      Yes it is very hard, I just started to roller skate and I tried hundred time all resulting in me almost falling and not be able to pull it off. In my opinion, you need to have an almost flawless balance and more confidence than I do have right now lol

      Sometimes it’s about working certain muscles till your body can unlock the next move
      Taking breaks in between is also important to heal
      I’ve been skating like 3 years now and I just unlocked the use of my non dominant side after not skating for the winter

    • @quitegoodandawesome5964
      @quitegoodandawesome5964 3 роки тому +7

      I’m a beginner, but something that’s helping me, is actually leaning my body to the outside edge I want to work on. I mean full on lean with airplane arms out and tipped toward my foot’s outside edge. It forces my weight down towards that edge, which is getting my foot used to actually being on it. I hope that makes sense. 😂

    Thank you. I used to skate more than 35 yrs ago but never learned the transitions. I didnt know how to call it. I used to aim at transitioning to backwards by jumping & gliding (in a curved path) but I never learned. I hope I can still skate at 56 yrs old. I was inspired to dream of skating again after watching the couple at the beijing winter olympics.

    A big difference to why it might not be as easy for some ppl is the type of skates you have, when it comes to roller skates they’re built for different things like figure skates which are made with sharp edged wheels to help you balance and have they have ankle supports to do cutesy turns etc,
    Then there’s speed skates which are made for skating fast around rinks etc which have round edged wheels to help lean to the side your skating on,
    so if ur having trouble it might be your skates that are making it a bit more difficult 👍

    • @groovyrollerskate8833

    Girl you are so graceful but if your number 1 is the simplest one i have a lot to learn, cant seem to get my feet to talk each other yet the left has not clue what the right is doing. I will finish watching this video, but might have to set out and practice these moves later once i have a better relationship with gravity.

    Thankyou for teaching all of us girl! I like seeing a POC skate channel on UA-cam, it’s a lot of white skater channels out here

    Hey girl!! These are super helpful. I can do transitions pretty easily when I'm rolling slowly, however when I have a lot of speed, I'm kinda scared to do them or i feel like I'm going to lose my balance doing them (too much G-force?? lolll). Which ones do you recommend as easier transitions to do when you're going fast?? Is it just preference? Would love to know what u think!!

    • @groovyrollerskate8833
      @groovyrollerskate8833  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for sharing!! I'd have to say that the flowy one that i mentioned is best when going at a faster speed because of the pace of the transition it will shift the weight very quickly helping you regain balance. I know exactly what you mean sometime im going too fast to transition it can be scary haha

    Dude, I’ve been skating for months, learning all sorts of new tricks yet still struggling to do anything but a heel transition. After explaining the posture thing I paused the video, tried it out, and I can literally transition now, WOW
