I watched a livestream with Scott, and he said they've loved this song for a long time, and have finally covered it. He also said it inspired their song, "Run to You." Great reaction, as always!
they do this song live on their tour..... no mics....just voices......there was 10,000 people here at the arena.....deathly silent but for them singing....it was stunning!
To me it's Kirstin and Matt popping the most. Mitch filling out the entire middle like a beast. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. They are so in-tune with each other. Their hand movements even match. Great reaction Thanks for the reaction.
I know the original song by The Rescues very well and it was on my playlist for a long time. I didn't learn until recently that Pentatonix covered it, but their reedition has replaced the original on my playlist.
Love this performance. I tend to really fixate on those songs where the production values are minimized and the whole focus of the song is their incredible harmonies. The way that they inject so much emotion into this particular song while maintaining that harmonic focus is just astounding.
PTX has done similar songs, about one per album. Their originals "Run to You" and "Light in the Hallway" are similar. And "Can't Help Falling in Love", "Silent Night"
Christmas Under The Stars was a profit an Aires/streamed on BYY TV for free. There were a couple sets used, as well as several performances live in front of an audience. And televised with little snippets of interviews with the band members
They sang this in concert in NewJersey but didn't even use the mics. Just their voices. I heard it was STUNNING. They had their eyes closed and were just listening for the melody.
They do a couple of others in a similar style - Light in the Hallway and also Run to You. Those are both originals and both with Avi, but are also hauntingly beautiful. Thanks for this reaction D - great as always!!
Thanks for your reaction! You're right, the video is beautiful, but it sometimes makes it difficult to 'see' who is doing what. I think the first time you shouted out Kevin, you might have been hearing Mitch, actually. And the second time was definitely Scott - you can see him sing this part a little earlier in the video as well, and there the camera actually focuses on him. Kevin has a beautiful voice, but it's quite distinct from Scott's. I might be wrong, of course, not sure exactly what you were referring to in those moments.
I love the Pentatonix reactions, started following you because of them! They are so awesome, with Avi, and now with Matt ... and love Kirstie ❤ 😍. Keep them coming! Cover or original they make it their own! Something new, possibly if you want to gain some new followers anyway .... a band called Skillet... they have millions of views on many of their videos. You can't go wrong! Skillet fans "panheads" are just as dedicated to the band, as Pentaholics are to Pentatonix. Suggest "Hero", "Monster", "Legendary", "Feel Invincible", "Sick of it", or "Not Gonna Die" as songs to react to! Talk about "bangers"!!!

The Prayer cover was just stunning

See....in the original there was NO bass part in it....but was written in just for this song...and it really added to the depth of the song....
don't think it's creepy but it is hauntingly beautiful

Amazing reaction as always! The whole special is awesome!
not many people understand that this is live
Love your reactions! I think that one part you thought was Kevin was actually Scott (could be mistaken!)
