Just bought a GO. This video was very informative. Thanks from a newbie to handhelds. Makes such a big difference in AAA games. Im loving my Lego even more thanks to you. I passed on the ally x due to Vrr causing flicker on oled moniters and oled Tv's when outputting the signal. Now i know why Asus didnt go with an oled screen. Anyways that 8.8 screen rocks with the info you gave. Thanks Cyber Dope!
got the ally x for 3 mos now and its been great. it's my new pc because i use it docked 80% of the time. plus i can carry it on the go anytime anywhere
i got a legion go and i was a typical console gamer so i didnt have much knowledge about those things but thanks to your video i start to learn about those things. great video =)
Honestly bro this content is hands down so helpful. Thank you for explaining everything thoroughly it was actually easy to understand what you were talking about. Keep it up!
@@tapsofosiris3110 Not really worth waiting as the prediction is only 26% faster at a higher cost, 26% sounds like a lot extra but reality it could be as little as 3fps or as high as 15fps but the funny thing is only the games that are less intense will see the biggest increase. So if your playing AAA games it's not going to be night and day. Besides thanks to the stream deck and industry incoming industry changes more games are getting made to support handhelds. This was amazing actually. Explained really clearly. Halfway in I went and optimized Elden Ring. Looks much better now while still playing at the same level it was before. Subbed for sure!
Thank you so much. I just got a legion go over the weekend and this helps explain everything. You gained a subscriber as well, I have a feeling you going to continue to grow on YT, like your vibe man👍
Nice video! My suggestion is that you could put some logos or something on the screen while you are talking about those things, cause they all sound too similar. Also maybe a chart with yours conclusions and stuff
One suggestion is to have your videos to have a consistent look or logo. So that whenever you have a new video, one can recognise that it’s from you. For example I didn’t know this was your video until I played it. Hope it makes sense

Hi CyberD. May be you should have spoken of all this features in relation with the resolution of the handheld. If I play a game at 800p in game and the handheld resolution is also 800p, it seems useless to scale anything. There aren’t enough videos that explain well the relation betweeen the two resolutions, so this may be considered as a proposition for you ;)
RSR is FSR 1.0. You could've also explained how it should work. Toggling RSR on or off is only half that. After toggling it on you must run the game at a lower than native resolution for it to kick in. The beauty of RSR is it works on all DX11 games that can run on fullscreen.
Good info, nice to see someone pushing out rog info. Been loving my rog ally X cosy gaming... you did say call you out on some stuff haha so here i am...some of the settings ive found that you mentioned just give flat out worse peformance such as radeon boost, looks and feels horrible. Im nitpicking, its still good info and more testing is needed for sure. I just moved over from a nvidia card myself so a lot of these options are different and the set up. Csnt wait for official fliud motion 2 drivers, dont really want to sideload also :)
Well done dude, been watching your videos for a while now and I am glad that you have made it this far. This video was well put together and straight forward. Something you can do better is not to forget the outro LOL jk.
Great video and congratx on the sponsor, you totally worth it! My thought on scaling in general is that its quite overrated, I don't feel the technology have come so far its worth to use it. Like I rather play native version with like 40 fps than 60+70 FSR. It just feel weird, can't explain it, something just odd. Also I think many "new" handheld owners would appreciate how to actual apply FSR for example like do I choose Borderless or fullscreen? Do I use 640p then set my upscaling to 1080p? How do I even do that? it's those details even me who have used handhelds for years still struggling. Hyper RX does not work great for me... :(
I have never gamed on pc. Now we have portable pc gaming I’m hoping in head first. This is a good tutorial, I hope you expound on this for gaming specifically, maybe throw in add ons for enhanced gaming.
i also tried afmf that came with the ally x, used it extensively before deciding that Lossless scaling is so much better. plus lossless scaling has its own framegen now. its so good so much better than afmf.
Better than AFMF 1 yeah, but lossless scaling has visible artifacts especially around characters, I couldn't stand it on Hogwarts Legacy fir example and turned it off. Hopefully AFMF 2 is better.
Solid work on the video. Out of all of your subscribers, and I know it's a long shot, but have you or can you make a video that talks about the potential longevity of the ROG Ally X? I know you do a lot of handheld stuff, but I often go between your vids as well as others and I just wish there was a video of multiple people covering the topic of Ally X vs 4050 or 4060 laptop. Dear Streamer, Hello! I’d like to ask you something. I’m using an ROG Ally X, and after the most recent BO6 update, my device’s performance has significantly dropped! The most noticeable issue occurs while playing the “Gold Rush” battle royale series. My frame rate is stuck at 60 FPS, and when I unplug the power, it drops to 40-50 FPS. Even when I lower all the settings to the minimum, the performance remains the same. I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with my device or if Activision has adjusted some parameters in the game during this update. Thank you!

720P with RIS is how I use my ROG Ally for all games.
Hey do you sell cars for your job? Sales at a dealership?
Unfortunately Windows isn’t the best OS for gaming on lower end devices. The best OS I’ve found for gaming on the Legion Go is Linux via Bazzite OS
No FSR frame generation, no mods, no EAC = no thanks.
If these deficits are ever resolved, I’ll switch in a heartbeat.
