My parents took me to see Sting in concert at the end of the 80s. I was maybe 8. When he sand this song, the lights, the crowd, the beauty of his voice... Unforgettable.
Wasn't born in the 80s (I know it wasn't the best time), but man it would've been nice to go to a Sting concert around that time. His music's + The Police is just so good
I've seen Sting on stage only once.. in his production of The Last Ship a musical he wrote, directed and starred in, a few years ago. Very interesting and impressive, but I would love to have seen/heard him in his younger years.
They just don't make music like this anymore. I'm only 18 but I can remember my parents playing sting when I was a child and thank god! Because now I appreciate good music!
Çisem Usta, don't feel sorry. My parents listen to shitty music, but I managed to listen to good one like this. Kids these days can pretty much be autodidact, they can find good music to listen all by themselves.
But people teach them shitty music as good music. They don't have too many options to choose in that way. I mean, I saw lots of people who think Lovefool is JB's song, not The Cardigans...
I agree with Jurek009. "Love Me" is not JB's song either. It was originally written by Natalie Burke, if I remember correctly and it was used in the sims 2 game. Nobody told me that. I found out all by myself. The conclusion is you don't have to listen to the shitty music people teach you to!

I suffered bullying for 7 years and this song accompanied me. I repeated to myself before going to school be yourself no matter what they said. They are really wise and strong words that you have to reach a very low point in your life to understand. if I did that in front of my enemies. when I could but I followed the advice of this song I ignored their comments and passed by them smiling like a true gentleman THANK YOU STING
I remember listening to this song when I used to live in Finland. All my friends had it memorized and would ask me what he meant with each line. And all I could think was... "I only remember the chorus" :) but after a year of people asking i had the whole song down. Such a good song.

Yes, because they used proper bloody instruments. Most songs suck now because musicality has been lost. it's only the obscure bands that are actually good, like Kaleo.

No, I’m not here. 😂

Yes. When I was young and this song came out I couldn't appreciate the lyrics like now because being born and raised in Germany I had no notion of the underlying message of the song. Loved the music but today I love this song even more for what it represents.

I used to listen to this song when I was single mother with a baby with no house. We went from house to house. But sometimes I put on this song and I would dance around the room with my daughter and forget everything. She would smile whole the song. We would laugh so much. This song remembers me that I need nothing but love to be happy. Its a feeling. ❤️

His music's + The Police is just so good
Hello ✋
I was born in 90 and never got to see him live. You're making me jealous.
I've seen Sting on stage only once.. in his production of The Last Ship a musical he wrote, directed and starred in, a few years ago.
Very interesting and impressive, but I would love to have seen/heard him in his younger years.
@Stella nice story and well parents, take care of her daughters taste ;)
There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them
Ok
Are u the same guy from message in a bottle? Coz same bro lol
What a beautiful and nostalgic song!
Old song, but still a GREAT ONE!!!! 😊❤.... And that's right: be yourself, no matter what they say! 💪
"be yourself no matter what they say"
you're right
They just don't make music like this anymore. I'm only 18 but I can remember my parents playing sting when I was a child and thank god! Because now I appreciate good music!
Same with my 26-years-old brother. I feel sorry about who doesn't have anybody to show them those songs.
Çisem Usta Bull. There are plenty of options. You have the internet, therefore no excuse not to explore different artists.
I agree with Jurek009. "Love Me" is not JB's song either. It was originally written by Natalie Burke, if I remember correctly and it was used in the sims 2 game. Nobody told me that. I found out all by myself. The conclusion is you don't have to listen to the shitty music people teach you to!
be yourself no matter what they say

Does anyone else think that Sting has an almost mystical sound to most of his songs. Something about his voice just sounds so smooth.
Yeah, something otherworldly about his voice, definitely.
Agreed, he deals with deep issues on a large scale, which creates deep sounding music.
Yee-yeah.He's a poet, who also sings, plays a mean Bass guitar.
He's my favorite musician since the 80's.😎
Very true
I never heard this song until Tom Aspinall walked out to this song tonight for his UFC fight i had to look it up
Quality then and now x❤
I suffered bullying for 7 years and this song accompanied me. I repeated to myself before going to school be yourself no matter what they said. They are really wise and strong words that you have to reach a very low point in your life to understand. if I did that in front of my enemies. when I could but I followed the advice of this song I ignored their comments and passed by them smiling like a true gentleman THANK YOU STING
Now you stand tall with your head held high, with dignity and hopefully feeling better
You know who the song is about right & what he suffered in his life? The guy is actually in the film.
