Man, I cannot imagine the pain of dragging yourself over rocks for 4 days with a shattered pelvis and ruptured pancreas- watching this actor made my skin crawl, he did a good job. I'm sure in reality the screams and all were even worse, tough kid. I'm glad he made it, he's really lucky someone finally found him.

I use this as a tool to combat feelings that I don't want to live anymore.
I'm diagnosed with a mental illness with a 10% suicide rate, so if I've felt this way my whole life it'll probably continue... realizing I can be grateful for the simplest things is the blessing I need.
I'm low-key terrified that I'll have to be paralyzed to be able to live suicidality free.

Ugh. I could feel this one in my bones. I fractured my clavicle when I was little, and I could barely move after that. Having to drag through terrain, water and up a steep hillside with far greater injuries I can scarcely imagine. I have to remind myself that, although I am sleep deprived, headache prone, and emotionally drained, I can still make it to the other side of the trailer in no time to reposition my elderly mom every two to three hours, non-stop. I have food, water and shelter. I also have faith. I'm doing pretty good. Jordan's a superhero, especially now that he's reconnected with his family, not allowing one drop of life to go to waste.

I love to hike alone, in nature away from others. But I always ALWAYS tell someone, like my mom, where I am, which route I plan on and when I expect to be back. Just in case something bad happens, then she knows to call for help if she doesn't hear from me. And I bring a phone, a powerbank, snacks, water/juice/tea, a whistle and a first aid kit (with two of those metallic light weight blankets to keep you warm), and always extra clothes/layers (I hike in Northern Finland/Lapland during winter, it goes down to -33°C/-27.4°F sometimes - those temperatures can kill ... and fast!)

Q: Why would you go up there? A: He wanted the "SHOT". Not dead, but more than just broken. I survived an 80mph+ dirtbike wreck with no PPE or helmet. My body was like raw hamburger from head to toe. Slid for like 20 feet on the blacktop, stayed on the bike as it was my only HOPE for survival, then hit a curb with both tires simultaneously. Both tires blew-out on the KLX250S upon impact, rear rim was bent. Got ejected over 100ft in the air and landed upside down on my r/shoulder and face. Passer by came check on me and said he saw a body fly straight up in the air. I landed upside down on a sixty degree embankment. Spent 3 weeks in the hospital trying to learn how to walk again. Doc said if you want to leave, you have to show me you can walk. Luckily I had zero broken bones. But I swore my hip joint was ripped. Had I kept the bike upright and drove straight into the curb I'd hit the sixty degree embankment at 80+mph, there's no way a human would survive such impact. My split-second thought was to lay the bike down, stay on it and make both tires take the impact on the curb. I flew so high I had enough time to check my body/limbs/etc and seriously believed the accident was over and that I'm walking out of this ALIVE. Then suddenly the most excruciating pain I ever felt in my life arrived when I landed upside down in the dirt, two feet away from a giant boulder.

I have seen this episode a while back and now as time passed and this episode is here again. I have a different outlook the young man who portrayed Jordan did an excellent job. Jordan's perspective on life has changed and it teaches all of us that we should not give up. We all have the spirit of toughness to get through all the challenges that come our way. Jordan's angel was looking out for him and kept him going. I am glad Jordan survived and I am happy the girl turned around and found him. Those hikers should be commended for what they had done for Jordan. So, stay safe, warm/cool, and blessings.

That's because it doesn't make much of an episode if the person doesn't suffer horribly and come close to death- so those are the only stories they tell. In reality the vast majority of ppl never have any problems, and if they do- it gets handled without much drama.

Amazing feat to want to survive. As a woman without much upper body strength, I’d not make it, but then again as a woman it’s unlikely I’d go to such terrain on my own. But I have hiked in the Sinai desert on steep and dangerous paths, but we were a group of people. We hiked for hours every day, we had lots of water and beduins and camels w food. But those didn’t climb up, as it was too steep for the camels. It was an amazing trip. But we didn’t climb cliffs and no rock climbing, just mountain rocky paths.

the more I watch these survival stories the more I picture myself in similar positions. It gets me wondering how I would put my survival skills to the test. But in all honesty these could end faster if you just follow the simple steps. Keep cellphone with you, carry emergency supplies, get a sense of direction, and most importantly don't be stupid
