tampa bay w/ red tide for last 2 years an the fertilizer factory dumping toxic waste has ruined the bay for fishing. it's killed saw grass/ mamals/birds turtles fish all marine life.
Yes you can sleep on the skyway pier in a small RV as far as I know and have seen but as far as the health of the bay goes it is surprisingly good despite everything it has been through in the last few years. Grass did seem to be affected a little but there is some still there and plenty of life.
We are Bad fish charters, you can contact us through badfishtampa.com or my phone number at 8636407036 and we can discuss prices/scheduling, we’d be happy to get you out!
You can usually catch your 5 fish limit in the bay year round but the size of them will vary from season to season and yes there are snapper around the skyway bridge.
We're can I throw ( Ramp ) the boat to start for the Easiest way to get to a good place to start try my luck. Yes!!! Mangrove Write and Read 😂😂😂 They go to College.
I would just launch in Tampa bay at the ramp closest to you and focus on the edges of the shipping channels, I personally put in at cockroach bay in Ruskin.
Perfect video on technique, rig, location, weather, tide. Make em like this every time. Thanks!
Thanks buddy, we’re gonna keep them coming!
one of THE BEST snapper in tampa bay vids. Very very grateful.
You are a really good teacher. Thanks for the vid.
I really like the format of this video - very informative! Keep 'em coming!
Great video...super informative as to how you set-up, how you're chumming, how youre fishing, etc...

Excellent channel to watch you guys are teaching people not hiding any secrets way to go love you a channel
That area looks like east of the Skyway bridge towards the old Port ( if the Skyway Bridge is the one on the back, in front of the boat).
What a great video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Appreciate it man let’s get together sometime and fish!
great video especially for a guy learning the bay and gulf fishing vs atlantic ocean.
This is maybe the best content I have seen yet! Thank you
Your very welcome!
Awesome video man thank you! Really helpful for a new snapper/grouper angler like myself
WOW, now that's some great looking snapper my friend. Really appreciated your tips and the way you chummed. Steve

I really don’t fish artificial for snapper and grouper to much I usually stick to a lot of dead bait.
Great video! Quick question, do you chum differently with faster and slower tides to get your chum where you want it ?
We continue the same chum pace we just throw the chum forward of where we want it to go down depending on the amount of current!
First time watching, well put together
Thanks man!

@@badfishtv3813 awesome, thanks for the tips!
Great video, Shannon. When targeting grouper, TBFC uses 10lb braid and 20lb flouro leader. What are your thoughts on going heavier vs lighter?
Experiment with the leader size depending on how they’re eating I go with as heavy as I can get away with and still get the bite for the grouper .
@@badfishtv3813 Thank you.
Dope video bro, Very informative. Were you North or South of Skyway?
Thanks man north of the skyway!
@@badfishtv3813 Thanks for the reply . I figured that was the eggmont channel just wasn’t sure! Much appreciated!
Ruskin FL????, YEEAAAHHHH!!!!, this is the Man!!!!
Hey man awesome videos ....what Parker are you running? Good set up for the area
Thank you and it’s a 2016 2300t big bay.
Thanks friend from someone who really needs ur help 😊
What depth water were you fishing
Will this chum & handline technique work fishing off the Skyway piers?
There’s no reason why it wouldn’t, focus on the slower moving tides and I would try to chum up current from the bridge so that the chum falls to the bottom around the bridge.
Good stuff! Are you east or west of the Skyway?
East!
Nice job Captain.
How long do you usually fish your spots for snapper before moving to a different one? And if you’re getting a bunch of shorts/small ones, would you still move off of it to find bigger 12+” fish?
I usually fish about 15 minutes and if I’m not getting them I move and if there all small I give it about a half hour then I move.
Awesome video 📹 captain
Thank you!
Notice that you are respectfully refered to as " captain" :)
Can you just go to any spot of the channel/edge of channel? Or do you have to mark them.
Are those circle hooks? I understand if you don’t want to give up the spot but as a first timer I would appreciate a hint to try for location. Are you out past the islands towards to gulf? The area is very intimidating to start. Really appreciate the videos!
Yes they are circle hooks. A good place to start is the shipping channel around the skyway and work your way into the bay.
@@badfishtv3813 thank you. Head towards the gulf from the skyway or east?
Awesome. Can’t watch enough. What’s your snapper rig and hook sizes for the grouper and snapper rigs? Thank you for taking time to respond.
My hook size for the snapper is a 1/O owner circle hook and my grouper hooks are 6/O heavy owner circles.
@@badfishtv3813 you were catching those keeper snapper on 1/0's?
I never use smaller than 2/0, maybe I need to try a size down.
Thanks for the videos!
Please tell me this was a recent video. If not, is there any fish left due to the red tide? Vacation planned to the bay in September and can’t decide if I should cancel. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Yes this video was filmed 3 days before it was posted and the bay is on fire right now, check out my recent pictures on Instagram @badfishtampa
@@badfishtv3813 that is great news!! I’ll definitely check out your Instagram.
red tide is completely gone out of the bay i go out almost every day and catch a limit of snapper the red tide didn’t last to long but the dead fish did all gone now tho so definitely don’t cancel that vacation lol
Heavy or Med Heavy rod? (Great video- I appreciate the insight)
I would use medium heavy for snapper.
I appreciate the great information. Thanks.
Looking forward to fishing with you this Friday! My brother booked a trip with you!
Yea buddy me too
Does it matter on the time of day for snapper
Great Video Capt.
Thank you guys!

Yes we will get a video out on that soon, thank you!
I'm an easy coast fisherman. Never fish West Coast. How far you go. Any Knowledge to change my fishing adventure will Appreciate. Have a GW 22.8 G 1996 250 Suzuki
Thanks for your knowledge
All the fish that we catch are inside Tampa bay in less than 15 feet of water so you don’t have to go far.
Sounds awesome
I have A GW 22.8" 250 Df not worry in going deep offshore if I can put fish to eat and save $$ I'm in. 🤔🤔🤔🎣🐟❤️
lol ... Thanks for the beard tip!
Nice job my friend 👍

What's the best months to do snapper and grouper fishing in Tampa?
For snapper and grouper at the same time I like September and October and the boat is a Parker big bay 2300t
@Badfish TV thanks for the reply, good video!
Also what boat is that?
can you ellgally catch the 5mangrove snapper year round in tampa? where where you under the sky bridge?
You can usually catch your 5 fish limit in the bay year round but the size of them will vary from season to season and yes there are snapper around the skyway bridge.
Step 1: Be the only 9% of people in Florida who own a boat.
Great tips Capt!
Thanks buddy, hope it helps!
Is that eggmont key ?
Looks like an offset hook, in Gulf waters, for reef fish at 15:13...
Dude awesome awesome vid ty
Amazing video, thanks brother 👍🏼🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for video bro
How's the red tide in Tampa Bay now? I'm happy to see you catching fish instead of floating dead ones!
Hard to believe after everything but it’s beautiful and the bite has been 🔥 !
@@badfishtv3813 I hope they're safe to eat. That spill in Bradentucky is not good for us to eat I'm sure.
as a guide do you get upset if amature guys book you and then try some of the spots you use on their own gear ?
Nice snapper brother
Messaged you guys to go bait fishing. Ready to learn. Lol
How deep do you need to be for this? How deep was the ledge?
This was in 15 feet of water
What rods are you using?
Bull bay assault 7’10” medium heavy
What's the material called on the floor of that sick boat u have💪👌
Safefloor Florida LLC in Ruskin.
I experienced the beard zip up for the first time recently and it's not cool. Lol.
how do i do this in tampa st pete area from shoreline?
I would just chum and drift your bait with the current the same way we did from the boat.
NIce Mangs in Tampa And Super Nice in Miami.!! in the Bay, Black Point,
What type of rods u have?
Bull bay assaults.
Thank you !
Clean/cook?
Coming soon!

"We catch 20#-30# Red Snapper South of FreshWater Bayou off of Louisiana using this " No Weight and Bare Hook Method! WOW!😂
Livin' the dream, Boys!!!
Why grouper is not keeper?
He was to short.
If they are there it won't matter if it doesn't look natural, they are not that picky.
