How Richie Kirsch MANIPULATED Amber Freeman in SCREAM (2022) | Beyond The Mask
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 бер 2022
- Many people, including the writers, believe that Amber Freeman was the mastermind behind the events of Scream (2022). Despite Amber doing most of the heavy lifting, I believe her role was literally just that. In today's video, I explain how Richie Kirsch was the REAL mastermind behind the killing spree in SCREAM (2022) and which former killers he draws parallels from.
Thank you for watching the video guys. Don't forget to like & subscribe.

I like amber as a killer more than richie she’s just way more entertaining
I also find interesting the age gap. Amber is just a teenager and Richie uses that in his advantage, there are hints in the final act that can suggest a romantic relationship which 100% fits the grown man with teen stereotype power-difference-relationship. Amber is less realistic, is the crazy impressionable one who can live in the fantasy and Richie is the smart resentful mastermind.
He was only 25 & she’s 18 & women tend to mature faster, if anything she manipulated his stupid ass. She was happy about killing Dewey & said he died like a Pussy. She was the crazier one
I thought that to
Amber - Muscle
Richie - Mastermind
Jill - Mastermind
Charlie - Muscle
Roman - Mastermind, Muscle
Mrs. Loomis - Mastermind
Mickey - Muscle
Billy - Mastermind
Stu - Muscle
Billy was way more muscle than stu
@@bell5248 i agree he killed more people i would say billy was the mastermind and muscle and stu was muscle too
The muscle-some 100pound 5’1 teenage girl who’s on Reddit? I really couldn’t believe that Amber was ghost face after the reveal I was like wtf she killed Dewey?
@@aclarkk5462 ik it’s dumb but technically Richie is the mastermind bc he barely did any work and was making orders at amber to do stuff such as find Tara and get gale
Correct
This one is interesting. I agree with you, but I found Amber’s craziness so much more entertaining than Richie overall.
HOW RICHIE KIRSCH MANIPULATED AMBER FREEMAN IN SCREAM (2022) | BEYOND THE MASK
I’m so glad you noticed the similarities between him and Debbie salt cause most overlook that
Ritchie was way worse than Debbie Loomis. She actually had a real reason. Her motive was stronger.
That was one thing that I thought they should have mentioned in the movie. There was the fixation on Sam's father being a serial killer and the influence that would have on her, but so was her grandmother. Yet, no mention of that.
I always thought Richie was the manipulative or the mastermind one in this.... Richie is older, the adult. At minimum, he was 5 years older than Amber. Amber was young and impressionable, just like Mrs. Loomis was the mastermind in Scream 2.
He's similar to Roman as well because he was invested in creating a real life movie like Roman
I never thought Amber was the mastermind behind the killings, she always seemed too impulsive to me. Richie seemed the intelligent one out of the 2 and the one who planned out the murders
@Joshua 1992 mikey Madison her death reminded people of how her character went out in 2019's once upon a time in Hollywood
Yeah but she is she did 90 percent of the killings
False she was the psychopathic mastermind who was brainwashing Richie. She was more interested in killing while Richie was crazy and was willing to end lives for a stupid and irrational plan and went mad for his perceived discrimination for being a toxic fan and vowed to cause tragic events as a basis for his film. Sure Amber was “crazy” but she was more of a psychopath, judging by how ruthless and murderous she was.
Yeah ppl think Amber let Richie think he was the mastermind but really she was
@@randomguy1964 yeah an impulsive one at that
I always thought that Richie was the mastermind. Not because of the age difference, or the comments that he made, but because in every movie, the "mastermind" was the one who commited less kills. Billy, Mrs Loomis and Jill.
Billy killed more people than Stu
but he wasn't. the directors even said Amber was the mastermind.
Jill did lots of the killings
They both got 3 kills, amber attacked more (including the fails) and richie called more
@@randomguy1964 not really. She just killed Trevor and Charlie. Every time ghostface appeared, either she was somewhere or she was with someone.
Honestly this makes EVEN more sense after watching 6. I love how much more backstory we get for Richie
Richie and Amber weren't just friends. They were lovers
@Joshua 1992 Richie. He's smarter, older, and stronger
Finally someone mentions this
Something that’s been bugging me, hoping some fellow Scream nerds will help: So the plan was for Act 3 to take place at Amber’s (Stu’s) house. Amber blatantly announces it when she kills Liv, and Richie tricks Sam and Tara into going there with the inhaler thing. What I’m confused about is how, if Richie and Amber planned to frame Sam as the killer whose ultimate plan was to kill Sidney, how could they possibly have known that Sidney and Gale would end up at Amber’s house?? Richie and Amber had no plan for getting Sidney there - it was only because Sid herself put a tracker on Sam’s car that she ended up there. Neither Richie or Amber could have known that she would do that. So, without a plan to get Sid to the house, how exactly were Richie and Amber hoping to execute Act 3 with Sam as the killer going after Sidney, when Sidney wouldn’t even be there??
I'm guessing they probably just assumed that they or Sidney would show up, considering her past and that Sidney was vocal about putting the killer in the ground. I haven't seen the movie in a few weeks so I'm probably a bit off but it was probably just luck or prediction.
Yet another reason this movie shouldn't have been made. The writers are not capable of making a proper Scream movie
I feel like their obsession would cause them to know Syd well enough to figure that they would be following Sam
@OJ Simpson The film was great, I did enjoy it in the theatres and it had a nice plot. Plot holes like this happen in horror movies often, and this one does have a few, but I think they are excusable. If you didn't like it, I respect your choices
I think killing Dewey was also a way to make it personal for Sid and Gale and to get them involved no matter how far they could have wanted to remain from the whole thing.
I was still surprise Richie was a Ghostface he was funny so you wouldn't expect a clown character be a killer.
I was quite sad he was because he was a pretty decent character before the killer reveal.
He was spoiled being the killer before the movie came out 😂
Stu was literally a funny and clown character lmao
@@BeyondTheMask This fact definitely added to the drama of the reveal. I remember my heart skipping a beat Lol. But he did raise red flags in my mind. Like, the time he yells to Sam something along the lines of, "Were not supoosed to split up in these movies!" It was comical at first, but then I remembered him saying he doesnt watch horror movies. Also when he is watching the Stab Franchise right in Tara's hospital room. His reply to being given an odd look by Sam herself is, "What?" He was relishing that moment, as only a psychopath could.
I disagree. I don't think there was any manipulation. I think Amber and Richie were equals who came up with a crazy plan together then started sleeping together.
Me too
@Joshua 1992 umm... Okay
@Joshua 1992 everybody does
Dont be fkng rude
@@cindyanallywisconsin102 who's being rude
I agree completely, all Richie is talking about is "MY ending"
Richie was also very much like Roman since he wanted to make his own movie. Truly a genius horror movie franchise.
Amber, in my opinion, was the Stu Macher of the duo. Richie was a little more unhinged than Billy, but he was nonetheless the manipulator and master.
Richie represents Billy Loomis and Amber represents Stu Macher.
I laughed so hard at the Stab 8 UA-cam video with Ghostface using swords and a flame thrower 😂
i thought richie was awesome, i am a huge fan of jack quaid so i went in knowing id probably love his character, and i came out even happier than before.
I just love ur content and the added writing u do for this franchise
One thing I did like which is a small list is that they never betrayed each other, they were true to each other to the end so theres that
Yess I loved that about them
Hey Beyond the Mask, big fan.
I want to say just how much I enjoy your videos and insights into these horror classics. That’s why I wanted to know if you could do a Scream: Legacy video. I’m interested in seeing your perspective/point of view.
Oh and it’s been an great to see how your videos have grown between editing and effects. I’m loving the intros 👍🏼
Aight buddy, keep up the good work man
Strong agree on this one. I want to hear a good counter argument to this, to see why so many seem convinced Amber really was the overall mastermind, but I think you’ve got it 100% correct here.
In my opinion richie was like male version of jill nice guy
Richie was Derek but evil
@@liltmarshall8717 I think this was the best solution if they wanted main character boyfriend to be a killer again it just have to be nothing like billy
@Joshua 1992 for me amber
@Joshua 1992 Love Jill but Amber
Richie was absolutely the main antagonist of the film. I don't really get why people insist that Amber was the brains of that operation.
I agree with this I know in a interview the directors said it was Amber but they just said maybe it was her it wasn’t necessarily a confirmed thing I just don’t see someone like Amber being the mastermind the directors didn’t write the script so the writers probably know who the mastermind is and Richie was giving Amber orders towards the end and she seemed very obedient towards him
Yeah I saw him giving orders too, so Richie is the evil mastermind 💖😈
@@patrickshreve5950 yeah it seemed that way the directors should’ve made Amber have more agency and not look like she’s obeying Richie if they really wanted her to look like the mastermind I don’t take their word for it I’ll believe when I see it
@@ilovezoom3719 You are so right about that one 😃 I'll believe it when I see it too, and I didn't see it. Richie is sooo damn hot, that's why he's my newest most sexiest favorite villain out of all the different bad guys in movies in general 😏😈😏😈 If I were to date anyone in Scream 5, it would most definitely be Richie! 🎥😏 I can't stop thinking about him people, I really can't! 🎥😏🎥😏 Now I want a Richie Kirsch barbie doll for my 26th birthday this year, if they have him online hahaha 😃😃😃😃😃
Let me know if you see a Richie Kirsch Barbie doll online lol 😃 Ohhhhh I really want him sooo goddamn bad! 😣😣😣😣
@@patrickshreve5950 well sorry to be the bearer of bad news but no Richie barbie dolls anywhere and damn I didn’t know Richie could have an effect on people like that
the weird thing is he said there hasn't been a good stab film since the first one but then in scream 4, i think they mentioned the franchise didn't start going downhill until after the original trilogy (but i guess it's kind of subjective)
I think it just meant, Richie and Amber just personally didn’t like the stab movies after the original when in Scream 4 they said stab 5 was really bad with time travel and stuff
I love your videos and channel and want to thank you for putting so much time and energy into these films that I have also loved and grown up with as well. The dynamics between Amber and Richie remind me of the dropped plot of Scream 2 that would have seen Hallie and Derek as the two killers working under the “guidance” of Mrs. Loomis. This murder duo was later just changed to Mickey being the sole “muscle” of the two killers in the official version of Scream 2. I always liked that idea of Hallie and Derek and I feel like I kinda got to see what it could have been with the behavior and relationship dynamics that were shown between Amber and Richie.
i think there was a lot of manipulation, specifically in the factor of their 'romantic' relationship. i dont actually think amber was inlove with richie, she was manipulated by him to start loving him, loving his personality, loving his actions and going through with his plans since amber was a highschool student, who is naive whereas richie is a grown man who has knowledge and can manipulate her.
Richie is one of the most sick ghost faces ever. He practically groomed a minor.
I thought it was very obvious that Richie was the mastermind he seems to get most of the screen time in the finally while amen was just the lap dog
@Jarred Knox-Neyhart-May meant amber
Richie "holy shit I'm Ghostface!"
See what I did there 😉
Overall Richie Was The Mastermind Amber Did The Dirty Work For Him
no
@@kyleroberts1276 yup
@@AJacoby no. The directors confirmed Amber was the mastermind.
@@kyleroberts1276 exactly. The DIRECTORS. Not the writers. Everything points to Richie being the mastermind. I agree that she did almost every killing. But I’ll listen when the writers confirm it.
@@AJacoby wow. You're delusional.
Your editing in this one is really cool
I am loving your channel, while we wait for Scream 6! 👌😱🔪
I thought Sidney stop the Stab movies from being made as it was said in the opening of 4 and all the characters kept saying Billy started all of it but actually Sidney mother started all of this which was ignited by Roman like Maureen and Roman should have been reference or names said in this movie.
Billy did start everything he started the killing sprees all Roman did was have him kill the mom
No. Jenny specifically said not to use her story. She said nothing of killing the movies altogether.
No they js wanted them to stop using her story that's y scream 4 wasn't made into a stab movie sadly
@@randomguy1964 Even then, the homicidal rage was there already.
Amber is clearly the Stu/Mickie
Imagine a trio of Esther from Orphan, Richie from Scream 5 and Harper from Forever Purge.
honestly i think she wanted validation. besides being a complete psycho, she actually just wanted to be loved.
That’s so sad and I agree fr
I don't really think so
Amber really reminds me of Mickey bc they're both pure craziness and they just love the thrill of killing people
But she actually could be like Stu who just wanted Billy's aproval
@Joshua 1992 amber but it would be a close fight tbh
Richie used Amber, at first I thought maybe she was the master in disguise because she did most of the work but when you think about Scream just because one person does all the work doesn't make them the master behind the operation. I mean look at Nancy in Scream 2, she completley used Mickey. She allowrd him to do most of the work, letting him beleive they were gonna end things his way, which was smart because she wanted the police to trace back to him. Despite all the work he'd done, he was not the one in control of the situation. The same could be said with Jill, we now know that it wasn't her that killed most of the people in Scream but that it was Charlie. Still, in the end, he wasn't an important character in Jill's well planned ending. When you think about it, it's possible that Richie was intending on using Amber in the same way that Nancy used Mickey, and Jill used Charlie. Ending things his way, and going on to plan a sequal. They just didn't get far enough for us to see it.
I agree with everything you have said
Richie was definitely the mastermind. He was the Billy. He dressed like Billy, taunted like Billy, cocked his head like Billy, and even held the knife like Billy. He knew how to turn on the waterworks and how to manipulate people (e.g when Richie got shot by Sidney), and by definition, Amber was the Stu, she became obsessed with the Stab movies after moving house, she tried to get her girlfriend killed (as Stu did to Tatum) she held her knife with both hands and even did the ever-so-familiar Michael Myers head tilt. These are all details you notice on a re-watch.
Amber (Stu) and Richie (Billy)
Sam gave him what he was looking for 😬
also if ghost face was a big thing and sam knew abt like all the attacks and stuff i feel like wouldve known that that was stus house or something like she just didnt relise at all
Yeah Richie was definitely the mastermind in Scream 5
Not necessarily related to the video but could you possibly start including cc? Even if it's just the auto captioned? I apologize if ys too much to ask, I really like your content but I'm a bit harder of hearing so I find myself rewinding to understand some of your points better. Thank you!
Working on that. Thank you for the feedback 👍🏻
@@BeyondTheMask of course! I love your videos and I'm glad it's in the works! Thank you for the reply.
First I love u
(i haven't seen the video yet) it kind of doesn't make sense because the directors said that maybe it was Amber's idea to kill people.
I like the concept of the killers wanting to do a legacy sequel or "requel" to rejuvenated their franchise but I'll still never agree with them choosing Richie and Amber as the killers at the end of rhe day. It was so obvious that they chose to acknowledge it, just to have you think why it wouldn't be them and that's because it's too obvious. Only for them to go through with it. Couples as killers in this franchise is a hard pass for me.
bro what is hughie campbell doing
Richie did NOT manipulate amber.
She literally choose that!
Hey Beyond the Mask, great video as always! If you see this, I'd like to ask you what's your ranking of the scream movies from worst to best. Here's mine:
5) Scream 3 - 4/5
4) Scream 4 - 4/5
3) Scream 5 - 4/5
2) Scream 2 - 5/5
1) Scream - 5/5
Amber was hot for a unhinged psycho lol. Definitely one of my favorite ghost faces lol. She's hilarious too lol. Eek eek eek eek eek lol. She's way better than Ritchie. Before and after we found out they the killers lol. Team amber all the way lol. Too bad she didn't survive. Even after what she did with Dewey lol.
I'm team Richie, because he is way too hot and beautiful 💖😈
I liked Richie's character but hated amber's
She loved the killing!
he also gave me roman vibes
I think there wasn’t no mastermind in scream 5 because they met on Reddit and the both wanted to make a better movie than the awful stab 8 and I think ambers the mastermind because she’s a better killer and Richie was so glued to Sam he had no time to do the kills And I think ambers the mastermind because why would Richie try to kill mindy for no reason Amber probably told Richie to attack her because amber was with Tara and amber did not want to make her self a suspect
Is it was renting and why was their stories going there was a third killer involved craving something scary things that was Stu that killed Dewey not Amber with your honest opinion do you think there's any proof that was Stu cos Stu failed to kill dewey in scream 1996 so he finally finished of Dewey and he says it's an honour in some other people saying that was a third killer like I said before there was 100% do believe there was are third killer
Piss off, Amber killed Dewey. Period. Stu is dead. Period. Stop making up dumb conspiracies and accept the facts.
I really hope in the next one the motive isn’t to be famous. Like make it original again like Billy and Stu or Roman vibes 😁😁
Radio Silence literally said it was Amber's idea. And Amber was fucking BATSHIT BANANAS, she was having a GOOD time! This idea just degrades her to a weakling when she absolutely wasn't.
THEORY: Behind The Mask is the killer on Scream 6
I think it was the other way round.. Amber was manipulating Richie.. and she was the mastermind. She was the one living in Stu Machers house and she was part of the friend group.
I actually think Amber was the main Mastermind
But yeah, you're right in that Richie was the one who boosted Amber
No way he’s right with this video, amber just did the deed
I agree
@@megcollier3588 the directors alluded that Amber was the mastermind in an interview
ua-cam.com/video/W8I-PCZAa5Q/v-deo.html
@@megcollier3588 the mastermind is amber as the writers said
Both Richie and Amber certain are not the masterminds behind the 25 years later Woodsboro reboot,re-equel.Much like 25 years ago Billy seem to be the mastermind but we learned that he never truly was the mastermind much like Debbie may seem to be the mastermind as she hired Mickey a psychopath to get revenge on Sidney for killing her son,3rd movie everything we believed to be true in the 2 films turns out to be a lie,if we follow the same pattern starting with original trilogy as 4 has set in motion a new trilogy much like Star Wars go back to original as it all comes back to events that happen 25yrs later. We had no idea Stu had a sister she must been with the parents her brother dead and now her son is dead.
Don't get me wrong there both crazy as shit. But richie definitely plotted and manipulated Amber to an extent.
Amber is the mastermind because she wanted to be the stu so she set it up for Richie to be her Billy she manipulated him to let her play the role of stu
Totally agree here, the third act seems allaways as if richie is the one in charge and amber is just going allong with it because she is badshit crazy like Stu.
sad how a teenaged girl is his muscle... kind of an L ngl
Definitely Richie however, Neither one of them gives "master mind" energy . It felt like 2 charlies/ 2 accomplices... Which leads me to the Stu is the 3rd ghost face that will be revealed in six theory , which i am obsessed with lol.
it's not Richie at all, because the directors said Amber was the mastermind.
and Stu is dead. Jesus. I didn't think Scream fans could get any dumber.
Blame the guy haha
Didn’t the directors say in a UA-cam interview that Amber was the mastermind and behind almost all the kills? Richie didn't do sh*t. 😂
they did say it, but Scream fans never want to listen to facts. they'd rather make up conspiracy theories.
@ Noah Ashtrex untrue.
The writers confirmed that Amber did the dirty work, cause Richie didn't want to
most of the dirty work, they even said that Richie was the one who murdered Vince in the bar. @@dennydineva5755
@@kyleroberts1276and the fact is that Richie was one of the mentors and also did half of the killing.

Amber was way too sadistic in the murders to be coerced into this scheme.
Amber definitely like Stu in original. The more entertaining killer of the two lol. Stu is hilarious lol. Amber is hilarious. Both awesome lol. Billy and Ritchie meh they ok lol. Especially billy lol. Both psychos that had pretty b girlfriends and went crazy for really no good reason lol. Its not that serious guys not worth killing over lol.
I thought that Richie being the master mind was kinda obvious
There was no manipulation, she literally said they met in chat in the movie! Also she was the only one really doing any killing, I’d anything, she manipulated him
I think we will see stu was the organizer of all of this.
What would they have done if Sam were gay? Bring in someone else I guess but that leaves them vulnerable to more slip ups.
She wasn’t and that was a dumb comment to type
I thought this was an obvious one and I'm shocked people thought Amber was the mastermind? She had no input into the final plan at all, it was all Richie's doing.
@Bob Sponge what all 3 have in common is that they weren’t the mastermind of their killings though lol
the directors literally said that they thought Amber was the mastermind. I swear y'all be ignoring everything the directors say.
I kinda feel like it was the most equal duo, and they were both heavily invested.
