    STING:
In the seventies and eighties Sting was a world-famous singer, songwriter and front man of British pop trio The Police. After the group split up it soon became apparent that Sting's musical quest went much further than most could have foreseen.
With his debut album, 1985's ;The Dream Of The Blue Turtles;, he immediately demonstrated his preference for jazz. Together with, among others, the very young saxophonist Branford Marsalis he amazed the world. In subsequent years all jazz greats have played with the now 72-year-old Sting. These past years he has toured all over the world with his Back To Bass tour. His band includes guitarist Dominic Miller, with whom he has worked for many years, as well as top drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, whom we know from Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and Frank Zappa, among others.

Branford on soprano, his Baroque romances, utterly hypnotic. Bill Trimble loved your sound, Branford.

LOVE this song! Hated they cut Branford's solo out, plus the og Branford fadeout ending. But Sting & Branford are magic together

Sting,💪💪💪👍🤞❤Sting is very good. “Saxophone performer” is very bad, there is no need to impose your playing, different from the solo.

What a dipshit remark. Sting chose to have Branford join him - apprently you know Sting's music better than he does?

@@maxi-hildebrandtThat sounds right. Marsalis isn't imposing anything, he's complementing Sting's performance. It says more than enough that Sting knew Marsalis's style and sound, and freely chose him to be a member of the band.
For what it's worth, recently I've been listening to a performance in which Marsalis plays with the rock band, the Grateful Dead. His contribution is a bit unusual because The Dead almost never have a visiting saxophonist. However, he fits right in and complements The Dead quite well. (He was the opening act. One member of the Dead knew his music well enough to suggest he play during a song in the first set. They all liked the contribution well enough that Marsalis played the entire second set, too. The music of that concert, including Marsalis, was stellar.)

Dude, that's the original saxophone player on this song 😂 He's got a couple grammies and is one of the most well known jazz saxophonists alive
