By far the most important aspect of the game is the control scheme, you can't simply point and click as you would in Warthunder, you need to slew the gun in a way that a tank gunner would realistically be able to do. I've read on the discord that a joystick is actually pretty useful for controlling turret movements, I think someone even rigged up their surplus M1 gunner joysticks to work with the game somehow.

I just wish the developers would come out with a WW2 version. I had the tank sim, Tiger vs T34 and it was great. WW2 had tons of different tanks. Modern times not so much.
3BM20 is essentially just 3BM15 scaled down to the 100mm gun of the T-55. it's slower and smaller owing to the less powerful gun, and thus for obvious reasons it is less powerful
The game needs gameplay that is not just missions you can cook up in an editor in 5 minutes. Are there any details of how the expanded campaign will look like? If it's all just randomly generated content I think there's going to be a major issue with the game getting stale fast. + no object destruction, little difference in terrain (i know it's fulda but atleast add the outskirts of Frankfurt or even a counterattack into east germany or something). Lots of work ahead of the team and I worry they might get burned out just adding vehicles to appease the playerbase.
After the bundeswehr gets added i think that they are going to work on the stuff you just pointed out. The game has a strict timeline (1985) with a strict historical accuracy, so there arent going to be that much vehicles added.
Looks like a good start to a great game. One thing I don’t like… the thing about always having laser pointers and range finders you kept going on about. Really hope they add more with out those things. Just like sniping you learn as you go and refine your eyes to drop and range
Many of the vehicles lack laser rangefinders, and some have interesting manual rangefinding equipment. Playing T-55, T-62, T-64A, or M60A1 RISE (P) is a bit of a skill test. Also if you really don't want to use easy mode the Abrams and M60A3 TTS have backup sights with standard ballistic drop marks.
The laser range finders are a little more tricky than they immediately appear. They can also get damaged and knocked out unexpectedly. You should definitely still give it a try.

It’s been two years and we still don’t have troops. Meanwhile Steel Beasts is infinitely more complex, tons of maps, fully modelled vehicles and crew stations. Much larger and longer missions and is created by a company that uses it’s software to train real world military tank crews. It continues to grow and expand. Nothing wrong with Gunner Heat PC for quick tank blasting but I see too many people confusing this as the “most realistic tank sim”. It’s just not even close.
