The difference between Stu and Amber is that Stu was gullable and easily manipulated by Billy. In Scream 5 Amber is the manipulator and not as gullable. She even tried to shoot her own accomplice right after she said 'Welcome to Act 3!'
I am of the opinion that maybe Stu is still alive and has orchestrated the events of 5 and 6. Maybe even 2 and 4. But her obsession with Stu, and another character's love for him in Part 6 (won't spoil in case you haven't seen it) might be because he has mentored these people. They don't obsess over the movie version of Stu. They obsess over the real Stu Macher... like a cult

So here's my theory: Stu is alive and once we get to the next scream movie it will be revealed that whomever turns out to be the killer is also a fanatic of the Stab movies and they reveal they're part of a cult led by Stu Macher who is either in prison, orchestrating from there or he's got some hideout where he created the cult. Mathew lilard is still a very active actor and he def shows love to the Scream fans so I don't think it's too much of a stretch to believe that he'd come back and fulfill the intial plan Kevin Williamson had for his character. The new scream movie had a good blend of old and new so I think this would be the right direction to go for these movies. I'd personally love that reveal!
I’ve been binge watching scream movies and I can definitely say amber is a very underrated ghostface. She may not be the best character, and her motive was a little weak, but her kills were awesome and brutal. She’s definitely my favorite ghostface.
I think she's mine, too, tbh. I'd maybe be hesitant to put her in front of Billy, Stu, and Mrs. Loomis, but her style and presence as ghostface, "yes, today" "sheriff joo-dee," kicking dewey down, the way she stabs, idk she's just cool. I think her character could have been more fleshed out, though, for sure.

Plus, his kills were more effective. Each person he attacked, died, and did so swiftly, allowing him to escape. Amber's victims mostly survived, and at least twice she was almost caught over the bodies 1) in the light of police 2) in the light of Sam's car

right, amber's family moved to woodsboro, and ritchie couldn't have been the first one obsessed with the town's murders if he was at modesto with sam. the mother's diary was in woodsboro so amber would've been the one to have access if she wanted to know more about sam's secrets (don't think tara was aware to look for clues due to her laid-back nature in the intro even though i think tara being ghostface would've been quite exciting). i never thought about this theory, i just let that drama go. this is ultimately fantastic.

On first viewing I really didn't like Amber. After third viewing, she's actually among my top five killers in the franchise. Plus if the DCU wants someone to play Punchline (Joker's new female accomplice) in a Batman movie, imo she's perfect for the role.
If she was truly obsessed with Stu why would she kill Vince, I mean he was a living breathing connection to Stu surely she would have tried to turn Vince into a murderer basically turning on Richie in the end and trying to make Vince the new Stu. Saying to him Richie was going to blame you and Sam as the close connection/ offspring in Sam's case of the two killers. She then goes on to say they all hate you for what Stu did but I love you (it's a more believable love story than her and Richie as Vince had at least been in the area and closer to the core group)
@@charleenlangley8709 Obviously kill the character I wouldn't so much call him a darling in any sense in that context cause after not really being in the film only to then throw the line in later about how he is connected to Stu felt forced. To me it was actually a worse use of a character than the college students at the beginning of Scream 2 being chosen for their names relating to the original victims (at least that forwarded the plot), he should have been built as a red herring for longer or at least been in more of the film as an ominous threat similar to Cotton in Scream 2. With Ambers connection to Stu's house I believe having Vince in there at all is not adding anything to the story especially as his storyline is with Liv who is also such an afterthought.

It is likely he was used specifically as a throwaway, or perhaps there was an idea that they didn't have time to fully fill in, and his involvement is the end result of the writers wanting to hammer home that it's not a coincidence that people are dying due to connections. So they had to kill part of the filler that would have explained this character's connections more, but kept the character and death.

Vince while he was unnecessary to the 3rd act as a character but his connection wasn't unnecessary, if anything Chad was more unnecessary than Vince because they already had Mindy being related to Randy, at least Vince could have served as even more of a red herring. When he was killed off he was just the creepy guy stalking Liv. It took exposition later to reveal his full connection to the story (it made sense in scream 2 as Gail was putting the pieces together in the police station) it just felt forced and shoehorned in to make him relevant.
@@charleenlangley8709 My point being they added the detail too late for me to care about it I mean they could have relayed the info of his connection either at the fountain when we first see him, or at the pool hall. Chad could have called him as crazy as his uncle and that he should be suspect number 1 then we could have gotten the killing as is but the body dragged away, so that as an audience we have the suspense of a possible fake out and he could show up later as a jump scare at any point either alive or dead.
He was in part 2, because they were gonna use him for part 3 but change their mind So part 5 would’ve been the perfect way to bring him in, well they technically should’ve did it in part 4 because the killers in that one just….Naw. But again they missed a great opportunity. Well the final act was in Stu’s house and Amber was excited about her parents buying the house so obviously she was a fan of Stu in general but she wasn’t a Stu Now whenever we get a scream seven or eight this should be a good time to do a better fleshed out version of the original scream three script that pulls off the Ghostface cult and Stu being still alive with being the person that orchestrated the whole thing

An easy way to explain Amber's obsession with Stu? Simple. Amber is Stu's daughter. Everything you're saying is easily refutable when in actuality these two new directors had no fucking idea what they were doing and didn't write a good script for this effying boringass movie. The whole idea that Amber was the one manipulating Richie is never implied in the movie itself once. Hell, they barely made any sort of relevant distinguished traits between the two, who never had any personal motives whatsoever into doing the murders in the first place, making the two of them pathetic and unbelievable as Ghostface's as they were. Amber couldn't be manipulating Richie because this idea only came from the directors AFTER the movie came out and they clearly got this idea from the stupidity tik tok videos about the movie from people who had never dared to watch the franchise in the first place, which is pretty much what these two new directors also didn't do. For example, Amber/Ghostface is not the only one to mix up information from the Stab franchise like you mention on the video. The movie itself claims that all the murders started from Billy - by the line of Sidney Prescott herself on the car scene with Gale - when in reality it was Roman who killed Maureen Prescott with Billy - which he constantly confirms in the third movie - and Roman was the one who started it all, not Billy, because he was Maureen Prescott lost son. There are lot of other instances in which this movie tries to erase/neglect the entire rest of the franchise except for the original movie. Also, the whole "Sam is Billy's daughter" plot should have never existed in the first place because Billy was obsessed with Sidney and was not gonna throw his entire murder scheme he planned for more then an year just so he could get a girl pregnant and end up breaking Sidney's love for him for sure with this cheating. A woman pregnant that was never mentioned once in the entire Franchise up until now. Instead, it was Stu in the first movie who tries to hook with lot's of female characters, like how he was Casey's ex-boyfriend, he dated Tatum, always had feelings for Sidney and was seen hugging and kissing other girls in his party - meaning he would be the most likely one to get a girl pregnant, not Billy. The movie, instead of trying hard to make everything be about Billy (Which was a great character until this movie was written), could have been easily more original had these two new killers decided to make a tribute or homage to the side killers of each scream/stab franchise, given how it's always the side killers who murders more people and they are always overshadowed in the end by the main killers of each movie - giving a slightly better reason to why these two new ghostfaces lacks distinguishable traits to make which one is the mastermind/main one. And since this is a movie that tries to pass the torch to a "second" group of main characters and a "second generation", they had all the damn pieces in their hand and they decided to throw it away. Even though Amber was clearly obsessed with Stu after she started to live at his house, she was never gonna be a mastermind nor would have manipulated Richie given how she was groomed by him and she would never be able to top any of the main killers, specially for instance, Jill who she claimed (And the movie also claimed) it was the worst Ghostface just because Scream 4 had sold less in Box office, even though Jill is the only main killer to succeed in her goal throughout the entire franchise (Even if for such a small period of time until she died)...

Amber Freeman was terrible casting and I'll tell you why. Not because she is a bad actress, quite the opposite in fact. As most people know she was one of the Manson Cult members in Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, playing an absolute Psycho. The moment I saw her face in Scream, the very second, I knew she was going to be the killer.

If she was truly obsessed with Stu why would she kill Vince, I mean he was a living breathing connection to Stu surely she would have tried to turn Vince into a murderer basically turning on Richie in the end and trying to make Vince the new Stu. Saying to him Richie was going to blame you and Sam as the close connection/ offspring in Sam's case of the two killers. She then goes on to say they all hate you for what Stu did but I love you (it's a more believable love story than her and Richie as Vince had at least been in the area and closer to the core group)

@@charleenlangley8709 Obviously kill the character I wouldn't so much call him a darling in any sense in that context cause after not really being in the film only to then throw the line in later about how he is connected to Stu felt forced. To me it was actually a worse use of a character than the college students at the beginning of Scream 2 being chosen for their names relating to the original victims (at least that forwarded the plot), he should have been built as a red herring for longer or at least been in more of the film as an ominous threat similar to Cotton in Scream 2. With Ambers connection to Stu's house I believe having Vince in there at all is not adding anything to the story especially as his storyline is with Liv who is also such an afterthought.
@@obiwanmartyn The quote was from Kings book 'on writing', that suggests that when something is unnecessary to plot, no matter how precious to the writer, it's best to cut it - aka, kill your darling. It is likely he was used specifically as a throwaway, or perhaps there was an idea that they didn't have time to fully fill in, and his involvement is the end result of the writers wanting to hammer home that it's not a coincidence that people are dying due to connections. So they had to kill part of the filler that would have explained this character's connections more, but kept the character and death.
@@charleenlangley8709 I'm sorry I should have been clearer when I said he wasn't a darling in any sense I literally mean he wasn't in the film long enough to be considered one (I know what the term relates to I majored in screenwriting in college). Vince while he was unnecessary to the 3rd act as a character but his connection wasn't unnecessary, if anything Chad was more unnecessary than Vince because they already had Mindy being related to Randy, at least Vince could have served as even more of a red herring. When he was killed off he was just the creepy guy stalking Liv. It took exposition later to reveal his full connection to the story (it made sense in scream 2 as Gail was putting the pieces together in the police station) it just felt forced and shoehorned in to make him relevant.
@@charleenlangley8709 My point being they added the detail too late for me to care about it I mean they could have relayed the info of his connection either at the fountain when we first see him, or at the pool hall. Chad could have called him as crazy as his uncle and that he should be suspect number 1 then we could have gotten the killing as is but the body dragged away, so that as an audience we have the suspense of a possible fake out and he could show up later as a jump scare at any point either alive or dead.

Now whenever we get a scream seven or eight this should be a good time to do a better fleshed out version of the original scream three script that pulls off the Ghostface cult and Stu being still alive with being the person that orchestrated the whole thing

Stu survived, married, and had Amber... obviously having to change his name, what other fitting last name could he have chosen besides "Freeman". Avoiding consequences, Stu is a FREE MAN 😉Amber says "I've been obsessed, ever since my parents bought this house"... Stu bought back his own house with his new identity 😂

Its funny through out the movie she acted kind of like billy like everyone thought she was the killer or one of them seeing the trailer and photos and reacting to the movie like everyone pegged her as one which that's how billy was he was so obvious that's why he or she could be a red herring bit yeah once she's revealed she does channel Stu a lot lol cept she never seems like the side kick or less dominant killer. In original obviously Billy was the dominant killer giving most of orders probably planning everything and like Stu said it was peer pressure or him following billy around why he went with billy on the spree. In Amber case she never seemed to follow her partner. Plus at least in my opinion she's way hotter than Stu lol. I don't know if she's funnier cause dang he was funny throughout the movie especially towards the end not to mention its Matthew. He's probably the funniest guy in this franchise lol. Everything you're saying is easily refutable when in actuality these two new directors had no fucking idea what they were doing and didn't write a good script for this effying boringass movie. The whole idea that Amber was the one manipulating Richie is never implied in the movie itself once. Hell, they barely made any sort of relevant distinguished traits between the two, who never had any personal motives whatsoever into doing the murders in the first place, making the two of them pathetic and unbelievable as Ghostface's as they were. Amber couldn't be manipulating Richie because this idea only came from the directors AFTER the movie came out and they clearly got this idea from the stupidity tik tok videos about the movie from people who had never dared to watch the franchise in the first place, which is pretty much what these two new directors also didn't do. For example, Amber/Ghostface is not the only one to mix up information from the Stab franchise like you mention on the video. The movie itself claims that all the murders started from Billy - by the line of Sidney Prescott herself on the car scene with Gale - when in reality it was Roman who killed Maureen Prescott with Billy - which he constantly confirms in the third movie - and Roman was the one who started it all, not Billy, because he was Maureen Prescott lost son. There are lot of other instances in which this movie tries to erase/neglect the entire rest of the franchise except for the original movie. Also, the whole "Sam is Billy's daughter" plot should have never existed in the first place because Billy was obsessed with Sidney and was not gonna throw his entire murder scheme he planned for more then an year just so he could get a girl pregnant and end up breaking Sidney's love for him for sure with this cheating. A woman pregnant that was never mentioned once in the entire Franchise up until now. Instead, it was Stu in the first movie who tries to hook with lot's of female characters, like how he was Casey's ex-boyfriend, he dated Tatum, always had feelings for Sidney and was seen hugging and kissing other girls in his party - meaning he would be the most likely one to get a girl pregnant, not Billy.
The movie, instead of trying hard to make everything be about Billy (Which was a great character until this movie was written), could have been easily more original had these two new killers decided to make a tribute or homage to the side killers of each scream/stab franchise, given how it's always the side killers who murders more people and they are always overshadowed in the end by the main killers of each movie - giving a slightly better reason to why these two new ghostfaces lacks distinguishable traits to make which one is the mastermind/main one. And since this is a movie that tries to pass the torch to a "second" group of main characters and a "second generation", they had all the damn pieces in their hand and they decided to throw it away. Even though Amber was clearly obsessed with Stu after she started to live at his house, she was never gonna be a mastermind nor would have manipulated Richie given how she was groomed by him and she would never be able to top any of the main killers, specially for instance, Jill who she claimed (And the movie also claimed) it was the worst Ghostface just because Scream 4 had sold less in Box office, even though Jill is the only main killer to succeed in her goal throughout the entire franchise (Even if for such a small period of time until she died)...

Amber Freeman was terrible casting and I'll tell you why. Not because she is a bad actress, quite the opposite in fact. As most people know she was one of the Manson Cult members in Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, playing an absolute Psycho. The moment I saw her face in Scream, the very second, I knew she was going to be the killer.
