the most crystal clear coaching ever. finally i can do transition after 2 hours non-stop practising, follow exactly step-by-step, the weight shifting, the head, the shoulder, the feet, as long as i follow everything, i'm good. keep it going & thank you..

I'm going tonight. Fractured tailbone and ulnar nerve damage can be quiet for a while. Bad fall on old skates with no upkeep. Lesson learned hard way. Anyway, have been binging on skating videos and you're the best. The others seem sweet and good people, but I can't concentrate on what's happening. TBI, as well as musician and tone, dynamics, mechanics all come into play. Your squeaks barely noticed but the street sounds weren't pleasant. Prolly won't do outside skating because of that. Anyway, my best friend is from California and it's her little granddaughter who I'm treating. She is 9 and in remission. She was allowed to pick her activity so I had to step up. You've helped so much, I just don't have the right words to express my gratitude. If I get to make the California trip, I've promised myself a visit to your rink. SC is ONLY a gazillion miles away huh? Take care and we be watching. Will let you know how tonight goes. Nofalldown nofalldown nofalldown

Dirty Deb, your instruction is excellent. Very clear, detailed, technical. A lot of us actually like that type of instruction - because if we pay attention and practice, we can then explain it to our kids and friends. I would generally recommend your instruction for inline skaters, too, so long as they take into account the differences between quads and inlines. (Even the toe stop isn't a huge issue when you have artistic inline skates, which likewise have some sort of stopper in the front. ; )
In our inline community, it's been tougher on average finding detailed, technical videos tutorials like this. Inline skating instructor Asha Kirby of Skatefresh teaches like you do; but she has to charge for most of her content, because that's probably her main or sole livelihood. I can respect that. When I have the money, I do what I can to support folks like you and her. = )

Thank you so much for this comment. I struggle with my videos every time I make them because I know that I will go long to explain the details. Alas I remain committed to the full video.

Literally went to my first lesson with a derby team today after exercising off skates and practising swizzles (in my kitchen) like you recommended a while ago. Also got my own skates which made A HUGE difference. So happy and nailed my transitions. Slowly working towards 27/5 (got 14 today which is a huge improvement considering I couldn't stand a few weeks ago). Point is... THANK YOU.

I practiced for hours, and after watching this video realized my shoulder was my issue! Practiced keeping my shoulder closed and got it instantly! You're such a good teacher and the way you explain how to properly hold your body while skating is so helpful! Love your videos❤

I just recently purchased new skates. I used to go skating EVERY Sunday-& I haven’t been skating in over 20 years now. I have a long carport at my home that I’ve been using to get reacquainted. The best advice I can give is to act like the skates are an extension of your feet, and become 1 with them.

For those who can do all the steps but struggle with the “toe to toe” step, you might have missed this part of the video:
When you do heel to heel bit, you do it by putting the weight on the FRONT/TOE of the skate you are moving and then maneuvering it 3:01. But when you do the toe to toe part, you shift your weight to the skate you just moved, and with the weight left on the other foot, put it on THE BACK/HEEL of the skate in order to maneuver it smoothly 3:28.

I will definitely use this when I get the chance!!! I love how people explain things to me by describing the feeling, what you should think, and little baby steps to then put it all together!!! Great work thank you!! ♡♡
