This was the simplest thing I've ever done and I just did an economy of like 200$ ... Thank you! That's really amazing!!! And way cooler than Loopedeck because at least you can customize everything. A game changer THANK YOU ! To anyone having issues, don't forget you need a PC for the first step (mapping the controller)
Brian, Sorry to bother you. First of all thank you for the time you have spent with the Midi2LR. I am having trouble downloading the pre setup files from your UA-cam site. Is there any way you could send me a new link?
Hi Brian. Thank you for this and the other 2 videos about setting up/using Midi2lr. I clicked the link yesterday to download your preset setup files and it says I need permission fro myou to access it. Can you please provide that permission for me and/or change the permission of that link for other users to gain access as well? We would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.
Hey Brian! Thank you for your tutorial but.. After the first time, when open LR I take the message: "An internal error has occurred. [string "Utilities.lua"]:55: table index is nil" and I cant open the Midi2LR app. Have any idea what is happening with the plug in?
Brian, I am ready to try out your profiles and order a new MIDI Controller. Will it work with the latest 8.0 edition of Lightroom and do I still have to map with a PC?
Sorry Stan, didn't see this. You only need to map with a PC if you plan on using two Behringer controllers because otherwise they'll both be on the same "channel" and communicate the exact same functions. If you're using a different MIDI controller or just one X-Touch Mini you should be fine. It will also work with the latest version of LR as long as you've got the latest MIDI2LR software.
Hi Brian. Thanks so much for your videos! They have helped tremendously. I am running into problems on a Mac with a few buttons. For example, when I try to use the SYNC, MATCH, AUTO, or BEFORE/AFTER buttons to name a few, MIDI2LR crashes. Do you know what the problem may be? I read something about the COMMAND option not working in MIDI2LR for a Mac, but could this be the problem? If so, does that mean I can't use these functions? Is there another way to get these functions to work without creating Keys? It would be great to be able to use the SYNC and MATCH options. Thanks!
daonei I actually just started running into this issue myself on my work computers... I need to figure out what's up. I will let you know what I dig up!
Hi Brian! Had another question. If I wanted to edit how you mapped some of the keys (for instance, changing crop angle to vignetting), would I just edit it on the MIDI2LR program that pops up with Lightroom and then press save and overwrite the BASIC_PANEL_XTOUCH_MASTIN.xml file in the MIDI2LR_X_Touch_Mini_Mapping_Files folder that is saved as a profile? If you have an update on that COMMAND option as well, it would be great to hear what you might have figured out. Thanks so much! Taking hours setting this up, but hope it works out in the end!
Hey Brian! I'm continuing to experience problems. The keys you programmed continue to crash MIDI2LR and even after I change those specific buttons to other functions, the keys revert back to your settings after I shut down and restart Lightroom. I've tried posting on the MIDI2LR community, but haven't gotten a response so looks like I'll try to start from scratch and see if it works that way. Please let me know if you figure anything out on your end!
Ah no worries! I mentioned it in the previous video. I printed them out on sticker paper then cut them out with a straight edge and an exacto knife! Not perfect or idea, but it works for me!
Nah you da man! Good luck setting it up! If you have any questions make sure to let me know. If you have a PC using friend to re-map the controllers using the X-Touch Editor, I highly recommend doing that so that you can start off with my profiles as a base and go from there. Good luck!
Brian Lovelace ya just ordered one. I liked the other controller but since I have never used one of these I thought let's start small and build from there if need be. Thanks again Brian!
Hey man, nice tutorial. But I’m having some issues when loading the Basic Panel. My MIDI2LR got stuck and it’s not responding. It’s just showing the color wheel on my mac. Can you help me? Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I loaded up as directed by your video and have the knobs working but the buttons below the knobs show them as Unmapped. I know enough to manually set up the knobs and buttons except I do not see the option to map out "Esape" , "Enter", "Sync", "Match", "Auto", "Swap", "Auto" (to name a few), from the lists provided on MID2LR. Also how to map wb, awb, ae, etc to the knobs. I know how to map the knobs but dont know how to map wb or awb to the knob. How do I make them happen? I downloaded your file that had various items in it. Is there a way with the files you provided to load my Behringer X Touch Mini with all of your settings? Please advise. I have seen your other video.
Hey there! Unfortunately my map doesn't work natively with Mac because I changed the standard send outputs that the controller sends out (at the time of my map, MIDI2LR didn't support "note" sends, only CC sends, so I had to re-program the controller). The good news is that you can get it mapped the same way, the bad news is that you need a PC to do this. Find a friend with a PC & download the X-Touch Editor here: www.music-group.com/Categories/Behringer/Computer-Audio/Desktop-Controllers/X-TOUCH-MINI/p/P0B3M/downloads Once you run the X-Touch Editor, follow the steps listed here in my other video (time link): ua-cam.com/video/oRGO7-dL7Pk/v-deo.htmlm9s I'm really sorry you had trouble with this part! I'll try to be more clear next time. I hope this helps and that you are able to get it working!!!
Hi Brian. I saw your other video and I was able to get it all set up like you have with the X Touch Edit on my PC. I have a PC so it was no problem. I just did what you did exactly and it worked! Your a genius! Now I am working on doing the labels from the sticky paper. Thanks your the best!
Just watched your other video on mapping all the buttons. When I try to save the new setting file using the MIDI2LR Server, it doesn't save. It acts like it saved, but there's nothing there when I go to the folder where it was supposed to have saved. Which means I can't map anything, I guess, since there's no settings file? I push all the buttons and turn the dials, and nothing pops up in the server for me to map. This is on a Mac. Help!
Hi there, I had the same issue and seem to have worked around it by installin MIDI2LR Version 2.7.0.4 and qhen I save a profile I make sure to input the name and the .xml extension i.e. myprofile.xml and then save it, now my Behringer X-touch mini is beeing properly mapped to MIDI2LR, hope this helps.
Great tutorial! However, I followed all the steps, and my buttons aren't mapping. The only ones mapping are the knobs when I turn them (Exposure through Clarity). Pushing down to reset them doesn't work, and none of the buttons are mapped. Any advice? Thanks!!
Hey there! Do you have a PC using friend you can borrow their computer for like 5 minutes to re-map your controller? Unfortunately the controller's native mapping wasn't optimized for MIDI2LR at the time I did this map, so I had to change it up using the X-Touch Editor which is unfortunately only on PC. MIDI2LR now supports "notes" which is what the original map on the X-Touch Mini has... I will eventually do a re-map with this setup to make it easier for everyone. If you want it to work now you have to follow the steps here on a PC: ua-cam.com/video/oRGO7-dL7Pk/v-deo.htmlm11s SORRY :(((
Nick Georgiou it does! Just make sure to download the latest version of MIDI2LR. There is also an adobe bug that makes it so that the plug-in will only work if it's set to English and a few other languages. If you have Lightroom set in a different language I would definitely check into it.
@@brianlovelace I'm curious as to how you got two X-Touch's working. I have two but they behave identically. LR2MIDI doesn't see them as separate devices. I'm using a Mac if that makes any difference to this. It shouldn't, because I have other double MIDI devices for DJing that are seen as separate items. Your how to set up mapping video was very useful BTW. Though there seems to be a bug with Layer B rotary 8 dial. :/

Thanks for giving out this secret! Worked perfect after updating board with a pc
Hey Brian! Just curious how you’d set up two x-touch minis like you use in your setup?
