I love this game. Don't forget you can use the whole map. Sometimes you have to hit certain locations, but outside of that, you can alter your route to flank or use terrain as cover. I can't wait for them to add co-op and multiplayer.
For the emergency reticle, you are supposed to use the scale at the top of the sight to estimate the range then you match the number with the corresponding crosshair extremely difficult to do at night though 🍻
Id say usually in night missions you can use the flares, if you're far enough you could even still be hidden in the dark, so it's not too much of a bother
yo man, don't know if you'll see this, but hitting 'i' while looking through the backup sight turns on the illumination, that'll make it way easier to use at nighttime
Oh man, this is my favourite tank game, I have been following it since before its Steam launch. The devs never fail to deliver, and I am still extremely hyped for the Bundeswehr update. Unfortunately that one is one of the last in the roadmap, so gotta wait before the 2A4 is added, which happens the be the tank I love the most. Pretty cool to see you playing it again
I love the game purely because of the voice lines. At one moment your TC can be completely calm. The next thing, he is screaming and kicking at you when the s*t hits the fan. Especially the voice lines like "Oh God! He is aiming right at us!" or "KILL HIM!" You really feel like you are in a armoured fight
Panzerpaw I think you should try commanding a tank in squad, the game requires immense teamwork with different assets. You must control a tank crew consisting of real players to fight both enemy infantry and armor. You should give it a try, I’d love to see it :)
I’ve just had a fun War Thunder challenge idea - not a multi-vehicle one, but just bringing the RBT-5 up to either top tier or Tigers and Panthers, and ramming enemies, before firing the rockets point blank. It can kill almost everything in the game, I think, as long as it isn’t too low to the ground.
"It didn't do much... You can see it went through the fuel tank, and some of the ammo..." "and some of the ammo" *_AND SOME OF THE AMMO_* If this were a video comment, this would be where I insert stock footage of a violent explosion with the audio amplified so much it completely clips out, color correct everything red, and make the image shake all over the screen.
Somehow I managed to complete the "Longer road" mission, first try. I'm pretty sure that's because A: I play way too much war thunder, so I'm used to ranging without a working FCS. And B: because I flanked them. By the way, even if you don't get hit at all, your thermals in the first abrams break, and a little while after, the entire FCS does too. Definitely one of the cooler GHPC missions, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
1:57 the human eye (ignoring differences in eyesight, just in general) can detect differences as small as 0.1mm, now 1mm, 0.1. Under the right conditions its possible to see an amoeba with the naked eye. I love early technology that basically hacked your brain instead of relying on computers. fun fact human fingers can sense a difference in height on a 'flat' surface as small as 40μm (micrometers) which is half the width of a human hair.
@@thatussrmainwt3899 Spoiler for the Longer Road mission: Basically a platoon of T64s (Don't remember if it was T64As or Bs) show up at the end. Pretty sure they're soviet ones. So for now, that's what we'll be getting with the soviet faction. Like the T72m1s that were already ingame, they don't have thermals. But they do get a better sabot - 3BM32 I believe.
The parallax rangefinder seems much better than the stadia sights, I have had horrible luck with those in steel beasts on just about every vehicle I've tried it with lol
Well stadiametric came first (for tanks) than coincidence. Nowadays, you generally see Stadiametric because its simple, small and weighs nothing as its intended as back up sight. Coincidence(and stereoscopic but was never used on tanks) is a long tube that goes along the entire width of the tank. So its only used as a primary sight which laser rangefinders is superior at.
Commander:- FIN TANK ON Gunner:- ON! Loader:- LOADED (pulling the gun shield across) Gunner :-LASING, FIRING NOW!.... (watches fall of shot) TARGET! Commander:- Target stop, HESH BMP on. Gunner:- ON!
you kept asking if the tanks you shot are dead like 20 times, tip: if your commander says "re-engage" it means they can't confirm the kill, meaning it's not dead and you should keep dumping rounds in it
True but sometimes they'll call "re-engage" only to change it to "next target" because the enemy tanks took a second to 'die'. So I started to just manually confirm the kill myself
Congratulations on reaching over 40K , You've become one of the most entertsining channels ive seen in a while with your weird goofyness! Hope to see you reach a 100K soon!
Has anyone ripped voice lines from Fury and modded them into this game yet? Not the right era but would be interesting to have a celebrity voice cast for the tank crew in the game.
İf you have a colleagues playing warthunder, bring them and create semi platoon, it would be interesting. And I definitely leave you alone with leopard, I place my trust with you but I don't think I leave single m60's single screw with you😁 For Pattons m46 to all the way to the M60A3; their tactics similar to T-55 than leopard series tanks, they are MOBA game towers, they cant retreat, they can't fall-back, always front maybe sidelines, because Patton series are line tanks, they need to be hold, 105mm m68 has a better performance on light targets than heavy ones so saturation is a must.
It won't be. The dev teams do a really good job of road mapping and they have really good dev streams. They said this game will be 100% 1985 in the Fulda Gap and nothing else. They said when they feel they've fully fleshed out the game, then they will eventually move onto other environments and periods in history, either as a DLC or as a separate stand alone game.
ngl would be cool if you replayed the game since the soviets are in the game with new tanks such as the t80 an t64 and both the east germans and soviets have voiced crews
DCS is not like steel beasts... steel beasts is not meant for anyone to enjoy except actual soldiers. DCS is a good healthy mix between being a great sim but totally being learnable for anyone.
That's not how ranging actually worked in an M60A1. Ranging was the TC's job. Then there's battle sight. If they would implement the range finder as it truly was it could be far more accurate than it they have kludged it.
The computer is a mechanical device that ONLY adjusts the barrel elevation depending on the round input and the range input, it does not control firing the main gun nor would its loss prevent the main gun from firing. Losing the ballistic computer wouldn't be that big of a deal, it only slows the process a little as the commander would have to announce the range and the gunner would use the 105D GAS which has incremental ranges on the reticle. Losing stabilization doesn't prevent the turret from traversing it just means you have to fire from the short stop if you want any chance of hitting a target. This means the driver stops the tank when the fire command begins and starts moving out when the gun has fired WITHOUT being told to do so. Manually aiming is what we did. All the time. Even with a precise range the gunner had to remember to adjust placement of the reticle to compensate for the parallax error. For targets closer than bore-sight range it was up and right, for targets farther than b-s range it was lower and left.
Oops, M1s, my bad. It would depend on what parts of the FCS was down. The now digital computer would, to my understanding correct for parallax error but it being out only makes laying the gun more difficult, not impossible. Still might have to use the GAS and at night with no illumination it would be difficult to see a target before it shoots. If the turret hydraulics are out, manual traversing can be a real pain. If the whole GPS is out, battle sight with the GAS. LFR only? Then set battle sight and use the TI.
I am honestly annoyed with WT, not only are the tanks ridiculous prices but its the only tank game with a lot of MBT's from other countries, GHPC! is a very good game however only having an Abrams is a bit of a bummer (also WT Ground SB is stupid because you cant use the actual Gunner screens your just stuck to a dumb driver view and WW2 gunner scope) Not even mentioning the grind of WT as well.
Realistic in the sense that it has an authentic atmosphere and is based on reality. To answer your question, yes, the game does simulate ballistics, terminal effects and malfunctions.
I just don't see that much of a difference between this and DCS. Other talk simulators are way better in terms of fidelity. Red Orchestra 2 should be gold standart in this genre.Also. You don't even have to buy Steel Beasts, Steel Armor: Blaze of War is really good too. Even IL-2 is better. This thing feels really incomplete. I don't really see why i should stop playing War Thunder and choose this as this feels and work as arcadish as war thunder. Unless they introduce fully clickable cockpits and ability to leave vehicle and enter another one, this may end up as another bold try in tank sim world
The only thing I wasn’t thrilled with was the complete occlusion of the target by both muzzle blast and shell impacts. Obviously muzzle blast is expected. Though it feels like it lasts a bit too long. And a HEAT round kicking up a big plume of dirt on a miss is cool. But the target simply disappearing behind an amorphous blob on all hits isn’t a winner. I want to see the impact if I hit the enemy tank. Regardless of ammo type. To me it is a very important game effect that needs to take precedence over any claimed realism.
Well, the smoke and dust is realistic and it'd look weird without it. But you can actually see shell impacts pretty clearly on long range shots. But also from a gameplay standpoint, it makes it necessary to listen to the shot sensing calls to make adjustments (exactly how it's done on the real thing). Might not be everyone's preference but this is definitely a game going for authenticity.
I could actually live with the amount of dust and smoke generated by shooting, IF and only the AI didn't just see straight through it. I've gone through this experience so many times where I shot and the muzzle blast completely blocked my view of the target, meanwhile the AI I was shooting at acquired me through the smoke and landed a hit on me. Fun and engaging let me tell you
idk man this game seems too easy, there is no competition and AI too easy to kill, the mission with the abrams was interesting because it is obviously a challenge, but its still way too easy, if you have at least 2 neurons you can dodge everything and first shot kill everything War Thunder is still a better tank game because the competition is there and its hard, hence you improve your tanker skills in a way you dont improve anything in this game its just boring and uninteresting
